I find Skype chats to be a lot more casual and easier for me to talk in, especially because I have a lot of social anxiety even online. I never had any actual close friends on this site until joining a clan Skype group.
That said, I also understand that they can often grow cliquey. On the other hand again, it often depends on the group in the chat and their willingness to accept new members. I dunno, they can be good or bad I suppose.

can i get information on their character? i can't give a good suffix without them.
it isn't about 'matching', it's about describing the character.

i grew up on these books and roleplaying traditionally! i really like doing traditional names, it's fun!!
so if you need help with a name for your traditional character: feel free to ask me here or via a pm!!

notable details about them:
clan in mind:

that isn't enough to warrant a suffix other than the 'pelt/fur/face' variety.
suffixes are not based off of personality, usually. they're typically based off of skill.

lavender wouldn't fit a black cat, but it should work for a seal point! :0

by notable traits, i don't really mean personality! i meant things more along the lines of hunting, fighting, their speed; anything you think that might warrant a suffix!
