[fancypost borderwidth=0px; color: black; font-family: timesnewroman; font-size: 12px; text-align: justify; width: 420px; height:;]OOC: I was thinking something similar! I love the idea! We should probably have them get captured once they reach the border. Maybe there could be a a group of soldiers waiting for them there? I also really like this plot, as it has the ability to be as long as we want it to be!

IC: Lukas nodded as she talked about their recent flight. He was relieved to know that she had little problem carrying him while flying, and glad he hadn't hurt her or anything of the like. Lukas watched her with an amused expression on his face before gratefully accepting the small piece of bread, now warmed, thanks to her fire. He stuffed it in his mouth, if only to buy time in order to form an answer to Eliza's question. Reluctantly, the young man swallowed and then, unnecessarily, cleared his throat. "Well, I haven't ever been out of the kingdom before, so I'm hoping that whatever waits outside will lead me to a safer place." He paused and quickly glanced up at her. To his dismay, Lukas couldn't quite read her expression, but he could tell something similar to doubt laced her features. Having nothing else to lose, The young man continued. "That's probably my number one priority." He declared. "I just want to find a village with people like us. Where people with our powers aren't put to death." Lukas finished. Just then, something crossed his mind that he hadn't put much thought into, aside from right now. Would she want to come with me?

Lukas rose from his spot on the forest floor. With a quick glance at the sky, he could tell they had a few hours left before it was dark. After slinging his bags over his broad shoulders, Lukas extended his hand out of Eliza. "Care to run some more?" he asked with a smirk that so commonly played on his lips. As the two prepared for their next run, Lukas couldn't help but think that if she decided to leave him, life outside of the Kingdom would become much more unbearable than he'd originally thought.[/fancypost]

"Well Gwen, that's the beauty of this town. It's so small that everybody knows everybody. You and I might as well get acquainted!" he chuckled. Before she could decline his offer, Grayson sat down next to her in a way that would make it seem as if they had been friends for years. Sure he could have any girl he wanted, but Grayson was infatuated with this new girl. Ignoring the baffled glances from his peers, the young man smirked at Gwen before rattling off the beginning of what was soon to be many questions. "So where did you move from?"

Liz shook her hands excitedly. "Oh my gosh! What a cool name!" She exclaimed. Sam looked towards the water, her eyes squeezed shut. This whole interaction was mortifying, but of course, Liz was oblivious to what Sam was feeling at this moment. She never seemed to just shut up. "Oh and our names. I'm Liz" She announced, with far to much emphasis on her name. Liz then gestured to Sam. "And she's Samantha, but you can just call her Sam" She added, though in a much less engaging voice. It seemed that she was trying to keep all of Ezra's attention to herself. Not that it completely mattered, anyway. Sam had no intent to talk to this guy. She'd rather stab herself in the eye with a fork.

Not sure where you would go after that, but it was just a thought. Would you prefer to just start, or plan out the rest?

It was a clear Saturday night, and Liam was spending it in the backseat of a cop car, hands cuffed behind his back. Sure the only thing he had to blame for this was himself, but that thought did nothing to calm the blistering rage that festered deep within his stomach. It had seemed like a such a good idea at the time to just snatch a few items off the store shelf when he thought no one was looking. Expensive items, yeah, but Liam didn't quite expect to find himself here, just 30 minutes later.

Liam shifted in his seat a few times, attempting to ease the pains that ached throughout his wrists, with no such luck. The god damned handcuffs were going to be the death of him. After finally giving up on the idea of being comfortable, Liam resorted to staring out of the tinted glass window. Given where they were at, it would only be a few minutes before they arrived at the station. He groaned, which resulted in a sharp reprimand from the nearest cop. "Just shut the hell up, would ya?" The officer growled from the front seat. Liam bit back a nasty response, seeing no other option than to oblige to their demands.

Sure enough, only four minutes had passed before they pulled in the the police station. Once they had parked, the officers exited the vehicle, muttering something Liam couldn't quite catch into their radio. It didn't take long for the two to drag him out from the car and toward the entrance. The one who had been driving quickly looked Liam over. "It's in your best interest to just keep your mouth shut. Save your complaints for your cellmate" He advised sharply. Liam muttered a string of curses as they entered the building, earning himself a kick in the shin.

Liam trudged along after the officers, who took him to a small, confined room with no windows. The only exit was the metal door that they had come in through, and considering they had locked it on their way out, he was stuck here until someone decided to come back. Liam heaved an exhausted sigh as he sunk into the chair that was provided for him. This was going to be a long night. A very long night indeed.

Dakota awoke to the beeping of his alarm clock that Monday morning. After muttering a few curses, he reached over and hit the snooze button, figuring he could afford to lose five minutes from his morning. After a moment or two of staring at his bare ceiling, Dakota rolled himself out of bed and turned off his alarm. He groggily trudged to his bathroom and quickly brushed his teeth. When he finished with that, he hurriedly combed his brown, shaggy hair and then left back to his bedroom. After a few minutes of digging through his disorganized closet, Dakota finally settled on a pair of jean shorts and a fitted grey shirt. With a satisfied smile, he made his way downstairs.

His parents had already left for work long before Dakota had gotten up, which left the task of finding breakfast up to him. The young man poured himself a small bowl of cereal and wolfed it down quickly. Once finished, he grabbed his backpack and slung it over his shoulder before heading out the door and to his bus stop. Dakota sat near the back of the bus, along with the rest of the popular kids. Upon boarding, he nodded his greetings to a few of his closer friends before slumping down into the only empty seat left available.

It didn't take long to get to school, considering his house was about a five minute's drive from it. When the bus pulled into the drop off section of the parking lot, Dakota rose from his spot and stepped into the aisle, waiting to get off. Soon enough, he was walking into the school and towards his locker for the year. He entered his combination, causing his locker to pop open. Dakota quickly stuffed his backpack in and pulled out all the books he would need for his first class. Once he had all of his materials, Dakota slammed his locker shut and navigated the hall, looking for his first class.

Though school had been in session for about a week now, Dakota still had trouble memorizing the locations of all of his classes. After a while of searching, the young man had finally found the correct room. He entered briskly and headed toward the back of the classroom, where he was able to get away with slacking off. Dakota sat down and immediately pulled out his cell phone and ear buds. He turned his music all the way up in order to tune out the group of girls who were gossiping next to him.

He dished out some of the food for himself before taking a seat next to Arin. For the most part, they ate in silence until Lukas spoke up. "So are you ready to go get some more food after this?" He asked Arin with a serious look on his face. It had stopped raining some time during the night, so he presumed they would be safe outside for now. The worst that they could possibly see were the dead bodies that were scattered across the streets. [/fancypost]

[fancypost borderwidth=0px; color: black; font-family: timesnewroman; font-size: 12px; text-align: justify; width: 420px; height:;]Lukas grinned as they took off into the woods. They ran steadily for a while before Lukas heard a rustle deep within the woods. He slowed to a stop, willing Eliza to do the same. "Sh. Eliza, do you hear that noise?" He asked, concern showing on his face. He waited for the noise to sound again before making his decision. Lukas looked at Eliza. "I think we should probably ignore it. It could just be a rabbit or something" He pondered, though he didn't quite believe his own words. With a shrug of his broad shoulders, Lukas started walking again, only this time, he used his powers to cover what ever noise the two of them made.

Once he figured they had passed the creature, the young man began jogging again, his breathing labored. Lukas pushed every thought from his mind and focused on the task at hand. They'd be able to stop and set up camp in an hour or so, if things went as planned. Somewhere along the way, Lukas began humming quietly to himself. It was a tune he had only heard a few times, sung to him by his mother when he was little. When he realized he was doing it, hit face grew hot and he muttered an apology to Eliza. He probably sounded awful to someone else. They endured the rest of that hour in silence, only the birds' whistling to keep them company.

Once the sun fell over the horizon, Lukas slowed his pace and took long measured breaths. Though he had trained for it, he was still surprised at how hard running long distance was. After a short while of searching, they had found a suitable area for camp and Lukas began gathering materials for a fire. He later returned with a pile of fallen branches and some twigs. Lukas skillfully set them up in the middle of their small camp and left it to Eliza to light them. [/fancypost]

[fancypost borderwidth=0px; color: black; font-family: timesnewroman; font-size: 12px; text-align: justify; width: 420px; height:;]Lukas listened intently as Eliza talked to him about his nightmares. Though he didn't typically enjoy being the center of attention, part of him was grateful that she understood what he was going through. That night, Lukas attempted to use the little advice she had given him, so he took a moment to mull over what made him happy. After a few minutes of thinking about this, he finally came up with his answer. Satisfied, the young man spread out his sleeping back next to where Eliza lay. He quietly tucked himself underneath the ratty covers, before murmuring "Night Eliza" in response. He closed his eyes and allowed his breathing to settle, all while thinking about how the two of them had met, and that he was forced to go through this alone.

He had made it through half the night before shooting up out of his sleeping bag, sweat dotting his brow. Lukas sighed angrily as he trudged to the opposite side of the fire. The young man sat down and put his face in hands, trying to forget about his most recent nightmare. This one had been about his family, captured and killed for not turning Lukas over to the king. His throat ached, no doubt because he had been screaming. He glanced back over at Eliza, glad that she still appeared to be sleeping. Lukas then looked up at the sky. It was still dark out, and the stars glistened brilliantly against the pitch blackness of the night. After some thought, Lukas laid down on his back and stared up at the sky, attempting to clear his mind. He must have stayed like that for quite some time, as he was still awake when the first rays of sunlight began to peak through the trees. Quietly muttering to himself, Lukas rose to his feet with the intent to prepare a small breakfast for the two of them.

It didn't take long before Lukas had gathered a small assortment of dried fruits. He took note of what they had left and decided against anything more. They would need to be careful of how much they consumed. The young man resumed humming to himself as he laid out the fruit on the same cloth he had used for the bread. When he finished, pleased with his work, Lukas made his way to where Eliza was sleeping and crouched down beside her. He gently prodded her until her eyes fluttered open. "Hey Eliza, time to get up, alright?" he said gently. If they didn't get moving now, the two of them wouldn't make it to the border until tomorrow, which was something neither of them could afford. Liam couldn't help but jump in his seat as the cell door swung open abruptly, surprising him. But what surprised him even more was the fact that it was a woman who came to retrieve him, and her cheek was turning and unusual shade of purple. Liam stole a moment to compose himself before rising out of the small wooden chair that had been provided for him. He hadn't noticed how short the room's ceiling was until he realized that he had to stoop a little lower in order to stand. With a long, frustrated sigh, he joined the officer at the cell door and followed her through the building, well aware of the sneers that were sent in their direction.

As they walked, Liam was careful to keep his mouth shut, lest he say something that could get him into deeper, more serious trouble. Instead, he dissected what the officer had said when she entered his cell, moments before. He couldn't help but notice how she took a pause in between her sentence. It seemed as if getting questioned would be the least of his worries. A pit formed in Liam's stomach. Though he would never admit it, he was slightly afraid of what was to come.

When they had finally reached what seemed to be their destination, Liam grew nervous. This room was slightly larger than the previous cell he had been in. This time, though, there was a small table along the side of the room, accompanied by various metal chairs. He went to take a seat in the nearest one, per the officer's request. Just as she turned to leave, Liam blurted out what had been on his mind since the moment he saw her. "What happened to your face?" he wondered aloud, wincing at his choice of words. He didn't mean to offend her, but hey, it looked pretty serious. Liam braced himself for a reprimand, which surely was to come.

I have zero intention of hurting you or humiliating you, so you can stop acting like I'm going to kidnap you any second." His words came out sharper than he intended, but he paid no bother. Instead, he rose to his feet and offered his hand. "In fact, how about I show you around town?" Grayson suggested with an encouraging smile. God, she was like a deer in headlights. He almost pitied her.

Sam could have killed herself for saying that aloud. She looked over at Ezra, red faced, and rolled her eyes. "In case you didn't realize this, that was kind of the point. A fork in the eye would be less painful than this conversation" She spewed, letting her anger get the best of her. Sam debated storming away, but she decided against it. She didn't want to give him the satisfaction of seeing how uncomfortable she was. Liz stared, dumbfounded at her, mouth hanging open. Never had she seen this kind of anger from her best friend. Sam cringed inwardly.

[fancypost borderwidth=0px; color: black; font-family: timesnewroman; font-size: 12px; text-align: justify; width: 420px; height:;]Lukas sat down next to Eliza as she ate. Though he wasn't particularly hungry, he decided it would probably best to eat, if only to make up for energy he lost by not sleeping. Lukas popped a few pieces of fruit in his mouth, leaving the bulk of it for Eliza. Though he was concerned he wasn't eating enough himself, the young man decided to put Eliza before him. He made sure she was first priority from this point onward. For everything she had given up for him, it only seemed fair.

After they finished their meal, Lukas rose to his feet and brushed of his clothes. More grime coated them than he'd expected after only two days. He decided that once they escaped the kingdom, the first thing he wanted to do was to get were some new, clean clothes. For now though, he was stuck in his current apparel. After stuffing his sleeping bag back into his burlap sack, Lukas hoisted them over his shoulder. Since he was feeling pretty well off today, he even offered to carry Eliza's pack. He added it to his own supplies and sent a smile in her direction. He noticed the way in which she put the fire, and couldn't help but laugh, something he hadn't done in days. It felt nice. Lukas nodded along as she spoke, her voice full of hope. He listened happily, relishing this moment of peace. Today was bound to be a good day for the both of them.

Lukas joined Eliza where she stood, waiting. "So how did you manage to inhale that fire earlier?" He asked, chuckling quietly. He wanted to ask about it right after she had done it, but decided they could use some conversation as they ran. Lukas took off at a brisk jog, matching his pace to Eliza's. He figured they would be able to reach the Kingdom's border before sundown, if they kept the steady pace. To take his mind off of his burning calves, Lukas imagined what life would be like once they'd escape. Whatever it turned out to be, in the end, he just hoped he met more people like him. Like Eliza.[/fancypost]

He nudged her with his elbow. "There's no need to be." He reassured with a slight smile. Grayson pointed to the small cafe that overlooked the beach. "Hungry?" He asked. Without waiting for her to answer, he tugged her toward the building.

Sam once again rolled her eyes at him, almost not believing this conversation was happening. "Well not everyone is the same, okay? Just because everyone else is wrapped around your finger, doesn't mean that I am too" She chocked out. Liz elbowed her in the ribs, causing Sam to wince ever so slightly. Liz offered an apologetic smile to Ezra before dragging Sam away and out of earshot.

"Are you crazy!? Stabbing your eye with a fork, really?" She demanded, dumbfounded. Sam sighed and glanced over to where Ezra stood, still watching them. She turned back to Liz. "I'm nothing like you Liz! I don't want to talk to cute guys all day!" Sam admitted, though louder than necessary. She stormed past the two of them in the direction of her car. It had been a mistake to come to the beach in the first place.

Most of them glanced away once he had caught them staring in their direction. When the two arrived at the small cafe, Grayson found a small table and sat down, gesturing for Gwen to do the same. Grayson quickly ordered some food for them and resumed asking Gwen questions. "So how long have you been here?" he asked after taking a sip of his water.

Sam turned around to face Ezra, mouth opened slightly. "I don't care what you said, stop acting like your above everyone else. I don't care how cute you are, that's not going to get you very far" she mused, face turning pink at the realization that she called him cute. Sam opened her mouth to say something else, but nothing came out. She probably looked like an idiot out here.

[fancypost borderwidth=0px; color: black; font-family: timesnewroman; font-size: 12px; text-align: justify; width: 420px; height:;]Lukas listened intently as she explained more about her powers. He would be happy to listen to her talk all day, but he found himself pleasantly surprised when she asked about his powers. He cleared his throat, shifting the weight of their bags to his other shoulder. Lukas drew in a deep breath before speaking. "Well, Dragoness" He began with a winning smile. "That other day when I conjured up that colored illusion was probably my most recent trick. Usually my illusions only come in black and white. It was probably because I had such a stunning model to go off of." Lukas laughed. He thought about his other abilities before adding on to what he said just a second ago, more serious this time. "No, but for real, I think the most significant thing I've leaned lately would have to be raising whole armies of shadow figures from the ground, and then controlling them individually." Lukas mused. He noticed her glance back at the bags he carried multiple times. "You can take yours back if you would like, but I'm okay carrying it." He insisted. He truly didn't mind doing this one thing for her.

After realizing she probably wasn't going to let the whole bag thing go, Lukas surrendered hers over. He wasn't going to admit it, but the lighter load felt incredibly easier on his shoulder, which were beginning to throb. Refusing to acknowledge the dull pain, the young man looked at the sky, taking note that it was nearing midday. It would only be a few more hours before they reached the border, and with it, their freedom. Lukas relayed the information to Eliza, grinning with happiness. He couldn't wait to finally leave this dreadful kingdom, and he knew Eliza felt likewise. He watched her as she ran, trying to think of how he should word his next question. "So, um, when we reach the border, would you want to split up or..." Lukas trailed off, a tinge of pink coloring his cheeks.
