(amazing! You can start Roleplaying now if you want)
As soon as dawn arrived, Clay stood perched upon a wide tree stump at the outskirts of the camp. Tents were set up in a circle surrounding one large clearing wide enough for her group to sit around the fire.
There were tiny round stones surrounding the firewood and a large pot for cooking rice, meat and fish. Upon traveling through the woods, fleeing from the battlefield back south, her and her troop had come across an open grassland area, and water was within walking distance, as well as food. Clay and her right hand decided that this would be the best place to settle for the next 3 days. 3 Days.. one week until we return to battle Clay shook it off quickly, in hopes of keeping herself from being discouraged;she didn't want it to rub off on anyone else. By the looks of it though, no one had awoken yet, much to Clay's disappointment; she had hoped that after months of training they'd at least be able to get up early. It's because I am a female, they do not like answering to females She thought, averting her gaze to the blue and peach sky. Grey clouds tinted pink whisped across the sky above and formed curious shapes before breaking apart once more.
Clay liked it, the way the clouds seemed to go their own way, do their own thing.
I aspire to be like the cloud, to be independant.
Unfortunately, though, clouds don't get any work done

Clay slowly turned her head to look over at Cipher, relieved to have broken the sad silence that seemed to drag on. A small grin spread across Clay's face and she nodded back to him "it's good to see you as well, Cipher." she added.
After viewing the sky for a long moment, Clay had realized how much her wings itched to touch the wind once more, how much she missed being able to fly. The troops were not allowed to fly because it would draw too much attention, and air battles were banned because humans could not fly and it caused too much damage.
"do you miss flying, Cipher?" Clay mumbled, not realizing that she had even spoken. It was part of Clay's job to seem threatening and leader-like, but with only her and Cipher she couldn't bring herself to do it.
-
(I say the hunter should come in so Mallory can cry XD)
-
Clay nodded slowly "ah, it certainly is exhilarating to fly during a storm...but, I do miss flying.. I miss it so much. I remember as a hatchling I would tell my mother everyday about how when I grew up I was gonna find a job that required flying, because I enjoyed leaping into the air and soaring above the clouds with my family. Although as time progressed, it became apparent that I wasn't going to fly all the time, in fact, I wasn't going to fly at all.
So here I am. Apologies for the sob story on my part." she replied calmly. Reflecting on the story made Clay feel a depressing wave of nostalgia wash over her;she just wanted to go back in time and just sit there for ages watching her younger self play in the fields by her parent's home. Her parents, being farmers, encouraged that Clay train to become a general in the army after King Henry lost in the little debate between him and Rowan, and she did find it particularly interesting to fight.
The time she had spent on that stump next to Cipher was worthwhile;she felt comfortable, relaxed.
"It should be time to wake them for their duties. You may eat breakfast early if you want, since you woke the earliest"
-
Clay chuckled at Cipher's suggestion "thanks, I appreciate your help." she replied before stepping off the tree stump. She then brushed her wing against Cipher's in a friendly manner and added "and thanks for understanding, not many dragons would listen to my story" before sauntering off towards the camp.
Just as Clay had guessed, none of the soldiers were awake like they should have been minutes ago. She sighed and straightened her back and shoulders, looking as intimidating as possible, and then uttered a deep bellow, loud enough to startle them awake. In several tents, she could make out the sound of frantic stirring;the first dragon to slip out from his tent was a green dragon with black dots along his back, and then the others hurried after him.
"Morning sunshine." Clay snapped, her tail twitching in anger "you're all late." there was a hint of venom in her tone that stung more than usual;the others could tell that she was irritated too.
Every dragon stood in front of their tents, dumbfounded and confused, their shoulders sagging and wings drooping. "You are all going to line up at the food tent and eat, and you are all going to hustle back when I call you or you WILL be assigned 40 pushups. Am I clear?" Clay hollered, her wings opening in a threatening manner involuntarily.
"Crystal!" the green dragon yelped back, looking away when Clay glared at him.
"now go, and hurry, your training starts in 40 minutes." Clay sneered as the soldiers got into a single file line and hurried to the food tent.
tch. They finally decided to listen to me, what a surprise.

Mallory's vision grew blurry and his mind was filled with confusion. He looked up to see a blurry image of Cobra carrying him through the tunnel. "whats going on?" he whimpered, trying to piece together the events that were taking place.
-
Onai stood at the mouth of the elder's den watching the other wolves from a distance and pretending to translate what they were saying out of bordem because she couldn't hear them. As soon as her gaze fell upon Akira, she faked the other female's voice "Alpha, we should be married! mousquitos!fjkelw!" Thoroughly amused with her rather nonsensical humor, uttered a joyful giggle, her tail thrashing. What a lovely pass-time Onai thought to herself as she eased down to her belly and lay her head on her paws.
-
(OH MY GOD THERE IS SO MUCH GOING ON I LOST TRACK SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME)
-
Mallory yelped as the hunter fired at Amber, urging Khevyel to run faster. His lungs ached from his constant heavy breathing and his eyes glazed over with tears. I don't understand why this don't just leave me behind.. it would be easier if I wasn't dragging them down

(thanks guys XD)
Sage got to her paws and slipped through a gap between two roots of the tree. "They're gone, Swift. Long gone, by the sound of it. Lets just get back to the hunting ground, like we said we would." she sighed and stood firm, waiting for Swift's reply. Swift flinched and hauled himself through the same gap where Sage had gone, then trotted quickly to her side.
"but, its not our hunting ground. It's.. It belongs to the wood spirit. Like the one that strange wolf told us about when we wandered too far off the outskirts of the forest." He reminded Sage proudly, clearly happy about earning a look of confusion from Sage. "Those are just stories,Swift. That wolf was starving and he probably lost his marbles. The forest hunting ground belongs to everyone. Now, lets go." Sage whimpered. Swift nodded and they took off to the east, making their way towards the grassy daisy field closer to the outskirts of the forest. The daisy field was the most abundant place known to Sage and Swift, and everytime they went to hunt there, food was almost never scarce. Almost, though.
As the siblings paced down a slope coated with dead leaves from three seasons ago (assuming its summer and if its not i'll correct it) and weaved past the trunks of trees in the more dense area of the forest, Sage began to recall the scene that Swift had brought up. She vividly remembered standing above a starving, scruffy rogue wolf guarding the edge of his territory. His ribcage was visible through his almost transparent skin, and his once magnificent bright yellow eyes were bloodshot and widened. The wolf told them a story, and said he'd let them pass because they are foxes, but Sage did not want anything to do with him or anyone remotely like him. The strange thing about his territory though, was that it seemed to look like a somewhat barren land;there were no squirrels in the trees or birds there, and the trees looked strange; as though they were fake.
The pale orange vixen suppressed a shudder at the thought of living a lie like the poor wolf had, and plowed through the thick foliage to stand at the top of a steep slope leading down to the hunting grounds.

Cranepaw and Lakepaw rushed over to Dawnflower eagerly, their eyes glistening in unison.
behind Cranepaw, stood a tall silver-white male with short scruffy fur covered with dazzling red brown stripes, and below his short tufted ears his eyes shone a bright green color. Cranepaw looked so different from her mentor, Owlfeather. She had a pure white coat with splotches of dull orange dappled with dark grey, and Lakepaw whose sleek fur was a soft silvery grey with dark grey swirls across his back. Owlfeather released a heavy, relieved sigh "hello Dawnflower, would you kindly take these two off my paws for a swift moment? I need to speak to someone and these two won't quit bugging me." Cranepaw lifted one eyebrow at Owlfeather, then stared over at Lakepaw. If anything, he's bugging us. We're just bored Cranepaw thought angrily, almost wishing Owlfeather could read her mind. Lakepaw shrugged and pressed his flank to Cranepaw's shoulder in an almost protective way, glancing briefly over at Owlfeather a few times.
-
"Hustle back ladies!" Clay chuckled, watching the dragon soldiers scurry back to their positions. She marched past every single one of them, eyeing them as though they had all done something wrong. The slender blue female paused in front of a larger grey male dragon who was trying to wolf down his food before she reached him. He halted as soon as she saw him, cowering beneath her glare. "next time" she declared "try to finish before practice begins." and turned to head back to stand before the warriors. "today, we are going to go for a bit of an early morning swim." she announced, a hint of humor in her tone. "th-that sounds pleasant" a silver male spoke up, trembling. Clay glanced over at him and waved a talon at him dismissively "oh sure sure, if you call relay racing pleasant." she replied promptly. The previous grey male flinched and he exchanged a look of worry with the silver one.
"well, what are you all waiting for? lets go."
-
Clay found the idea rather interesting, but she looked over at Cipher, pondering whether or not she should. Some of the soldiers were new recruits from the training camp, and she didn't want them to over-exert themselves; then again, they were training for war. She found herself nodding slowly, a small grin making its way onto her face "I think that sounds like it would be quite interesting to watch how that idea unfolds, and good training too. It would be cruel of me to turn down such a tempting offer." She briefly wrapped her wing around him to pat his shoulder playfully before folding it away again. "Are you sure you're up for something so fast-paced on your first time back though, Cipher?" she asked him, her tone shifting slightly.
-
Sage nodded in Swift's direction, signalling him to circle the outer area until he stood across from her. She watched and waited for Swift to reach the other side, listening for the rabbit they were tracking. A plump brown rabbit stood before her;she knew it was there, concealed by the tall grass, but she couldn't see it with her own eyes. She leaped down the slope and into the field, eyeing the area where the rabbit was hiding.Sage crouched and her muscles tensed, ready to leap into action. She had been waiting for so long to get back to hunting again;and this rabbit was only two fox-leaps away. how does it not smell me? I am right here she wondered in awe, inching closer to the oblivious hare. At some point, the hare did notice the lurking predator inching toward it, raising it's head to stare dead at Sage. Sage froze, her entire body stiff like a rock as she stared into the eyes of the rabbit. Fortunately for Sage's aching legs, the silence was broken when the rabbit came to it's senses and fled in Swift's direction, tearing up the slope;but it was no match for Swift. Swift lived up to his name as he dove out from the foliage, fangs bared. The rabbit whirled around and bolted up South, but Sage and Swift had already flanked the rabbit on either side. Adrenaline rushed through Sage's veins rapidly as she pushed her legs to go faster, making it seem almost as if she wasn't even touching the ground. Both Sage and Swift knew that it wasn't a good idea to pounce while running, so when Sage got close enough, she stomped on the hare's spine, pinning it against the soft grass. It squirmed as Swift leaned down and sunk his teeth into it's throat, but it didn't last long. Almost as soon as Swift bit the rabbit, it was out cold, dead.

Owlfeather smiled at Dawnflower and trotted off, leaving Cranepaw and Lakepaw to stare in awe at the webs between her toes. Cranepaw lifted one of her paws first and spread her toes to see the thin web-like skin in between them, as did Lakepaw afterward. Cranepaw tilted her head at Lakepaw happily, then looked back at Dawnflower "I've only gone swimming three times! Owlfeather doesn't like swimming, maybe he's secretly an evil two-leg disguised as a cat!" she mewed proudly, her whiskers twitching. Lakepaw chuckled and pawed Cranepaw in the cheek, similar to how you would gently punch someone "you're so full of stories Cranepaw! Twolegs can't disguise themselves as cats, it would be too obvious." he meowed, a hint of amusement in his tone.
-
"Alright then, I'll leave you to it." she replied, followed by a short chuckle. Clay then halted at the edge of a lake, and climbed swiftly atop the leaning branches of a tree that sat peacefully nearby. "Attention, troops! I want your full attention!" She announced, her chest puffed out as she stood her full height atop the tree "Earlier I received a request, and now there's been a change of plans. Cipher is leading our race today, and better yet, he will be chasing you. When you are caught, you will be assigned a set amount of pushups, as motivation!" Clay could see the silent disappointment among many of the dragons, but she continued boldly "we will begin at the end of the warmups! Now, get into pushup position." she ordered.
The general spent a good 40 minutes shouting at soldiers to straighten their posture while doing the warmups, or to keep up with the group, but when the time came to begin the training, her gaze fell upon Cipher and she nodded at him "I am giving you the lead position for this training because it is your idea. I would participate, but, someone's gotta make sure these hooligans can play by the rules!"
-
Cranepaw blinked, realizing her mistake. "Whoop! I forgot to introduce myself! I, am Cranepaw, oh humble warrior" Cranepaw meowed, attempting to bow, but only managing to wack Lakepaw in the face with her rear end and send him staggering backwards. Not long after Lakepaw was sent off in the other direction, Cranepaw's legs grew tired and she ended up making her self roll forward onto her back clumsily. "GAAH! SORRY LAKEPAW, SORRY DAWNFLOWER, SORRy QUAILPAW!" she yelled in a panicked and rather funny way. Lakepaw chuckled and stepped forward to stand before Dawnflower, grinning despite being knocked aside by the clumsy she-cat "the name's Lakepaw. I'm hoping to become a warrior VERY soon, by the way, so of course i'm obviously more mature than Cranepaw here." he nodded over at Cranepaw, pointing to her with his nose.
-
I guess I am making excuses, but I'll do my own personal training later. For now, I've gotta do as I promised Clay climbed to the edge of the branch cautiously and unfolded her wings, her head held high. "Let the race, begin!" she bellowed, watching the soldiers take off into the lake and swim for their lives. Whoa, that's the fastest I've seen them Clay thought with a quiet chuckle and hopped down from the branch gracefully, her long tail curling upwards. Go get em' Cipher

(aw Quailpaw is too cute)
Lakepaw was the first to slip into the water boldly, his head held high. He waded into the river until he stood neck-deep in the water, waiting for Quailpaw and Cranepaw to join him. Cranepaw, however, was reluctant in her every move. The white and orange she-cat dipped a paw in the water before drawing back slowly, and then looking over at Quailpaw. "Wanna go in together?" she asked, a little bit anxious.
-
Cranepaw hurried into the water after Quailpaw and followed Dawnflower's instructions, trying to keep her head above the surface. She paddled between Lakepaw and Quailpaw, enjoying the company of her newfound friends. Lakepaw floated in the river with ease, his strokes seeming almost as graceful as his posture. He's so good at swimming.. I'll never be that good she thought, feeling a stab of envy at the grey tom's grace.
