"It's not stupid," Saru whispered, accepting the kiss readily. "I really mean it, Misaki. I'd die for you." He sighed contently as he held his boyfriend close. He knew that what he was feeling right now was love. It was something that he'd felt before when looking at Misaki, but never to this extent. The more he looked at him and talked to him, the more of this feeling overwhelmed him.

"That sounds good," Kuroh said. Now that they had finished eating, he started shedding his unnecessary clothing, starting with his sword. "Shiro, you can share my bed, since we only got two."
-
Saruhiko nearly jumped out of his skin when he heard his name being called right next to his ear. Before he had the chance to respond, a small, solid object barreled into him, effectively knocking them both over.
"What the Hell?" he hissed. He tried his best to keep his voice down, suddenly aware of all the clan members sleeping nearby.
-
"I know," he said. A soft smile curved on his lips. "And neither are you. You're not alone. Remember that." He remembered how back when they were kids, Misaki was picked on rather harshly behind his back by his only friends. When he had discovered what they really thought, it messed him up pretty badly. The orange-haired boy had seemed to take their words to heart, believing himself to be annoying and a burden. It took a full year of Saru's convincing that he finally started to see himself for who he was again.
-
Saruhiko's eyes widened, though he knew that Misaki couldn't see them.
"Why do you need me?" he asked, the tiniest bit of venom lacing his tone. "Don't you have Mikoto to keep you company?"
Mikoto rolled his eyes at Reisi's voice. This was just great. Leave it to Reisi to find the most opportune moment to mock him.
"He was hardly a date," he grumbled. Mikoto wasn't too sure what was making him so upset.
-
Saru's chest got lighter and lighter with each kiss he received from Misaki. He realized that this, this is where he was meant to be. He loved Misaki so much. In the past several years, he hadn't been completely sure of his feelings, but he was now.
"We can do whatever you want," he muttered in between kisses. "I'll take you wherever you want to go. However, what are we going to do about our clans?"
-
Saruhiko sighed. Sometimes, he really didn't know what to make of Misaki. Just when he thought he'd been cast away, the red comes back and does something completely unexpected.
"I mean," he muttered, "if that's what you want..."
"Yeah," Mikoto said, trying his bets to mask the disappointment in his voice. This was the first time that Misaki had outright chosen someone over him. It didn't feel good.
-
Saruhiko smiled.
"That sounds like a great idea," he said. "I'm sure we'll settle down sooner than later. At least, if you're okay with that." He knew that it would be hard to keep this big a secret from the blue clan, especially Munakata. The blue king seemed to know everything that went on with his soldiers. Also, most of his clan mates would expect him to start a fight with Misaki whenever they encountered each other. How was he going to explain his lack of aggression?
-
"No," Saruhiko said, more quickly than he had intended. "I mean, yeah, that's fine. I can help." Damn it. He was starting to let his emotion show through. After years of of carefully building up a wall, Saruhiko wasn't about to let it be torn down that easily.
"I'm not disappointed," Mikoto lied. "I'm just worried." Alright, that second part was definitely less of a lie, but hey. He couldn't help but worry. After all, he was Yata's king. It was natural to be worried, right?
-
"Yeah, alright," Saru sighed, kissing him back. "When do you want to get your stuff?" Both Saru and Misaki must've had more kisses in the last three minutes than they'd had in their entire lives, not that Saru minded. He rather enjoyed this change of pace. He was finally getting to live out something that had only been daydreams back in middle school.
-
"Yes, I'm sure," Saruhiko assured. "I wouldn't be offering if I didn't mean it, would I?" It was true, Saruhiko had never been the most sympathetic friend. If you asked Misaki what his friend was like back then, he'd probably describe him as brutally honest.
"No, that's fine," Mikoto said. "After all, I have you to keep me company now. I have a feeling that those two are going to be a bit busy."
-
"Oh, God," Saruhiko groaned at the thought of trying to ride a skateboard. "I have a feeling that wouldn't turn out well." Just the thought of trying to balance on one of those wretched things while Misaki stood there and laughed at him didn't exactly sound appealing.
-
"Alright," Saruhiko muttered. Without an explanation, he grabbed Misaki's wrist and began dragging him in the direction of his room. It would be best to get to a room as soon as possible, especially with how pitch black the hallway was.
"That sounds fine," Mikoto said, standing from where he had been on the bed. "You'll have to lead the way. I've never been to this section of Scepter Four."
-
Saru's heart leapt at the sound of Misaki's laugh. It sounded so pure and full of life; he hadn't heard it in so long he almost forgot what it sounded like. Saru put all the gentleness and love he had into their next kiss. It wasn't enough to just say he loved Misaki. He was determined to show him as well. His eyes were still closed when they pulled apart.
"I love you so much," he muttered softly.
-
Saruhiko got to his room as quickly as one could by simply running his hands over the wall. Misaki's frightened whimpers only prompted him to go faster. When they got there, he quickly turned the doorknob and the two of them hurled inside. He found a pair of earplugs that he kept in his room just in case the neighbors decided to have a bit of fun.
"Here, take these," he muttered, handing them over to the red.
"Eager, are we?" Mikoto asked. He was struggling to keep up with Reisi in such a dark hallway.
-
"I love you most," Saruhiko whispered, not caring how corny it sounded. He hugged Misaki tightly to him, running his fingers through his hair. "Now, go to sleep. You need your rest." He felt warmth flood throughout his chest. He'd never felt this happy with someone before. He usually tried to avoid as many people as he could. With Misaki, though, it was different.
-
"They're earplugs," Saru explained. He felt around for Misaki's hands before placing the items in there. "They should help with the thunder, and if you close your eyes, you won't be able to see the lightning."
Mikoto raised an eyebrow.
"Mood lighting, Reisi? I didn't know you were a romantic," he muttered. He stepped into the room without hesitation, already beginning to move closer to the blue king.
-
Saru kissed the skateboarder lightly on the head.
"I didn't nearly die twice," he pointed out. It was true; he did feel tired. However, he was too afraid to close his eyes, too afraid that this was all a dream - a wonderful, wonderful dream. All Saru wanted to do was watch Misaki sleep and know that he was okay.
-
Saruhiko hummed in acknowledgement. After a brief moment of hesitation, he pulled Misaki closer to him. The blue knew that he always felt better when he could physically feel that someone was there. It helped to ground him, in a way.
"Hm. That actually fits you. At least, for a guy who seems to be pretty full of himself," Mikoto drawled. He watched Reisi's eyes, eagerly awaiting his reaction.
-
Saru yawned too, despite trying his best to prevent it. His eyes began to droop. Damn it. He was sure that this was all Misaki's fault, somehow.
"Goodnight, Misaki," he hummed. Moments later, he was completely gone.
