"Oh....I didn't know that", he said softly. "I'm sorry for bringing it up", he said with a deeply apologetic look on his face. He placed a hand lightly on the God's shoulder. He seemed to hesitate for a second before speaking again.

"I don't think she died because of you though. She chose to be with you until the end. Humans aren't incapable of telling when things are going wrong. She probably knew what was happening and chose to spend her remaining life with the one she loved. It's pretty romantic actually", he said with a soft smile.

"Oh, um", she paused in her gathering and thought for a minute. "You know what? I'll eat whatever kind you want", she smiled at him before returning to the supplies. With arms now fully loaded, she made her way to the kitchen to begin setting things up. She hoped Evangeline liked everything that they had picked out.

She sighed as she looked at the clock. A lot of work would be waiting for her when she got home. It was alright though because she needed a break. Her head moved from side to side as she stretched out her neck. A knot had formed in her right shoulder muscle.

"Don't let fear keep you from doing something. All you'll have left is regrets. Just my piece of human advice", he said with a wink. His eyes locked onto the night sky and an amused smile formed on his face as anticipating began to form. "Yeah I should probably start heading that way", he said before starting to move away from the shrine. Hopefully fate isn't wanting to be a cruel mistress tonight, he thought with an amused smirk.

Adan watched as Ash threw the letter into the trash. His eyes trailed it's path till it landed on the pile of letters that lay scattered at the bottom. "I know it's usually the same message but I always feel bad about them being thrown away", he said with a sigh. He grabbed the basket and brought it into the room.

He had given up returning the food but he always found a way to return the gadgets. It never felt right for him to keep them. "Why don't we go to the main place", he suggested. They always had a wide variety and, like the breakfast club, seemed to go pretty quickly. Not to mention, he was feeling pretty hungry this morning as his stoumach soon proved with a loud grumble.

"The back way's fine with me", he answered cheerfully. He took one last look at the room before closing the door and following after Ash. "I always feel like I should get him something", Adan said with a sigh as the basket popped back into his mind. It was pointless, however, because then the gifts just got bigger. He had learned his lesson after that and just silently accepted them.

"Oh well at least I return the expensive stuff", he said with a sigh before putting his arms behind his head in a stretch. He walked a bit longer before the scent of breakfast reached his nose. As soon as the scent reached him, his ears and tail popped out. "Oh come on! I was doing so well too", he complained as his ears and tail drooped.

The sound of amused laughter made his ears perk up. He looked around to see who was laughing at him. He was doing his best but sometimes things like food and emotions got in the way.

"Anastasia, it's nice to meet you as well", she smiled. Once introductions were completed, she checked to make sure everyone was good to go. "Alright then, follow us", she said before giving Doranth the go ahead. And please make some more fire, she asked him as they started back towards her home.

Doranth turned around and began to lead the way. His claws dug into the ground with ease as he maneuvered his way through the barren trees. His eyes were narrowed to help keep the cold wind at bay. He took in a deep breathe of air before sending it traveling down to his stoumach. He felt his rider nestle against his scales as they began to heat up once more.

"We have a lot of space for the dragons to roam", she shouted to the others as they traveled."It's a bit of a journey but I think you'll like it there. Some of the staff can be a bit uptight but just let me know if they give you too much trouble."

((Nope doesn't matter! I was just creating an opening for one to appear :) ))

Adan scrunched his eyes to try and get the tail and ears to dissappear. It was to no avail, however, as the footsteps and laughter got closer. He let out a restrained sigh before looking to see who it was. His eyes showing the slightest bit of irritation for getting laughed at. His tail had also begun to bristles slightly.

Matthew nodded his head, "You bet! As long as fate willl have it that way", he shouted back. A quick wave of his hand was seen before he headed back down the road. The spirit from earlier was gone but that didn't mean he was cleared completly.

A sigh escaped from his lips as he traveled down the different roads. Each one was wider than the last till he eventually wound up in front of his house. "Well that's that I guess", he said with a chuckle. His eyes took in the lighted window pane at the front of the house.

"Hey mom", he called in as he entered the front door. His mom stirred from her nap and turned to him with a smile. She welcomed him home and asked how his day was. A few more questions later and she bid him goodnight. "Night", he responded before heading to his room for sleep.

Matthew woke up that morning and let out a yawn. He rubbed his eyes to clear them of sleep before swinging his legs out of bed. His feet hit the floor with a soft thud as he got up. Movement caught his attention and he glanced to see the spirit that hung around his house.

"I see you're active today", he mumbled sleepily. The spirit blinked back at him but that was it. It didn't hold the shape of a creature but just looked like a black mass. One eye stood out in the center as it stared at him. "Right, good talk."

Matthew made his way out of the house. He had gotten up early for once which, thankfully, meant breakfast. A store sat in close proximity to his house. It always had a pretty good selection of breakfast items.

Matthew grabbed the cheapest thing and paid. He unwrapped his food and stared out across the parking lot. Well, there was no time like the present. He headed off back towards the shrine.

Every road he was unsure of he let his gut lead the way. Eventually, he came to a road that look unfamiliar. A sound nearby caught his attention and he glanced over. A bigger yokai had moved in close proximity to him. His eyes widened and he took a step back to appreciate the yokai.

"Wow you're a good sized one, aren't ya?", he said before moving his hand towards the yokai. It sniffed his hand a deep growl came rumbling from its chest. He knew well enough when he was outmatched and a nervous laugh escaped him,"do I offend?"

The creature just let out another growl before moving towards him. "Right, I get the hint", he said before taking off. A loud roar was heard before heavy footsteps followed after him. Please lead to the shrine. Please lead to the shrine, he chanted over and over as he ran.

Mira sat there in a mixture of shock and surprise as the creature talked to her. She opened her mouth but words refused to form. The shock of being spoken to by the creature caused the energy crackling around her to calm. Eventually, a timid voice spoke to him. "My name is Mira. What should I call you?"

The magician, seeing the time for self introductions as a perfect opportunity, sent the ball of energy flying towards the demon. They would take him out and save their lady. Certainly it had been a mistake and she couldn't have done this. The demon had to be using her.

"Something like that", Adan mumbled. He tugged at his ears but they remained proudly on top of his head. "You think they'll be gone before class", he asked Ash. His head tilted to the side as he considered the question himself.

His eyes went to Scar and he nodded his head. "Yeah we are heading to main court actually. Figured it'd be pretty quick and we, or at least I, am starving." His eyes focused on the food court and his stoumach growled. "Sorry that's my cue", he said before heading towards the food court again.

Gasps of shock and fear rumbled through the crowd. The oldest amongst them remembered a time of war when the demon had stepped foot on their land. Others remembered stories being told to them by the elders or through their family history. The books of old spoke of times when the demons had brought terror to them.

Mira sat there as the name rang a bell. Her head tilted sideways as she tried to remember. Each time she tried to grasp the name it slipped through her fingers. After a minute had passed a sound of nervous laughter came from her as she anxiously glanced at the crowd.

Anger and distress was making the crowd shift in their seats. "The demon prince. It's the demon prince. Why did she summon the demon prince? She should be banished. What if it's an accident", were the things whispered amongst the crowd.

A sound of a large stick being tapped against the crowd silenced everyone. All eyes went to the Grand Magicians who sat in the best seats. Her father and mother looked down at her but didn't give away their emotions to the crowd. She knew, however, they knew as well as she did that this hadn't been an accident.

"This is now an official manner. Everyone else please return to their homes. We and the council shall take things from here", her father ordered. People complained but started to trickle out of the area. Mira, meanwhile, was glancing at her new companion. "How could I have summoned you", she muttered.

Matthew took a deep breathe of air as he worked on catching his breathe. "Thanks", he said after a few seconds. "I told you yesterday that I don't do exorcisms. Hey! We could be a ghost hunting duo though. You do the exorcism part and I'll do the publicity part", he joked.

"Seriously though, thanks. I thought I was going to be a snack for that guy", he said with a shake of his head. His eyes glanced around before locking onto the shrine. "Wow can't believe it was so close", he muttered. "I usually don't go by directions though so that might be part of my problem", he replied sheepishly.

His eyes went to Natsume's katana and lit up with interest. "Hey~ want to let me see that", he said as as he sidled up to Natsume. He had been interested in swords and katana's but they were always so expensive. Having the chance to look at one up close was something he couldn't miss.

Anastasia and Doranth made their way over the snowy terrain. Doranth was irritated with all the snow underfoot but kept marching on. His rider held tightly onto a spike and watched the snowy surrounding as the passed. Her body stayed close against his to keep warm in this biting wind.

"Probably a little bit of everything", he said with a sheepish laugh. Relief flooded through him when they finally entered the building. He was quick to swipe his card and enter the food area. Different parts had different items and, luckily for Adan's wallet, it was all you could eat.

"Where do you want to go first", he asked Ash as his eyes looked over everything. It all sounded good to him so he could start wherever. His tail wagged as the smell of food surrounded him. All thoughts of his appearance out of mind are at the moment.

The hyena pack stood a chance against cubs but with at least two big cats nearby they were outarmed. A quick sound of retreat scattered through the pack and they turned tail. Chi's tail whipped back and forth in irritation before turning to face the mother Cheetah and the orphaned cubs.

A quick sniff of the air told her she wasn't the Cubs mother. Her eyes held the Cheetah's for a moment before giving a nod in greeting. She didn't sit down because she wasn't sure how the Cheetah would react yet. Her ears swiveled as she listened for anything approaching as she turned her back to the rest of the Savannah.

"Or-", Matthew said as he slid out from Natsume's arm. "You could throw the sword, sheathed of course, and we let fate decide." His tone was joking to keep the situation light but he wasn't against the idea. Things always worked best when he stuck to his gut.

"Is it cool if I hang out here today? It seems fate would allow our meeting", he smiled. He had a laid back nature around him and he almost seemed care free. Just seeming to go with the flow of things.

((This is just a plot idea but what if there is a reason Matthew goes by fate all the time? Something to do with his demi-God status and the last time he refused to go with the flow something terrible happened? That could be why he always relies on fate. Something could happen to Natsume later and he has to defy fate in order to help him or save his? Again, just an idea! Let me know what you think :) ))

((Awesome! So I came up with two ideas of why fate could have such a big impact on them but if you have more then I'm definitely open to suggestions. So first is that his father is a God of chance. Since his father is a god of chance then defying chance causes his abilities to make the opposite happen. Second is that his father could be a God of something else but did something to anger the Fates. They decide to curse the half-blood of the God who angered them
They couldn't outright attack the God so now the child has to be a prisoner of fate or suffer the consequences.))

Matthew watched as the katana went flying through the air. "I believe that I should follow fate's guidance. Things happen when I don't", he muttered as he watched the katana start it's path down. His hand clenched as he focused on what he should do.

At the last second, when it seemed like it would be going for the ground, Matthew caught it. His eyes scanned over the sheath and a smirk played over his lips. "You just wanted to keep this thing to yourself didn't you", he complained with a teasing smirk. He admired the weight of the katana,"this isn't as heavy as I thought it would be", he laughed.
