[size=9pt][color=#2B1B17]WHO DESTROYED THE WORLD?
[color=Grey]----------------------------------------
[align=left][font=trebuchet ms][size=8][color=#2B1B17]
The kitten found herself wandering. She had no idea how long she had been walking, hours? Minutes? There was nothing to measure the time by except for the soreness in her legs. Being both blind an deft, she couldn't see the forest as she passed, couldn't hear the sounds of the trees moving in the wind or prey moving about in the trees. Smell wasn't a good way to measure distance, and neither was feel if all you could feel was yourself bumping into trees that you didn't know where there.
Normally, she could find her way around by finding the mental presences of others. The child could feel where others were by reaching out for their minds, being able to locate them telepathically. Where she had come from, there were always enough people about to be able to know where obstacles were, but here, in unfamiliar terrain, the only presences she could feel were the weak minds of prey, which were rare, and that didn't help her at all. So at the moment, there was only silence, an eerie silence in her mind. It seemed unnatural really, wandering with no sight, no hearing, nothing in her mind, and no sense of direction, it just seemed so... lifeless.
She had been born without sight and hearing, and the powers that seemingly came with those defects, although no one knew why it had happened. She had also been born into a place where there were always people around, always filling her brain with their thoughts and feelings, sometimes to the point where she didn't even know which feelings were her own. And now, without this crowded mind, she didn't know what to feel for herself except for the emptiness that came with being alone. The fact that she had just witnessed her parent's death didn't help either.
Ahead, she could smell a scent border, and although she still had no idea where she was, at least there was almost a guarantee that there would be animals that could help her there. Approaching, she sat down, suddenly realizing how tired she actually was. Unconsciousness ebbed at the corners of the kit's mind, threatening to take her under, but before it could, the kit let out something like a distress signal, projecting her sudden feelings of panic out to whoever's mind would happen to be nearby before passing out from sheer exhaustion, tiny black body half buried under a fern.
