    "meet and greet over here!" featherkit called out, seated in the largest room on the steamboat, where everyone could be seen chatting cheerfully back and forth. she wanted to branch out and make some friends, preferably friends around her age, but she wouldn't mind older or younger buddies, either. she waited for some to approach.

    "hello," featherkit called out to athena and fernkit, approaching at a slightly slower pace with her sea-blue lenses focused on the golden retriever. she seemed to be lonely, perhaps waiting for someone to approach to start a conversation, and so featherkit figured that she'd join it. she sat nearby with her silky silver tabby laying over her paws, tilting her head slightly to the left. "my name is featherkit, and what's your name?" she queried. of course, she had heard of athena - she was the deputy, after all - but she preferred formal introductions.

    a shark crossed with a black serval? featherkit had never expected to see such a thing as some npc kittens shot past her wailing about sharks. as she approached him, she blinked, whiskers quivering. he didn't seem to pose a threat; after all, he hadn't killed any of those npc kits. besides, he was asking to join the clan, which meant his intentions couldn't be too bad, could they? "i believe we auto-accept all new joiners, but i'm not too sure, so don't rely on my words," the kitten said eventually with a twitch of her ears. he already gave his name and business, so there wasn't too much else she could ask him, and she didn't really feel like interrogating him. "my name's featherkit, and it's a pleasure to meet you!" she finished, offering a small, lopsided smile.

    she turned to watch the black smoke approach, offering a small smile to him as he introduced himself. "jager? nice to meet you," the fem hummed, "my name is featherkit." she finished. what he said was true; they hadn't met before. actually, featherkit barely knew any of her clan-mates at all. she didn't have any family in riverclan with here, and hadn't been the most popular kit, keeping to herself until recently.

"wastedtime? nice to meet you, as well!" the fem replied warmly. "i really like it here so far, it's very nice. my room's very cozy,"

    featherkit had her head bowed, gaze flickering over the pages of a book, absorbed in the endless words and descriptive writing. she had been taught to read at a very young age, and while she was still learning, she had a natural knack for reading. featherkit was, indeed, a clever young lady. reading came in handy, hence why she had began reading in the first place, but now it was more of a recreational sort of thing.

    featherkit loved to read. reading came in handy, hence why she had learned in the first place, but she mostly just read silly stories of adventure and romance by that point, though she wouldn't say that too openly. she slipped into the library, pawsteps hushed as she made her way into a section of the library where her favourite books were, rising onto her hind-legs to grasp one in her teeth and gently pull it down. the book she'd chosen had a very worn cover, but she didn't mind. the content would be just fine, she assumed, dropping back onto all fours and looking around for somewhere to sit down to begin reading. she found wastedtime, mumbling quietly as he read through some books featherkit doubted she could read, idling nearby. "wastedtime, was it? do you mind if i sit with you?" the pale silver tabby asked in a soft tone, paper-thin ears giving a slight flick.
