A cool gust of wind rushed through the forest, rustling the new, verdant leaves in the tree tops. While from below, the sight was calming and somewhat pretty, a sparrow, tucked away in its nest, complained with loud chirps. Trashing branches was not a good place to raise frightened, but curious, newborns. A light brown tom with darker, orange markings glared up into the aspen and sighed. One day, when the chicks grew, he was going to steal the sitting feast.
Out of the corner of Pyris's amber and brown eyes, he spotted a fellow member, Achlys. "Hey!" He shouted, loosing concentration of the birds above. "What are you doing? Hunting? Bridge Patrol? Tell me!" His bobbed shook side to side with excitement as he spoke.
"I'm so bored, ahaha!" he added, tilting his head to the right and smiling.

"Haha. well, I haven't had much luck either. Mind you, I'v only been sitting here for the past while just watching that nest up there." Pyris chuckled. He smiled at her for a moment before suggesting, "Why don't we work together as a team? I'll chase rats out of the stone wall and you can pounce on them! Together, we will overpower the black rats!" He spoke with an abundance of enthusiasm, gesturing his idea with swivelling ears and a flashing claws. "What do you think, Achlys?" The hyper tom was practically bouncing on his tiptoes and circling the other member as he gasped out his words.

"None for certain," Amara replied dully. In the back of her mind, she reminisced to all the catnip wine and powder that she so desired a taste of. "It'll be hard to prepare for a festival, afterall, the flood last season washed away our entire supply of dried catnip." She shook her head, still in disbelief of the misfortune. Setting her attention back on Pompeii's words, she nodded in agreement. "Perhaps we could send those two," she flicked her tail towards the excitable tom and Achlys, "To collect catnip, or atleast pull in a bit more prey. We could go with them too, and find out what's distracting her."

The tom glared at the leaves for a moment, zoning out from reality. A few moments later, he was snapped back to the world. "Achlys?" he asked a bit shocked by her disappearance.

Amara snickered at Pyris's frantic dash after Achlys. She returned her ears to the plan; it wasn't a bad suggestion. "Sure, why don't you go with both of them? I can take the the others to collect catnip." The thought of touching rats made her paws twitch. She couldn't stand the idea of hunting the dirty, and often disease-ridden creatures.

Pyris shook his bobbed tail enthusiastically. Achlys had laughed at him; that must have meant that she was totally into him, at least in his own thinking. The tom was determined to impress her on the hunting trip. He couldn't afford to slip up or make mistakes, embarrassing himself and ruining his chances of winning her love. "Let's do this!" he said to himself before leaping after the she-cat and trailing a little behind her and to her left. He too scanned his surroundings, looking for the rat residence.

Amara smiled as she watched the cats walk off to begin their hunt, then she turned the opposite direction to find the rest of the members. A while later, as she was trekking through the forest, she caught the fresh scent of dog and twoleg. Moments later, the trashing of paws through the forest ground sounded just off to her right. It seemed almost deafening up close and with ears straining for the smallest of sounds. She could have sworn that she heard the claws of a cat scratch against the bark of a tree just ahead of her.
Curiously, she gave the air another taste. Almost masked by the reek of dog, she caught the scent of a clan members. Following the invisible trail, she found Jupiter up in a tree. "Hey there!" she called out. "Dogs, eh?"

I'm pretty sure emojis can only be viewed on iOS (iPods/iPads/ect...)
Someone using a desktop not associated with apple would see something else. For example, I see a blank box, signifying that my computer does not have the ability to display the symbol. A lot of other symbols will show up as boxes, such as pictorial languages or foreign letters/writing.

I loved the competition last year.
Warpy, I was wondering if I could take on a slightly different role. ^^
I'd be interested in serving as a mentor to competitors, giving them tips, helping with anatomy, and teaching them about drawing softwares and the tools that come with them. I wouldn't be able to make deadlines as a competitor because I'll be travelling out of the country this summer. But yeah, I think it would be fun to help out a bit.

She was slightly irritated at his sudden appearance and demonstrated her thoughts with a stern stare of disapproval. "Perhaps take some catnip to calm your nerves before heading back to the hunt."
