As Kate spoke, the samoyed turned her head and smiled. They didn't know each other well but Emilia had seen her around quite a bit and liked her. "Thank you," she answered, the happiness in her voice contradicting her calm attitude.

She turned back to Rick then, craning her neck to rest her chin on his shoulder, just as he did to her. It was a brief gesture but it still meant a lot to her, showed her that he didn't hate her for completely disappearing off the face of the earth. "I'm alright," she answered. "I'm sorry for disappearing. Something happened to an old friend and I had to leave to take care of them; I didn't have time to tell anyone before I left. I came back to RiverClan as soon as I could.

"Are you liking ShadowClan? Is Amberly well?"
she inquired then, remembering Rick's young daughter. All of her own children were dead or missing, with the exception of Alphabetboy, and she tried her hardest not to think about it. She wasn't sure if she wanted to have more, though. Raising children was a lot and she'd done it so many times that she was burnt out. "Are you well?

It's good to have you back. The response echoed in her head for a few seconds. His usual tone of voice was rather flatlined, matching his rough and composed exterior; as he spoke to her, though, there was more emotion in his voice and on his face than there would be normally. It gave her hope that he had come looking for her not only out of concern but because he had some type of feelings for her.

She nodded as he answered her inquiries, pleased to her that his daughter was alive and well. "Well, it was awfully sweet of you to bring that Rift child home," she commented. After all, Emilia had known plenty of people who would have done anything to make sure someone else had to do something like that. "And tell Amberly I said hello." It was doubtful that the child would remember her, as she was pretty sure they had only interacted for a very brief moment.

Rick's response to her final question didn't seem sincere and, while she didn't want to overstep her boundaries and pry into his personal life, she wanted to offer her support in case he needed someone. She was about to speak once more but he started before she could. As he finished, the samoyed was quiet, a wide grin across her features. He had never struck her as the romantic type - and still didn't - so his invitation came as a pleasant surprise to her. "I'd love to," she cooed.

It wasn't often that joiners came into the territory as opposed to standing on the border, but no one here was particularly bothered with it. After all, he stuck his landing from the sky quite beautifully, and she could imagine it wasn't his intention to trespass. "Welcome to RiverClan," greeted the canine as she appeared, stopping beside Kate and Sylmae with a gentle smile upon her features. "Lovely to meet you. My name is Emilia Resurgam."

Arriving after the girl of the hour was her best friend. Emilia's brows furrowed for a brief moment before replacing the expression with something more pleasant and neutral. Although Dimitri referred to Sylmae as a friend, he spoke to her in a way that opposed her title of 'friend.' Wait, but hadn't Cade returned recently? Alas, it wasn't her business, and she was sure that the pregnant leopard knew she could come to her if she needed someone to talk to. The former Lifeguard simply smiled, waving a paw at the male.
