[justify]Haxus was not new to the clan lands. Well, perhaps he was, but living in groups together was not a concept that he was foreign to. He had formerly lived with a small group of strays that stuck together and protected each other, they even had a designated 'leader.' Of course, though, it didn't compare to the real deal, and so the dark blue tabby was resting upon the border of WindClan, his pale yellow eyes scanning the territory.

"Hello?" He called, clearing his throat as if he were physically going to choke back the nervousness that was gnawing away at him. "My name is Haxus, I wish to join." He had heard mixed reviews about this place. Some said the cats who lived here were friendly, and the more skittish ones said that they would eat you. That being said, Haxus liked to think he was well versed in the art of running away from a fight.

[justify][justify]Cherviltea would be the first that Haxus would address, since she had been the first to arrive. His pale yellow gaze shifted to her and he allowed a light smile to travel across his lips at her hospitality. "Would you mind letting me know who the leader is? I wouldn't want to accidentally pass them by without realizing it." It was important to know who the high ranking members in a clan were, and he figured that he would soon learn the names of the rest - but the leader was most important. Perhaps the blue tomcat could even befriend him or her.

The question that Holydove asked next caught him slightly off guard. Where had he come from? The group he was a part of didn't really have a name, they were just strays who helped each other live; he had been taken in by one of the elder members of the group when he was younger. It was like a feral soup kitchen, of sorts. "A secluded forest," Haxus answered with a shrug of his shoulders. He wasn't even quite sure where it was.

Redkit did not seem like the talkative bunch, and Haxus was not a talkative cat, so he was thankful for that. Not that he was annoyed by the questions that the two females had tossed his way, he was just a bit tired from his journey - the tabby had been walking for days before he'd finally stumbled across this place, he had been beginning to think it wasn't even real. "Nice to meet you, Redkit." A mountain lion cub? How strange - were they not scared that Redkit would grow large and eat them? These guys must have really put a lot of trust in each other, then, eh? That was good.

Haxus decided to address Billy, Vendetta, and Willowkit quickly and consecutively. He gave polite nods in their directions, and gave a half-hearted smile, as his had wavered the longer he stood here. Billy was an odd looking tom-kit, he wore a hat and a bandanna and that was certainly strange to Haxus. Was he pretending to be a cowboy? Why did he dress in human accessories? A former house-cat, perhaps? Moving on to Vendetta. Once again, her question threw him slightly off guard. Why were they all so interested in his background? It was not something that he was keen on talking about, he had left for a reason. "A group sort of like this one, but smaller." That was all he was willing to expose on the matter. "Hello Willowkit," he added after a few moments, paws shifting uncomfortably during the silence that had drawn out.

    "Which direction is camp?"

[justify]Ambassadors? Haxus wished he had been around for that - it sounded like something he would have been interested in, though perhaps there would be other opportunities in the future. No doubt, right? The blue tabby did not, in fact, have any questions, this announcement had been straight forward and easy to understand. Ambassadors had been assigned clans and were now waiting for the tiger up front to take them to the clans they had been assigned. The only cats who had questions would probably be the ones whose names were called out. Shaking his head slightly, Haxus sat down near the back just in case Praguespring had any other important announcements to say.

[justify]Well, if Haxus was being honest, that was pretty disgusting. Watching the metal teeth splice through her muscle so easily. A shudder zipped through the blue feline's body as he watched intently, but from a respectable distance. Haxus had absolutely no desires to assist in.. whatever plan they had to remove the trap from Padme, so he wasn't going to crowd around and stare at her like she was some sort of zoo animal. He frowned slightly at Chervil's suggestion, turning towards the deputy. "Can she even move her leg at all?" Haxus asked, tail flicking idly behind him as his yellow eyes surveyed the scene. Those metal traps looked like they were heavy enough to take down a bear, and he could only imagine how badly it must have damaged the advisor's own leg.

[justify]What the fuck was that? Haxus' yellow eyes narrowed slightly at the creature on the border. He didn't smell like WindClan, and he looked weird, so naturally, Haxus was wary of him. "Um," the blue tabby murmured, a frown on his face as he stared at Pepperstag. "Can I help you with something?" The way his tone came out, it sounded like the last thing that Hax wanted to do was help this guy.

[justify]The domestic feline approached the border of the Elite, the looming mansion seeming giant even from the distance that he respectfully waited at. Matthias had never been one to barge in on others' territory, and he certainly wasn't foolish enough to do so when he knew that a bunch of strangers would be there on the other side to collectively stop him. The alternative - patiently waiting - seemed much better, in his opinion. It seemed rude to call out, but Matthias had a difficult time believing that anyone could possibly know he was here unless he made his presence known. That being said, being boisterous was another trait that Matthias did not particularly possess. It wouldn't do him any good to humbly murmur his name, now would it? No.

With a roll of his eyes at his own thoughts, the tom cat simply remained seated at the border, trusting that the light breeze would waft his unfamiliar within the proximity of someone who had the authority to allow him to join the Elite. He had heard many mixed reviews about it, but he was eager to see what it was like for himself. The Elite. Even the name sounded enticing, but the tabby was already expecting everyone to be egomaniacs - with a name like that, how could they not be? Hopefully he'd be pleasantly surprised, but Matthias supposed that he would have to see for himself.

[justify]What an interesting way to start out his day. Matthias, personally, had little use for any of this information, but if he were going to become a part of a group, he might as well get to know the members a bit, right? So, that hellish looking beast next to him must have been one of the members who had been promoted, since they said 'thank you.' Which one were they? Ah well, Matthias figured that he would have plenty of time to figure it out. Perhaps he would hold a meet and greet; probably not, though, since they tended to be boring and repetitive.

"It would seem that congratulations are in order," Matthias mewed with a ghost of a smile and a quick twitch of his tail. His light eyes traveled from Interstellar to Rigatona, one of two leaders, it seemed. That was quite a heavy promotion, was it not? Leadership wasn't something to be taken lightly, and if her tone was always this lackluster, Matthias wasn't sure if she was even ready for the role. Who really ever was, though? The feline supposed the spaniel was doing her best with what she was given, and at least she had a co-leader - Sola, was it? - to assist her in her newfound leadership.

The promotions didn't particularly interest him, he wasn't really sure what any of the other ranks really meant, and the demotions provoked no feelings of sadness or condolences because he had never heard of any of the members being demoted. Perhaps he would see them around the mansion? Probably not, though, since a few had left the Elite entirely, and the others demoted for inactivity. Hm. Shame.

Ears flicking at the word 'dismissed,' Matthias figured he had no other reason to remain. He was about to leave when he decided that this would probably be a good opportunity to see who else he would have to get to know. Maybe he'd even get to meet the other leader.

[justify]What an interesting looking creature! Matthias' green eyes stared back at Luca's, and his fur involuntarily began to prickle along his spine. Perhaps it was the heart-shaped pupils, or maybe it was the amount of startling mutations that this.. fox-like animal possessed. Realizing it was probably rude to appear so cautious of someone who was to be his new clanmate, the tabby forced his fur to flatten, lowering his head to lick a few stray tufts of fur on his chest before clearing his throat.

"I'd like to join the Elite,"
Matthias stated clearly, dipping his head to Luca. "My name is Matthias. Who are you?" A better question probably would have been: What are you? But he didn't want to give off a bad first impression, they were always the hardest to reverse. He wasn't sure if that was all he had to say. Would he have to prove his loyalty? Answer a question? Would they make him eat dirt? Gross - why would they do that? Don't be an idiot, the tom scolded himself with an inaudible scoff.

[justify]Poisonedkit - what an odd name. Had her parents not liked her very much? He decided not to ask. The mispronunciation, although common, was not a nuisance to him. He'd gotten used to it long ago, and he didn't bother to correct her. Instead, the tomcat flashed her a smile and gave her a nod as well. "The pleasure is mine, I'm sure," he replied smoothly before turning his attention back to Luca. Matthias quite liked that name, but he wasn't one for handing out compliments that easily. "Unique," he settled upon. Lunae was another name he had not heard frequently - at least the variety here would never get dull. "Charmed to be among the ranks."

At least he knew the names of some of the fellows here - he wouldn't feel like a total outcast. Maybe he would end up holding a meet and greet after all, if it would help him integrate easier. "Thank you all for the welcomes." Could she call him Matt? Well, he didn't really care, he supposed. It wasn't preferable, but it wasn't the worst thing he'd been called. "Matt is fine, if Matthias is too much of a mouthful for you," he retorted with a quick grin.

    [justify]"Meet and greet!"

The words rang in his ears and he couldn't help but feel a wave of relief wash over him when he realized that he wouldn't need to be the one hosting one of these. It was always so overwhelming - being surrounded by creatures you didn't know, having to repeat your name seventeen times, having to remember everyone else's names. It was too much to be the host, so he preferred to be a guest. Matthias hadn't been that far off, but he hadn't made the decision to saunter over until a few others had arrived. His brown eyes flickered lazily from Cadence to Poisonedkit - he knew who the latter kitten was. Then Stella arrived and Matt's mind flashed back to the meeting that Rigatona had held earlier today. Stella. Interstellar, perhaps? They had been one of the members promoted, if his memory served him right. Ah, then the co-leader herself had arrived. Judging by her un-enthused introduction, Matthias figured that he would probably be better off simply calling her Rigatona. He wasn't a fan of his nickname, either, but he supposed it was better than 'Tona.

The heavy-built tom still had not moved from his spot, mostly because he had not yet felt compelled to. Lunae was the next to arrive, Matthias had met her as well, and then he caught the information he was waiting for. The hostess' name. Cadence, was it? Cady for short. Everyone here seemed to be fond of nicknames, except for the leader (and himself). After hearing Cady introduce herself, the tabby lifted himself to his paws and had made his way over to the slowly-growing group. "Matthias. It's truly a pleasure to meet your acquaintance." It wasn't really that much of a pleasure, but the brown and white feline figured that it benefited himself more to make friends rather than enemies. His head turned quickly at Anselm's arrival - he had not yet met this hellhound. There seemed to be quite a few of those around here, and he had yet to figure out what they were. They had an ominous aura about them, but Matthias was admittedly too scared to ask about it. He decided not to answer any of the questions that Cadence had asked, but it wasn't because he was trying to ignore her, he just figured that the answers others had already provided would suffice for the female.

[justify]Matthias liked to keep to a schedule, he was a guy of habit. He liked to wake up early, drink coffee, eat a quick breakfast, and go for a jog. He had just left his apartment and was out on the sidewalk doing stretches to begin his morning run. Exercise wasn't exactly a necessity for him, but it was pretty important. Matthias didn't really know why he liked to exercise so much, all he knew was that it made him feel good about himself.

Finishing up the last of his stretches, he placed his earbuds in his ears, chose shuffle, and started to run. After about half an hour of jogging, Matthias realized that he couldn't hear his music anymore. "Weird," he mumbled to himself as he reached for his iPod. A wave of panic swept over him as he realized that his earbuds weren't connected to anything. "You've got to be kidding me," Matthias groaned irritably, leaning up against the side of a nearby building and staring up at the sky. Somewhere along the few miles that he had jogged, Matt had managed to lose his goddamn iPod. Not really feeling properly motivated anymore, Matthias turned around and began to frantically search the streets for the device.. but he doubted that it would be where he had dropped it. People were only too keen to pick up shiny, expensive things.

[justify]The Elite was nice, but this place seemed a bit more.. his speed. He wasn't sure if the rules were the same here, but the feline assumed that they would, indeed, be similar. Learning from his previous encounter with the Elite, Matthias realized that the entire joining process could be sped up if he announced his presence and introduced himself when he arrived.

    "Matthias, joining."

It was short and simple. There was no need for grandeur when it came to introductions - in his opinion, anyways. Should he mention that he also held an alliance with the Elite? Would his dual membership cause any issues? Matt certainly hoped not, but he supposed that he would see when someone else arrived.
