Mixed feelings built in his chest. Fear, mostly. Anything that could kill something that big was to be feared. At least, in Tess's eyes.

He hadn't really found a reason to fear her quite yet. "Do you need anything?" the kitten questioned idly, his voice a mere drone.

i posted in the chat thread saying i had a sunburn so i wasn't on, WELL turns out i have sun poisoning because we all know that giant, burning ball of gas is out to get us
anyways, i'll try to post a BUNCH today to make up for everything i missed and try to provide some actual threads bc i never do that

Though he wouldn't say anything, the kitten remained looking skeptical as Athena went on about enemies and allies. The touchy stuff. And then, the usual, promotions. Everyone admittedly deserved it, so that was good, and Tessellessence allowed a "Congrats," to slip out.

Though he did find it rather ironic that the femme he had mentored was now his own mentor. Almost amusing. And the other two- Sealion and Littlekit, they were very skilled. A good team at work. Something Tess could be proud of.

Of course, the naturally abrasive male would be as polite as he could force himself to be, but that was a lot of potential for danger. And, well, Tess was absolutely terrified of new people. The medicine cat apprentice turned to look at the new faces- The Knights of Eden, had Athena said? He hadn't heard too much violence from them. Of course, that didn't mean there couldn't be a wolf in sheep's clothing.

He examined the wolf through critical blues for a long moment, remaining silent. As his eyes focused a but more, the mca would ask "Name and business?" sounding more bored now than before.

It was hard to explain. Although he couldn't remember having heard any negative things about HawkClanners in his life. "I'm Tessellessence," he finally spoke in turn "Medicine cat apprentice here."

Minnow was helping Littlekit, Warblerwing was dealing with a cold (he could hear it in her voice honestly), and Comforting wanted to know about dieting or something. The mca turned to face Prescott, only greeting the WindClanner with a nod before speaking "Could you help Comforting with whatever she's got going on?" he questioned in an emotionless tone, pointing at the large rabbit. Then, his attention went to Warblerwing. He passed some coltsfoot and honeycomb to the Head Riverguard while questioning "Do you want a poppy seed too?" Tess raised his eyes up to the monotonous tortoiseshell, a look like he was thinking hard about something crossing his face. Looked like somebody had been overexerting themself. You could see it in the dryness around her mouth and eyes. Subtle, easy to miss, but not if you just looked in the right places. "Prescott can you grab me some water, too? Warblerwing's dehydrated."

Sure, he wasn't apprentice-aged, but he wasn't like all the other kittens here, right? "I think I can handle myself- plus, Quietriot is here!" the tabby then gestured harshly to the aforementioned riverguard trainee.

The medicine cat apprentice's eyes narrowed a little as he stared into Astronaut's eyes "You killed it and it's- it's bigger than you." Sure it didn't really make sense, but he was absolutely terrified.

The small tabby conjured up a sprig of mint, passing the small stem to Quietriot. "You can eat it if you want, but mostly just smell it and it should keep you awake," he paused, swaying on his stance momentarily "Don't stay up for consecutive days, though, you'll regret it."
