    the words sneak past his lips despite the many things which struggled to keep them within. the man's own stubbornness. the regret that he spoke at all, even a tad. the sheer fact that, in all truth, this day was kind of *, and the pessimist would rather drown peacefully in his alcohol than attempt to make small talk with a youngin' he knew not.




    however, despite his ways and his habits and his nature, he was still a man of pride, for it seemed that integrity he held in his youth was almost as stubborn as he was. it stuck, and it stayed. and it allowed him to see that he should at least have the decency to finish what he had started.




    thus, he continued, and let out a grunt as he stood from his seat. perhaps with the combined efforts of him, the girl, and this new boy whom offered to help, this mess could be cleaned up in a jiffy.




    "more like 'linger around.'"




    hands work quickly, yet hold that certain slowness that was served with age. he picks up a box with uncharacteristic caution before finishing his thought. upon doing so, he looks to her, his own dull eyes looking past a pair of glasses to meet new orbs never seen.




    "i've got a room on the bottom floor. you should stay away from there, though. smells like smoke."

    her smile soon assists a giggle in scurrying past her lips, said giggle motivated into revealing itself after hearing nadene's voice. a solemn, yet sweet voice. the best voice to her ears.




    she abandons the broom, tossing it aside as if the object was landfill of sorts. it was, in fact. compared to the opportunity to speak to the hard-working woman whom she'd grown to befriend. though adrianne was the type of woman to squint, to look ever so closely and see beauty in all, the woman did know when to quit. and this was one of those times.




    her heels make that classic sound, their 'clop clop clop,' adage makes her way towards the other, her smile fading grandly after hearing her words.




    "it's no trouble, naddy. i know how your work can be."




    she knew, of course, but couldn't quite relate. all customers she had the pleasure of meeting turned out to be rather polite. kind, even. though perhaps they were just too tired to be mean.




    "you're okay though, yeah? can i get you anything?"

    the question asked is many things.




    the question asked is new. for as long as she's known nadene, the motivated spark in a sea of flickering lights, the beam of light among a crowd of white sounds, the woman, her friend, she's never heard such a thing slip from her lips. then again, nadene never showed the habit of avoiding questions such as that one, but to switch to such a direction with such a fast pace was rather different. strange.




    the question was layered. how to be happy. how to shine. how to work up the courage to face the sun, reach towards its fiery self, and pull out just a sliver. a chunk. stuffing that sunshine in your pocket as to float about life with a smile. such layers caused adrianne to pause. to ponder. just why, in fact, was she happy? was she scared? determined? frail?




    this leads to the question's third trait.




    it was hard.




    her heart beats with a surge of panic for but a nanosecond, before she is saved by the jukebox. her favorite song begins to play. a soft, and easy song. perfect for following along to.




    perfect for dancing.




    turning with a smile similar to the song, soft and easy, she trots up to her friend and takes her hands with ease. her brightly painted nails simply falling grazing upon skin as she leads her to the center of the floor. she could tackle this question. one step at a time.




    and dancing while doing so couldn't hurt.




    "what a question."




    she says as their forms begin to swing about. soft as a wave in an ocean of light. simple as a calm and pretty color. their hands stay intertwined. they had to stay intertwined. it made this process easier.

    a wolf pack sounds wonderful! i haven't done one in a while, and it'd be great to get in touch with those roots again.




    if we could, it'd be nice to plan out the pack's history before sign ups begin? maybe something along the lines of three wolves meet, and together they formed a pack which they ruled together as leaders? the history is up to you, though. this is your plotting thread. there are many possibilities with wolf packs i'm eager to explore :)

    just a quick question though. should we roleplay just between the three of us, or work out a sign ups thread once we've got the history down? or maybe find some way to incorporate them both?

    so, how should the pack's dynamic go? besides the werewolves above humans aspect, how does it operate? what about the history?

    as for the history, i like where you were going! three friends, determined to both take their revenge on humanity and keep their friendship strong after being knocked down by humankind. thus, the pack was born. it'd be cool to see how the personalities of the three would affect their choices and compromise, and what sort of roll they'd play in their position.

    i was thinking about making my character a male. kind, but heavily dependent on the other two leaders in order to embrace his power. he requires teamwork and close friends to truly be content, but when he has this, he's a calm and collected individual with quiet lips and a heavy mind.
