the last thing erza could remember was a being chased by a large creature. the feline was sprinting at probably the fastest speed she had ever gone at in her life to flee it, as it came closer and closer. no, the beast wasn't merely chasing her, he was hunting her. that realisation brought dread flooding into her heart, as she dashed for dear life. however it drew nearer, and nearer...

how she ended up here was a mystery.

the pain engulfed her as soon as she woke up. at first it enveloped her body, but soon it was obvious that the most prominent injury she had received was with her right eye. though her form throbbed and ached all over, it paled in comparison to her right optic. what on earth happened? the female shakily raised a paw to her eye, withdrawing it quickly when she felt a sticky substance coat her paws. blood. of course erza had had her fair deal of cuts and scrapes, plus she had to eat some meat to survive, you know, so the sanguine fluid didn't faze her too much. she wasn't the type of person to cry at a measly graze, but for the first time in a while she felt tears stain her cheeks.

the ginger feline groaned as she tried to stand up, a pretty bad choice on her part since that only worsened her pain. her vision had remained hazy since she had fully become conscious again, though with her right eye in the state it was in, she doubted her sight would be exactly 20/20. a few pounding heartbeats later, erza managed to just about make out whatever lay in front of her.

however, the female wasn't exactly sure what to expect of ending up right in front of a huge stone staircase... never mind one leading up to a series... were those floating islands? the huge masses of land drifting right above her weren't exactly an ordinary sight, especially not with her experience of the world spanning a short 9 months. maybe the monster was hiding behind the stairs, waiting to pounce! or had she narrowly escaped...? whatever the case, the stairs were definitely suspicious, albeit compelled her curiosity.

well never mind all that. even if she had wanted to, there was no way she could've climbed those stairs in her current state. her mind had been in such a jumbled condition that erza hadn't even thought of one of the most important things to do until then.

erza had never been so happy or relieved to hear another voice. from what she could tell, the source of the voice sounded from above her, so it must've been someone approaching her from the stairs. the feline tilted her head upwards tentatively to see who the voice belonged to, and was met with a dark pelted canine figure.

the lucina person seemed to be kind, something which comforted the female. despite the fact that a small part of her refused to trust this stranger, she couldn't help but want to let all of that go and rely fully on the wolf. [b]"erza..."

soon she sensed more people approaching. by this point in time erza had given up trying to pry her eyes open. the scuffle of paws here and there made it clear that more had come to the scene whilst some probably left to find assistance, and she even heard other voices joining in. someone who knew lucina, other murmurs of concern, even exclamations of horror.

her ears twitched. i'm here. was this the medic that they had been referring to?

erza's whimpers of pain were softened when she heard a calming voice of reassurance. however her body still shook uncontrollably, despite the hope granted with news of the medic's arrival. it was incredibly weird feeling the pain being drained from her, and erza felt quite concerned for the stranger who now contained her feelings of pain. however there was nothing she could do but lay there and wait for the medic to finish treating her. the feline had a feeling her right ocular was pretty damaged, but the female only confirmed how messed up it really had become when she said she couldn't save it. with a shaky breath, erza softly spoke, [b]"t-that's okay. i don't need it..." losing her eye couldn't be the worst thing, and she would try to brave through all this.

the female hadn't been here long, and she'd spent most of that time resting after the whole ordeal that happened when she first arrived. erza's wounds were healing quite nicely, though one thing that would never be fixed was her right eye, which was covered with a white eyepatch that she had found. however she somewhat didn't mind. losing an eye may have seemed like a huge thing to someone else, but she was just glad to have come out of the whole thing alive.

erza was extremely grateful for the place's hospitality and help. she wished she could've repaid them, but a small kitten like her couldn't do much at all, especially in the state she was in. that's why the feline decided she would stay here for a little while longer, and try not to be a burden at the same time.

but in the meanwhile... erza didn't even know where or what this place was. all she could assume was that she was now in those floating islands that she had seen earlier. after all that lady who had helped her - lucina, was it? - had emerged from atop the large staircase which had led to them. as erza looked around her everything seemed normal, as if she were just on any ordinary ground. but floating islands... that was pretty cool.

the feline had been wondering around camp for a short while now before she plonked herself on the ground and exhaled a small sigh. she should probably get to know the group, or she would never be integrated into the place she had decided to call her home. the ginger pelted feline cleared her throat before saying, as loudly as she dared, [b]"um, hello. my name is erza - erza scarlet. it's nice to meet you all..."

erza was rather surprised that so many (it was only three but that was quite a lot to her) people had approached her so quickly. they all looked pretty friendly though, which brought a small smile onto her face. [b]"ah, it's a pleasure to meet you too, parispaw!" the feline stared in awe of the dainty and delicate female.

next to come was someone who, too, had recently been injured, evident so by the cobwebs that covered parts of her body. "hello." erza wasn't sure who they were as they hadn't introduced themselves or anything but would politely reply to their greeting anyways.

"hello! and the same to you, blaine." dang were there so many faces to remember. she had thought quite a few people had come to her when she had called for help, but this place must've been bigger and had more residents than she thought.

"s-so... could you tell me a bit more about, um, this place? i'm afraid i don't know very much at all..." erza's cheeks were a faint and barely noticeable pink from her slight embarrassment as she admitted that.

erza turned to fifteenpaw, giving the male a small smile in return for his bright beam to her. [b]"i don't think we've met before, so, its nice to meet you, fifteenpaw." the feline thought his name was somewhat peculiar since she had never come across the concept of 'warrior style names', but oh well. "and that would be great!" the girl could definitely use a tour of the place.

"hello, hiraethpaw!" so he was new as well? erza was glad that she wasn't the only stranger to the place.

then erza's attention was on the male with a name that was incredibly similar to hers. she couldn't believe that she had come across someone named ezra who lived in her home, though she supposed that it was just as likely that she might've come across another animal named erza. "nice to meet you, ezra." she flicked her tail in greeting and gave him a small nod of her head.

erza recognised the next person. tama had been one of the people there when she was injured. the female recognised her familiar voice and was forever grateful for tama for taking away most of the pain that came with her injuries. "ah, yes. i remember. thank you so much, tama. i am forever indebted to you." the feline dipped her head. "and i am much better, thank you."

damn more and more people just kept coming. erza would have to try hard to remember all these names and faces. "hello, wisteriapaw. and oh, that's too bad.." the concept of her having a pet was foreign to the ginger pelted feline. she could vaguely remember her mother warning her of how these creatures called humans would occasionally take one of their own to become a 'pet'. was it the same concept?

the female then turned to the tiger, quite amazed by his size and his wings. she had never seen such a wide range of creatures so the whole experience was almost overwhelming. erza dipped her head back to soren, then nodded her head in reply to his question. "it's nice to meet you, soren. and yes, i am! everyone has been so welcoming and lovely." for a moment erza pondered over the male's fancy sounding name. her own name was rather plain, and scarlet wasn't even her real surname or anything.
