Xiu had just finished patrolling the camp's borders when he stopped in the middle of a clearing. Yellow-green gaze cast upon camp activities, he exhaled. Who could he socialize with? He hadn't talked to much of anyone in a few sunrises besides the normal "hey," or "good morning"s. He licked a paw, swiping it over his ear.

The smaller-than-average she-cat sneezed and shook herself out. Honey-gold eyes flicked around the camp, searching for another cat in particular- her mentor. "Xiu...?" she hummed, padding around the camp before sticking her head in and out of the guard's den before slipping out and waiting for him.[fancypost borderwidth=0; text-transform: lowercase; color: white; font-family: calibri; border-bottom:1px #863800 solid;][justify]Xiu had stopped grooming himself when he heard a familiar voice, none other than his apprentice, Copper. A subtle smile developed on his muzzle, just in time, he thought. Copper had seemed to show up on a schedule, seemingly around the same time daily. Xiu was always up bright and early; a guard's duty, seemingly. He padded up to Copper from behind, "Looking for me?" soft and smooth voice developing a questioning tone.

He had always admired her energy, and how while they were paired it had always seemed like the perfect balance, as Xiu had always been a more lax tom than most. "Bless you," he began, watching the she-cat shake out her pelt once she stopped circling him. A patrol had sounded like a good idea, truthfully.
Green-yellow gaze trained on the silvery femme, he stretched out his front paws before standing up straight once more, "We'll go and see about the patrols you mentioned," he told her, purring lightly "Sound good?"

She nodded and stuck close to her mentor as they approached Octavius. The apprentice eventually bounded forward and sat in front of the guard at attention. She dipped her head slightly in greeting, being still for a moment. But this was too unlike her and she was quickly back on her paws, smiling a little at the other guard. "Can Xiu and I go on a patrol, Octavius?" she hummed with a little bit of pleading. The apprentice shuffled her paws slightly as she sat, waiting for the other's answer. It didn't come as a surprise to Xiu when Copper had spoken up before himself, requesting the patrol with a hopeful sounding mew. The greeting bow didn't take the tom by surprise, however, due to the fact that he was quite aware of the amount of respect Copper had carried for her clanmates, and even more so the higher ranks. He trotted close behind Copper in Twig's direction, curiosity striking him. Where would they be assigned patrol today? The deep brown tom quietly observed Copper as she now circled Twig, her deep orange tail tip now but a colored blur following the silvery coat that had adorned her small build. He could never understand the energy his apprentice carried, or how it had never worn either. Though, he had been grateful to have Copper as an apprentice as opposed to a possibly lazy one. Her energy against his own mellow just seemed to flow naturally together. Xiu eyed Twig as he awaited a response to Copper's question. He too had been wondering.

Maple jogged forwards, "Xiu! Xiu!" The small she cat seemed excited, usually she was more secluded and alone. " I-i was wondering if I could join you guys?" She questioned, stopping in front of him with wide eyes. The small feline, although no longer a apprentice, was often very polite and respectful to all of the cats older than her.

It was almost silky, as if it had been a constant purr.

Maple looked up at him, " I dunno, I just suppose I wanted to get some fresh air." The small cats blue eyes were wide and her voice quiet. "And Company never hurts." She grinned than focused back on the scenery that surrounded her.

As the group approached the west border, Xiu guided them closer to it so that they'd practically been hugging the edge of their clans territory. It wasn't often when the clan stumbled into trouble, but patrols were always necessary.

Xiu yawned loudly, rough tongue curling up as he stretched out his paws. Once completely back on fours, he shook out his deep rust colored pelt. It was shining, and warm from the sun beating down on it. He sighed loudly- a little exaggerated- and looked around. As of late, the loner had been very, well, lonely. He wanted to be part of a clan maybe, but wanted even more to be loved by another feline. He wanted someone he could confide in with confidence that he could trust them. He wanted to be taken care of and also wanted to take care of another. Hopefully, even, he could start a family.
