[fancypost borderwidth=0px; width:500px;][justify][size=9pt]The bandaged tom limped over, but avoided Skippingstones to the best of his ability. Seeing the girl brought back horrid memories and he would rather not witness them over and over whilst in a meeting. He swallowed hard before paying full attention to what Athena was saying. The man's ears pinned back on his head when he heard the name of their most prevalent enemy. Steadfast wanted nothing more for them than to burn in a fire a thousand times over.

"Cassius." the tom managed to get out, though it was very quiet. His throat was extremely dry, no matter how much water he drank to try and sooth it. He hoped that the Riverclan leader would understand what he was saying. Or, at least, somebody would. He wanted to get this Shadowclan shit off his mind; it made him much angrier than usual.

[fancypost borderwidth=0px; width:500px;][justify][size=9pt]Steadfast silently walked over, a slight frown placed upon his muzzle. He'd heard of truth or dare before, but had never actually played it. However, common sense ruled the young tom's mind. It was pretty easy to figure the game out. The injured tom sat down next to Frightfur, zoning out.

[fancypost borderwidth=0px; width:500px;][justify][size=9pt]It seemed as if everybody was in support of Ivylee's idea. Steadfast was slightly swayed on the same side as everybody else. He thought it was a good idea, but it would be sort of difficult to give one massive tour to all new Riverclanners at one time. The tom wouldn't say anything as he walked over. Instead, his ears would be swiveling around in search of Athena or Wastedtime. He was sure one or the other would come over eventually, and more than likely, they would accept the idea.

[fancypost borderwidth=0px; width:500px;][justify][size=9pt]Steadfast's eyes went wide in horror as Meltedkit told Tadashi to lick his ear. He stood up and backed a few steps away from the tiger, ears pinning slightly on his skull.

"No," he managed to say, his throat dry and scratchy. He did not like to be touched in any manner, especially something as grotesque as Meltedkit suggested. "Meltedkit, you... you can't say things like that." Steadfast told the little tom. He did not know how to scold the child without making him cry.

[fancypost borderwidth=0px; width:500px;][justify][size=9pt]Steadfast had not remembered the invitation that Warblerwing had given him. Of course, once she had called upon the riverguard team, his mind immediately went to the mottled woman's invitation. It was not in his nature to be forgetful, but he hadn't been paying too much attention to the head riverguard when she invited him. Oops.

He read the scratchy writing. It took him a while to decipher it, but he soon settled on his own name versus Radiumveins. He'd never met her before, but faintly remembered her interaction with Tadashi. At a first glance, she seemed strong. Otherwise, she'd more than likely not be on the team. Steadfast would sit and wait for his fellow riverguard trainee. For there, the duo would discuss whether or not to use powers (which Steadfast would more than likely say no, for he had none).

[fancypost borderwidth=0px; width:500px;][justify][size=9pt]When Radiumveins suggested a summer prom, the man's eyes immediately fled to Skippingstones' mottled form. He could no longer deny his feelings for her. This prom - it'd be a great way to ask her out on a date. Steadfast hadn't known the riverguard for long, but from the day he met her, he knew she was something special. Biting his lip, the tom would focus his attention back on Radiumveins. He'd have to start planning.

[fancypost borderwidth=0px; width:500px;][justify][size=9pt]The injured male would sigh as he walked over. His ears pinned slightly back on his skull at Athena's mentioning of Shadowclan. Steadfast wanted nothing more than for the anti-clan to burn in a fiery hell, frost over, and then burn again. He certainly would not forgive them for this. It did not help that Riverclan would launch a raid against them soon. The cream-and-white tabby had a strong urge to help his clan attack the enemy, but he could not do so in his current state. That made him even more pissed off. Fuck.

    Character Name: Steadfast
Open for Apprenticeship or Mentoring?: Mentoring
Other: He will probably be the worst mentor in the world lmao

[fancypost borderwidth=0px; width:500px;][justify][size=9pt]A returner? So many interesting things happened on solo patrols. Steadfast had not been going out much before Shadowclan had captured him. That made him wake up. It made him realize that life was short.

"Welcome back," Steadfast said before rubbing at his throat. He knew it would take a while to recover from the injuries he received and that pissed him off. Even now, going on solo border patrols was a struggle for the tom that he would not normally place upon his shoulders. But he didn't need any medicine or loving to return to normal. He would show them.

[fancypost borderwidth=0px; width:500px;][justify][size=9pt]It only took one instance. One instance to hurt somebody. One instance to make them a complete shadow to their former self. One instance to make that said somebody hate their assailant. That 'one instance' - it spanned over a couple of days for Steadfast. He was sure he'd already lived through hell.

A lonely walk through the territory was what he had been doing. It was almost peaceful. His anger... his rage... it came from nowhere, seemingly. It had been building up steadily in the days of his return - so many stressful events were happening around Riverclan. However, once the cream-and-white tabby had been captured by Shadowclan, this rage skyrocketed.

    He needed it gone.

"FUCK SHADOWCLAN!" The tom spat out as loud as he could. It pained his throat and his muscles to do so, but he couldn't help but be angry towards their enemy. They had most recently done... unspeakable things to Steadfast. Not to mention, they had also captured Skippingstones. She was already important as was, but she was also pregnant. He was only glad that no harm had come to the children. That did not soften his rage, though.

The tom buried his paws into the river floor. It was soft and easily went its own way. Steadfast was up to his knees in water, his body tense as he faced the river's tide. His jaw clenched tightly. Nothing could get him to calm down at this point. He was so... angry. He couldn't express himself. How could he ever fucking tell others how he felt without saying it out loud? He was bad enough at controlling his emotions as was. This put him over the edge.

It wasn't him who did it. It couldn't have been. It was the immense rage building up inside of him that led to his downfall. He managed to conjure up a spark of a flame. He took that and made it into something much, much greater. It was not a fireball or anything of the sorts - it was an unending blast. Its point of origin seemed to be coming from around his mouth. The riverguard trainee's lower jaw was at the widest angle it could seem to be at as fire destroyed the forest around it. This only went on for a minute or two before Steadfast, the real one, took control over his emotions and put the flame out.

He never knew he could be so angry.

He stared at the path of destruction he had just caused. It made his eyes go wide in horror. Steadfast let out a loud cry before collapsing in the river. He thought he was better than this. This wasn't him. He managed to drag himself mostly onto the shore. His back feet and most of his tail were still protruding into the river.

It did not take him long to pass out after that.

[fancypost borderwidth=0px; width:500px;][justify][size=9pt]Quietly, Steadfast walked up to the two girls. His mind was still wrapped around the fact that these were Skippingstones' kids. He'd not admitted his feelings to the girl. In fact, he had barely been able to go near her due to the horrible Shadowclan memories she brought back.

"Hi, girls," he said to Summerkit and Abysmalkit, trying to push their mother out of his mind. "I'm Steadfast. I'm a good friend of your mom's. I said that I'd help raise the two of you along with your brothers as well. You'll be seeing me come around quite often." The cream-and-white tabby gave a small smile to the duo.

[fancypost borderwidth=0px; width:500px;][justify][size=9pt]"Congratulations, I suppose," Steadfast said quietly as he wandered over. He barely remembered the days of his own apprenticeship. He was happy for Cherrybomb to be out of the torment officially now, although he'd probably not had any training for a year.

[fancypost borderwidth=0px; width:500px;][justify][size=9pt]At first, the riverguard trainee looked somewhat angry. He did not know of this person whatsoever and it made him uneasy. However, the scent that clung to his fur was a mix between Windclan and Riverclan. Although Steadfast did not like any of their allies, he could not go and kick any of them out of the territory. His facial expression changed to... impressed? Yes, he was impressed by the way in which Wraithstatic was electrocuting the marine animals. However, as more began to pop up, the cream-and-white tabby came to be nervous.

"You - you must get out." The male said, beginning to look panicked. Fish were popping up to the surface left and right. It was Riverclan's main supply of food and Wraithstatic was just killing them off. However, he would not dare to touch the water; he knew there was something poisonous about the fu dog. Protectively, Steadfast moved to stand in front of Quietriot. He would not allow the girl to be harmed.

[fancypost borderwidth=0px; width:500px;][justify][size=9pt]A spy rank being brought to Riverclan? That could prove to be an interesting situation. Paying the uttermost attention he could, the cream-and-white tabby trotted over, hanging on to every word Waverly said.

"It is... dangerous, yes." The tom agreed with Skippingstones before sitting down next to her. He had to agree with her on this. No, it was not because he had a petty crush on the girl, but because it was indeed dangerous for Riverclanners to go out. Nowadays, it was so easy to be harmed by others, especially those with life-threatening powers. His mind immediately went to himself and of the destruction he caused only a few days before. Giving an involuntary shudder, the male would continue. "However, I think it would be a good idea to reinstate the rank. Although it is dangerous, it would be a great way to collect information.

"In my personal opinion, it is a poor idea for it to have its on hierarchy. That could cause for problems. If anything were to go south, Haise could always gather a few members for a rescue." He huffed out, glancing towards one of the head riverguards. "Or, perhaps a partner system could be put into place. I like the idea with the allying clans as well. If we gather... maybe, let's say a maximum of two spies per clan - we could unite against a strong enemy." He was trying to contribute to Waverly's idea best he could.

[fancypost borderwidth=0px; width:500px;][justify][size=9pt]Everybody seemed to be having such great ideas involving Riverclan these days. Steadfast had to ask himself: why wasn't he coming up with any of these ideas? The male was infuriating himself, slowly but surely. Letting a quiet sigh escape his mouth, the cream-and-white tabby walked over, the usual stoney expression placed on his face.

He did like the idea the Warblerwing suggested. At three years old, the male was in his prime and he had confidence in himself. "Yes... I'm ready as well," Steadfast said, seconding Tadashi. He wondered when exactly these trials would be taking place.

[fancypost borderwidth=0px; width:500px;][justify][size=9pt]He was no longer ashamed to admit what he was deep inside: a monster.

Only a few days ago - it seemed like months, even years now - he released all of his rage and damaged a portion of Riverclan's territory. If he was being honest, it scared the shit out of him. How was he capable of doing anything destructive on this large of a scale? All he had wanted was some revenge on Shadowclan. He wanted revenge on Artpop, the one who captured Skippingstones and himself. He wanted revenge on those who tortured him daily. And in the end, where had it gotten him? The cream-and-white tabby had turned his back on his own clan. He didn't think he'd ever forgive himself.

Now, he was stumbling through the territory. A ways back, he had found a buried bottle of Jack Daniels, and now had drunk a little less than half of it. It was more than enough to put him over the edge. "Shut... up," he said to a tree as he passed it, swaying heavily. He tripped on his own feet and landed up in the dust. He was much too intoxicated to comprehend anything. Steadfast let out a heavy sob and buried his face into his arm. Nothing seemed to be going his way anymore.

[fancypost borderwidth=0px; width:500px;][justify][size=9pt]"Yes, I'm fucking drunk, Tadashi. You have a problem with that?" The riverguard trainee growled to the tiger from his arm, momentarily looking up at the other male. His eyes crossed momentarily as he saw a speck of dust land on his nose. He pushed off the ground slightly - not enough to be sitting, but not enough to be laying down. He refocused himself back on the tiger.

"You wanna know something?" He questioned, now fully sitting up. He was still dwarfed in size by the other animal, but he did not care. Steadfast didn't wait for an answer before continuing. "I fucking despise you. It's so easy for you to - to do everything. Everyone likes you. You can tell a girl that you love her. Fuck, man, why can't I do any of that? I want to be liked... but I can't be."

[fancypost borderwidth=0px; width:500px;][justify][size=9pt]He was injured. There really was no way to get around this one, and now, Steadfast was confined to the steamboat. Did he generally follow the rule? Nobody tried to make him stay put, so he was constantly wandering around the territory nowadays. Well, save for now. He saw Meltedkit sitting by his lonesome. The cream-and-white tabby plastered on a fake smile. and went over to the child, nodding a hello in greeting

    (mm i know the feeling,)

[fancypost borderwidth=0px; width:500px;][justify][size=9pt]"Yes, you can join," Steadfast said quietly towards Sweetkit as he walked over. He'd not been around in the past few days - relaxing by the river was beginning to get to the male's mind. Of course, the riverguard trainee figured that he deserved it after being tortured. Not to mention, helping Skippingstones raise her children. They all were a handful.

"I'm Steadfast. It's wonderful to meet you." He would say towards the newest Riverclan member, a deep purr coming from within his throat. It wouldn't last any more than a moment or two. Steadfast had always been slightly hostile towards new members, but seeing children at the border made his heart ache for them. "Let me know if you need anything, alright?"

[fancypost borderwidth=0px; width:500px;][justify][size=9pt]It did not take long for Steadfast to find the kittypet. His fur bristled almost immediately when he came across the foreign scent. He knew that smell from anywhere; he'd be lying if he said he didn't nearly throw up. Nonetheless, he would walk over to investigate the origins.

"Yes. This is Riverclan." He said, nose twitching in disgust of the scent. He could barely take another clan's odor, but this put him over the edge. He hoped that this guy would be joining or would leave forever so he'd never have to take another horrible whiff of the human smell. "I'm Steadfast. What can we do for you?" The cream-and-white tabby forced a smile, trying to appear polite to Toby. He sat down and waited for a reply from the other.

    (Hey! Welcome back to Riverclan~
    ninja'ed by middy,)

[fancypost borderwidth=0px; width:500px;][justify][size=9pt]"Hello Meltedkit," he responded to the young child, giving the other cream tabby a heart-felt smile and a wave back. Although they were not his, Steadfast was completely smitten with Skippingstones' children. "How are you? Are you enjoying Riverclan life so far? I remember when I was your age. It's the best."

(ah I'm so sorry, I've been really busy the past few days and haven't been able to respond to anything </3)
