full name: juniper andromedus
name meaning: evergreen
nicknames: she only goes by Juno, and you can bet you'll receive a punch in the face if you call her anything else
age: 16
date of birth: april 9th
gender: female
preferred pronouns: she/her
personality: It takes a special type of person to understand the character of Juno Andromedus. On the surface, Juno is not exactly a person that most would find themselves gravitating toward. Classified as a troublemaker by her teachers, Juno often stirs up situations with intending to (most of the time). Since she's usually targeted by her superiors, 90% of the time you can find her either in the principal's office or detention. In all honesty, Juno doesn't really give a crap about the number of detentions she racks up- and neither does her father - well, neither did her father. When Juno was around eight years old, her father walked out the door in the middle of the night and never came back. He was the only living guardian that she had left since her mom died in a car crash when she was two. Ever since her dad abandoned her, she's been in foster care- switching from home to home because no one can afford to keep up with her troublemaking habits. The longest period of time that she managed to stay in a home was three and a half months, and that was only because the family held on to the belief that they could change her. Though, what this family did not realize was that the damage that her father had done to her when she was young could not be reversed.
Multiple other factors of Juno's personality also stem from her abandonment. For example, she has extreme trust and abandonment issues because she believes that people are cynical creatures and that they don't care what happens to others around them. They'll leave you in the dust, alone, in a heart beat if it benefits them in any way. Due to this belief, she pushes people away and doesn't let them in because she thinks that it's better for her to distance herself immediately rather than suffer the consequences of getting attached and having them leave her later. Though, a good thing that did come from her father leaving was Juno's gain of independence and her realization that she did not need anyone but herself in order to stay alive.
In referral to her mischievous tendencies, one could most likely already assume that Juno doesn't spend her time with the best crowd around. She doesn't consider them friends per say, as they don't know much about who she is/her past, though she just thinks of them as people she can show off around and fool around with. They're mostly the burnouts, drunks, 'misunderstood' - essentially the misfits and partiers of the school. Though, Juno doesn't participate in all these illegal activities and run in with the cops multiple times a week for attention. Getting drunk/high/ smoking cigarettes is just an outlet for all the repressed emotions that she can't exactly let out anywhere else and she uses this stuff as a away to distract herself from all of it. This might sound bad, but she doesn't exactly have any other method to deal with her problems.
If you're able to spend enough time with her before she pushes you away, Juno is actually kind of a decent person. Underneath her facade, there's a part that Juno protected and didn't allow to be broken. It's who she is at her core- the little girl that wasn't damaged by everything she went through. In reality, Juno is just a curious goofball that loves to be the kid that she never got to be when she was younger due to the instability in her life. Once you get her to trust you enough in order to be herself around you, you'll find that Juno has an unforgettable, passionate soul- despite her rough and bitchy surface. She enjoys solving mysteries and uncovering the truth- which is why she can always tell if people are lying to her. She often ask questions to the point of being annoying- her favorite of which being 'why'. Juno also loves to write, though no one actually knows this because she thinks it makes her seem vulnerable. She writes about characters that are similar to herself, and if you read any work of hers, you would have insight to the inner turmoil that she suffers from. If Juno cares about you enough, she'll be loyal to the end- even if that contradicts her instinct to distance herself from people. She's fiercely protective of those that she loves because she's afraid to lose them, whether it be to death or another person taking them away from her. Though, be aware that if you do something to her- even if it's as simple as touching her the wrong way or letting something slip out of you're mouth accidentally- Juno will turn her back on you and never look back (despite how it hurts her to do so). Juno does not give people second chances, no matter who they are and how close she considers them to be, because she learned the lesson 'if someone hurts you, they should never be let back in' the hard way. So if you give her even the slightest reason to not trust you anymore, you'll never see this compassionate side of Juno again and you'll be dead to her.mental disorders (if any): used to have depression
sexual orientation: bisexual
crush: tba
plot ideas: xx

hey y'all, here's my baby~~
juno is basically a girl who was kicked to the curb as a child along with her brother. being abandoned by her dad at a young age caused her to grow up & mature quickly since she knew she would have to take care of her brother. she's extremely protective of keaton, though she tells him not to mimic her behavior. juno has learned to become patient because she basically took on the 'parent' role when her dad left. though, juno doesn't exactly make the best choices(parties a little too much & does a lot of illegal stuff). she's been trying to change her ways lately in order to be a better example for keaton(it isn't really working).besides that, she's pretty selective as to who she allows herself to trust and has a bitchy facade. she's a perfect example of 'don't judge a book by its cover' though because if you're able to get close enough to her, you'll see that she isn't that bad of a person and just needs a little bit of love in order to mend the wounds that her dad gave her. -

mikaela . yesss let's plot she's all open! lemme look over his form real quick <3
binie. we can plot if you want c: ?
-ghost- yes i was literally about to ask you if you wanted to have them together. okay, so i was thinking that they would maybe have a fling that slowly develops into possibly something more?? or they could have a love-hate relationship before everything goes to poop and then the murders make them want to keep each other safe no matter what. i definitely feel like they would be those two people that you would literally never see together, but once it happened they would actually be a power couple. -
sorry i lowkey died after donating blood thursday but im back!
my grammar is also shitty in this bc it's literally just brainstorming so be prepared
binie. okay I was thinking for alexei and juno- maybe they could have known each other for years before high school (like around the time juno's dad left). oO they could have been best friends since they grew up together (maybe they were neighbors until juno's dad left?). and they could be the ones that brought everyone together in the first place and started the friend group (if y'all are good with that??). when everyone split @ high school they could have stuck together bc they were scared of being alone and stuff so they made sure they signed up for the same classes c: alexei could have helped juno whenever she was having trouble with math homework too since shenever understood anything in the class
mikaela . ok ok since marco is already friends with sully i think him and juno would be decently close too. lolol juno would probably try to set alexei and marco up not so secretly and leave them in random places together 'by accident'.she's lowkey alexei's 'wingwoman'.besides all that, juno definitely admires the fact that Marco has remained sweet & friendly toward everyone after everything that happened. she cant really say that she's done the same thing, but she likes that he was still nice to her when the friend group broke apart. that's mainly why she's kept a good opinion of him throughout the years.
-ghost- yes! i'm all for that. juno would definitely cut class with sully all the time and sneak off with him to do God knows what. everyone would probably wonder how they're still alive tbh bc of all the shit that they do together. like you said, i can see juno trying to break up with sully often just because she wants to change & he kind of drags her into old habits again. she most likely wouldn't be able to avoid him for more than a month since he's her kryptonite. if they get in an argument though you bet she's going to go off trying to make him hella jealous by flirting with other guys. -
hey, just read the post now! and AAH thank you so much that means a lot! my style has changed a lot in the past six months so I'm glad someone still thinks it's decent <3 yours is really cool too, I think I've only met one other person on here that writes like you
I think she left though :/ I miss her.honestly it's really refreshing to roleplay with someone different.i'll have my post up by either tomorrow night or Friday. also just a heads up- my finals start tomorrow and finish on tuesday, so if I'm not too active these next couple of days it's because I'm studying
aka having panic attacks and trying to relearn a semester's worth of stuff within six days.Ooo yes I love that c: what if cass just totally walks out on poppy after listening to kennedy at the ball? and they get into a fight over it after since cass gives her the silent treatment? i don't know how i would have amora react yet though, I would have to think about it. yes, draco is going to end up taking amora unless you have another idea that could cause some lowkey fightsif you couldn't tell i love drama in roleplays -
yet another character gallery/storage for posts and stuff! please don't post here or steal my characters, i've worked extremely hard to develop them! thank you and enjoy <3

post is coming up tonight! halfway through caspian's part. the amount of writing per character is unequal though because i wanted to write out amora and draco's fight.
i also developed amora a little more and i was wondering if it was okay if her father plans for her to be a deatheater since he's a follower of Voldemort? i think it would be interesting because amora would most likely suffer emotionally from it since she would have no say in the decision.

AMORA ★ JULII
• • • • • • • • •
Amora whispered the password to the Slytherin common room once she ensured that Caspian and Jasper were out of sight. She had not yet forgotten the warning that was drilled into her head as a first year that forbid Slytherin house members from giving out the password- even to friends. The low standing dungeon door clicked and unlocked after Amora finished speaking the secret phrase. Dim, murky green light illuminated the salt water scented tunnel that she travelled through in order to reach her common room. Goosebumps developed on her pale skin, caused by the chilling air around her. The only source of heat provided in the room once she arrived was the large flames that licked the top of the fireplace which was placed against the stone wall.
The dungeon was void of everyone- except for a figure that laid in silence on one of the leather sofas that were scattered across the room. Amora didn't need to take another glance at the boy to realize who he was- Draco. "You know, love, I'd really hoped that you stopped hanging around those two, but it seems as if my wish wasn't granted." Draco said, somehow knowing that it was her without turning his head to look. Amora bit her lip slightly before she walked over to her partner. She had known she was going to have to face the boy sooner or later, so it might as well have been then. She sat on his lap and looked at him, but Draco avoided her eyes. Amora tried to decipher his mood by staring at him, but the only thing she could detect was the pain in his face. "What, are you jealous again? Draco, I've been friends with Jasper since our first year. It's not my fault that he decided to reject your offer to join your little cult with Crabbe and Goyle." She explained, obviously knowing this had nothing to do with her being around Caspian. Though, her voice obtained a lighthearted tone when she spoke the last sentence. Amora tilted her head slightly and attempted to brush a strand of his hair away from his icy eyes but Draco only pulled away from her. He clenched his jaw before beginning to speak again.
"If he was just your friend, why would you have left me over the summer to go with him to the Quidditch Cup?" Draco met her eyes after he said this. "Draco, are you kidding me? If you would listen to me rather than your little spies, you would know that Crabbe and Goyle only report what they want to. Caspian was there too, and if you think there's something weird about that, then there has to be something wrong with that brain of yours. He's my brother- and I'm 99.9% positive that he's head over heels in love with Viktor Krum." Amora replied as she moved off his lap in order to sit next to him on the couch. Draco just shook his head in frustration. "Amora, that's not the damn point." The boy sighed before standing up and starting to walk off toward the tunnel that led to the boys' dormitories. Though, Amora almost immediately ran after him before he could vanish. "Draco Malfoy, if you walk out of this common room without telling me the real reason why you're upset- and don't use your idiotic jealousy as an excuse- I swear that you'll regret it." Amora threatened as she grabbed him by the sleeve of his robe.
Once she said this, Draco whipped around and backed her against the cold tunnel wall, locking her in place by putting one arm on either side of her. The boy towered over Amora, staring down at her with an intense gaze. Seconds passed by as they stood there alone together, leaving only their gentle breaths to be heard between them. Draco's gaze softened as he begun to speak. "You left me to suffer inside of that dreaded manor- to hear the screams of my mother as my father hit her and feel the agony as he did the same to me. You- of all people- should know how suffocating it is to be in that situation." Draco whispered as he leaned in close to her ear. He was trembling now, as if he was afraid to seem vulnerable in front of the one person who knew him better than he knew himself. His words were like an icy knife in her stomach and they caused the breath to be drawn out of her lungs. "This summer was supposed to be our escape from all of it, but you forgot because you wanted one moment of fun with your friends," Draco tilted her chin up so she could look directly into his desperate eyes. "You could have been killed Amora, and you know exactly why." His voice was barely above a whisper as he drew back from the girl. Draco glanced around the common room, as if to ensure it was empty before choosing his next words carefully.
"Amora, he's coming back. I know that your father has been whispering about it as well. We have to be cautious- and if you don't want him to murder you along with Jasper, I would advise you to stop being around him." Draco's voice sounded as if he was trying to beg her to avoid Jasper at all costs. Amora pressed her lips together, nausea overwhelming her as Draco spoke. If what he had said was true, her fate would be sealed as a future death eater. Amora had been trying to avoid thinking about it over the summer but it turned out to be practically impossible due to who her father was. She shook her head, signaling that she refused to talk about the topic anymore. "Draco, drop it." She silenced him with her words and took a moment to decide what she was going to do next. Amora could have easily walked away from Draco and continued to draw out their fight for another week or so, but quite frankly she was tired of it. She only desired to have a peaceful start to her fourth year at Hogwarts but she couldn't do that unless she made up with the boy. Amora sighed reluctantly before speaking once more. "Now I'm going to try to forget that we ever had this conversation and you're never going to bring it up again, okay?" She took him by the tie and started to walk to the boys' dormitory before he had the chance to argue with her again.
The two often went back to Draco's room after they ceased fighting or whenever one of them needed comfort- as silly as it sounded. It wasn't as if they did anything bad together- they just laid in Draco's bed and either talked or slept. Amora agreed to start the tradition when she realized that she couldn't exactly just sneak into Poppy's room in the Gryffindor tower to talk to her. Draco always commanded the other boys to find somewhere else to sleep for the night and it worked since they were all so bloody terrified of him. There was also no enchantment on the door that prevented Amora from entering (
unlike the one on the girls' dorm that threw Draco down the stairs when he tried to sneak in during their third year.)Once the fourth year Slytherin boys exited the room, Amora and Draco entered and continued with their usual routine of locking the door and slipping under the covers. Amora knew that Draco would back back to his arrogant self and to his usual act of being cruel to others in the morning, but Amora decided to enjoy the time she had with him since the moments where Draco allowed himself to be vulnerable around her were unpredictable. Draco's arms were wrapped comfortably around her as he fell asleep, and it was as if he thought he was protecting her from an impending danger. Amora cast this thought out of her mind since it only caused her to worry about both of their fates and whether or not Jasper would be able to fight off his deadly enemy when he returned. The saddened girl drifted off into a light sleep in the arms of the boy that she was secretly betrothed to, though she couldn't help but question if she was meant for another.~~~
The next morning, Amora returned to her dorm to get ready since Draco had already left for his class. She travelled down to the DATDA classroom and met up with Caspian, Jasper, and Poppy. "Poppy you look like hell." Jasper joked, making Amora laugh. "Come on, Jasper, lay off. Maybe our Poppy went to a secret Gryffindor party that you weren't invited to." She added with a small smirk. She walked into to classroom and took a seat towards the back of the room purposefully. When Poppy asked her who the teacher would be, Amora shrugged. "I don't know, but I hope they're at least somewhat attractive." Amora replied while looking around for their teacher. She straightened up expectantly when Moody walked into the room, but sighed in disappointment once she actually saw his face. "Better luck next year." She muttered to her friend before resting her chin on her hand.
As the class went on, Amora started to find Moody's fidgety and abrupt manner amusing, but she kept quiet whenever he paced past her. She glanced at Poppy when she answered his question - or at least attempted to. She leaned over to her friend and whispered, "You know sometimes I wonder why you weren't sorted into Ravenclaw." Amora tensed up when Moody glared back at her for talking, but let out a sigh of relief when he didn't snap at her. Instead, the insane looking man walked back to the front of the room and looked around at the mostly frightened students. "Now, someone give me one of these curses." He demanded and it seemed as if the whole class sunk further into their seats in order to avoid being called on. Moody's mechanical eye twitched about the room before landing on Caspian. "Roque! Stand up!" The teacher yelled. 'This should be good.'

After dinner, Caspian walked back with Jasper, Poppy, and Amora to the common rooms. Caspian raised an eyebrow at the bet that Jasper offered. "Hell, of course he's going to to be bloody picked. Nah, I'll bet you ten on him winning the entire thing." He countered with a small smirk. "Kind of a let down that we can't enter the tournament though. You would have seen me kicking everyone's ass with my wicked spells." Cass drew out his wand quickly for effect, but ended up fumbling and dropping it. His face turned bright red as Amora started to laugh at him. "You can barely hold your wand without dropping it. I think a goblin would have a better chance at winning than you." The blonde haired girl chuckled and nudged him with her elbow. "Oh shut up, will you?" Caspian muttered while combing his fingers through his tousled hair.Cass raised his eyebrow in confusion when Poppy suddenly left the group in order to find her wand. "Yeah, a little odd. Think she needs any help?" Caspian questioned, pausing to look back over his shoulder. Amora rolled her eyes and hooked her arm through Cass' so he wouldn't be able to follow their friend. "Come on, Cass, it's just her wand. She's not a damsel in distress or something." Amora said and practically forced her brother to continue walking with her & Jasper. Once they arrived at the hallway that led to the Slytherin common room, Amora waved goodbye to Caspian and Jasper. "Sleep tight and don't let the Dracos bite." Cass snickered as they left his sister and Amora just flipped him off. "Very funny!" She called after him before entering the hidden passage way. Caspian continued to the Gryffindor common room with Jasper, cracking a couple of jokes along the way. When they entered their room, Cass said goodnight to Jasper but still sat on his bed awake. He caught up with Seamus and Neville quietly until late.
~~~
The next morning, Caspian headed to his first class accompanied by Jasper, Poppy, and Amora. The boy was clearly exhausted from talking with his friends all night, but he definitely wasn't as bad as Poppy. His friend looked as if she had travelled through the underworld and only just got back for DATDA. Cass laughed at Jasper and Amora's comments on Poppy's appearance. "Trust me, if there was a party in Gryffindor, Poppy would have probably missed it to study- even if classes haven't even officially started yet." Caspian said as he walked inside and took a seat next to Jasper. "Huh, so that's why she has better grades than you." Amora joked as she followed him with a smirk spread across her lips. Caspian only rolled his eyes, "Very funny! You should be a comedian at the pub." He said back before shutting up once Moody walked in. Cass grimaced at the teacher's appearance and whispered that 'he looked even worse than Poppy' to Jasper quietly.
Caspian dozed off in his chair as Moody explained everything about how he was an aurora and that they should know how to use the forbidden curses. He was leaning a little too far back in his chair when Moody yelled at him to stand up, so he was frightened by the sudden shout and fell out of his seat. The rest of his class erupted in laughter when Cass landed on his butt in shock. Moody only stared down at the boy with a straight face before yelling at him to stand up again. "Y-yes sir!" Cats stuttered and quickly got up from the floor. His ego was already so damaged that he didn't know if there was much more he could do to make it worse. "If you're finished with being a lady, give me a curse. Now, Mr. Roque!" Moody commanded and was about to start a count down before Cass answered. "Oh, the Imperious curse! That's one of them, correct?" Caspian looked Moody in the eyes for a moment before glancing away again. "Yes, Mr. Roque, it is. Though, if you expect praise for an answer that you should know off the top of your head, you might as well drop my class now." Moody scolded, embarrassing Caspian once more before allowing him to take a seat. "Let me demonstrate for you all." Moody grinned as he turned his back and performed the spell on an enlarged spider. He flung the creature around the room as if it were a puppet, laughing with amusement as he did so. Personally, Caspian was horrified, especially when the disgusting animal landed on his head. He almost let out a girlish scream before Moody threw it onto Malfoy's face for laughing. "Psh, what a baby." He muttered to Jasper as Malfoy had a panic attack over the bug being on him. It was as if he had forgotten that he almost just ran out of the room because the same thing happened to him.
"What else should I make her do? Throw herself out the window?" Moody slammed the creature against the glass harshly with his magic for effect. "Drown herself?" The man lifted the spider over the water and watched it with joy as it squirmed under his command. "He's truly insane.." Cass whispered as Moody lowered the spider onto the table. "Someone else give me a curse. Quickly now!" Moody urged. Caspian was surprised that so many other people volunteered to answer. He sure as hell wasn't one of them. Moody's eyes scanned the room for his next victim before landing on the boy who sat directly in front of him. "Long bottom, stand up." Cass' jaw gaped slightly as Neville shakily obeyed Moody's command. 'Let Dumbledore be with him.'
okay no problem!
i definitely like your idea about jasper taking amora away from draco for the whole night. it would allow them to bond some more and draco would be so pissed about it. as for how cass and poppy would make up, i'll think about it tonight and let you know whatever idea i come up with!
oo i love that! i think kennedy being chosen would cause more drama, but if you want poppy's brother to be picked that's okay too c: would they still die at the end?
also as for draco's characterization in my post, in my head i kind of imagine draco as this boy who's abused at home when he doesn't meet his father's expectations. it might not be accurate since Rowling never actually mentioned it in the books, but from the movies he always flinched so quickly even if he wasn't being hurt, so i always wondered how he developed that reaction to things
if that makes any sense whatsoever??so i think I kind of just assumed he had developed it from his home life in the manor as bad as that sounds. ik his life is assumed to be perfect but is it?? idk these are just random thoughts sorry for rambling it was just supposed to be an explanation :xx -
finals are over!! i'll be more active now, but just as a heads up: i'll also be going on vacation to Italy from the 26th to the 5th. i don't exactly know how the wifi// data situation goes over there but i don't think I'll be able to come online that often during the time period.
and aw! i've never roleplayed with anyone that made a playlist for us that's so cool <3 i put them together in separate playlists on Spotify so I can listen to them.
that gif is v accurate bc he's literally so in love with her that I could see him sending that over to her during class omg
p.s. i'm also interested in your reign thread and wondering if i could reserve the princess of ireland? it's okay if you would rather me not take the spot because of the amount of time I take to reply though! -
thanks <3
yeah they're really cool! plus, it's perfect since I've been wanting to listen to some new music lately
i literally just play the same three albums 24/7so it's great. i think i'm starting to like matoma too, so im really excited about that! black & blue by james tw is also hella good c: i put it on the main playlist that i listen to!also-- can i use the form that we used on this thread for the reign one? i can't find another fancy that I like :// i would adjust it for the thread if that's ok??
oh and where do you want me to start for the next post? i could skip to when dumbledore announces the names or we could start having some lowkey cappy/jamora moments
-
OKAY IM BACK I KNOW I DIED FOR A HOT SECOND BUT IM BACK
And yeah that's fine with me for the patronus stuff! I'm pretty positive I'm either going to have amora and Draco start breaking it off once we get to five or maybe have her start drifting away from Jasper & the group for a little because she realizes Voldemort is back && she's going to have to become a deatheater soon. I don't know for sure yet though (but opinions are always great)
they've been siblings since pre hogwarts since Amora's mom died when she was around five & lysander remarried when she was eight (he wanted to do it as fast as possible so he wouldn't be looked down upon)
that's fine I'm also going on a trip from the 22nd to the 29th!
wtgeahudejgavdns that's so cute!! we should play out a couple of scenes like that
actually I think I know how to start off my post now ccc; -
help I have extreme writer's block idk if it's obvious or not but I hate when this happens
**edit!
okay i came up with something but it's jamora scenes [i was thinking they could skip class & go somewhere together but get caught on the way back. they would have to do detention together later on but I was thinking maybe cass and poppy do something bad as well once they hear about it so Jasper & amora wouldn't have to go through detention alone]?? we should have coppy scenes too though- i just need some ideas to write them up!
-
ok great! it's going to be so cute agsyajvban cx they could go to hogsmeade together (or somewhere else that's more adventurous! hogsmeade was just the first place I thought of)
i was also thinking of maybe having cass do what Fred and George did (trying to trick the goblet's age line). it would first humiliate him but then make him even more angry/jealous when Jasper is called by dumbledore.
and as for what they could do to get in trouble- maybe they could cause one of their professors to puke slugs during class?? or cause a small fire in potions?? idk just some ideas c:
aLsO maybe during detention (say if the professor left the room for a bit) cass & Jasper could get into a fight over the name picking ?
-
reply is in the works! on vacation rn but I'll post it whenever i have time<3
— CASPIAN ROQUE —
tell me that you love me, even if it's fake.
As the group approached the dining hall, Cass watched the sixth and seventh year students crowd around the goblet. He had been formulating a plan to get his name into the fire ever since Dumbledore announced the competition. In potions class, he was able to successfully stir up a concoction that would allow him to safely cross the age line that was made by Dumbledore. Caspian shot a mischievous smile at his friends as he revealed a small glass that held his magic sparkling blue-green liquid. "And guess who else is about to drop in their parchment paper.." He wiggled his eyebrows before he tugged on his friends' robes. "Come and watch the master of magic trick the system."
Cass arrogantly and stupidly made his way over to the famous goblet of fire, all too sure that his mixture would work. In order to ensure that every student gathered in the room would acknowledge his presence, he let out a whoop and held up the potion. "Behold my fellow students, my personal ticket into the tournament!" Cass said when the room went quiet. "I call it the 'Up yours, Crouch!' potion. After all, who the hell is he to command that we have to be seventeen bloody years old to enter?" When he said this, all of the underage students erupted in cheers of agreement and excitement. Caspian let out a holler of his own and pumped his fist into the air. Though after the yells died down, Cass turned to hear a familiar voice speak up and say that it wouldn't work. 'Of course it's Poppy.' He thought. She always tried to knock logic into his head, but he never listened and today wouldn't be an exception. Cass rolled his eyes and sauntered over to his friend. Others watched the boy and snickered to themselves as he towered over her even though it wasn't his intention to cause laughter. "Breaking the rules always works, love." After telling her this, Cass turned back to the crowd and popped the cork off the potion bottle. "Bottoms up boys and girls!"
Caspian almost gagged at how sweet the blue-green liquid tasted. It was as if he had just emptied an entire sugar jar onto his taste buds. The potion caused his body to tingle- making his skin feel like it was receiving small electrical shocks from the inside. Goosebumps lined his arms for a moment before quickly disappearing. Cass purposefully turned to face Poppy and walked backward over the age line. He grinned smugly and winked at the girl, mouthing 'it worked' as the room began to be filled with cheers once again. He took out the folded piece of parchment paper that he had scribbled his name on earlier in the day from his pocket. The boy held up the paper in the air for a moment for effect before tossing it into the blue flames.
Gasps replaced the cheers that came from the crowd as the fire swirled angrily around Caspian. The flames surrounded and encased his body without injuring him when they ejected the boy from circle. Cass skidded along the floor before friction finally prevented the poor idiot from moving any further. He let out a groan as he pushed himself up from the ground shakily- only noticing the wrinkles on his hands when his vision ceased spinning. Cass furrowed his eyebrows in confusion that was directed at his old looking hands and the students who were now laughing at him. "What happened? Why are my hands like this.. and why does my back hurt so bad?" He questioned before looking to Amora. His sister couldn't stop laughing but in between her giggles she had used her wand to make a mirror appear. Cass squeaked in horror at the sighed of his aged face and long gray hair.
"Bloody hell! Pop- I mean someone fix it!" Cass yelped, his voice cracking with pure panic. He was utterly humiliated and ridiculously ugly; someone needed to get his face back immediately. He couldn't deal with the flabbiness of his previously toned arms, legs, and even abdominal muscles either. 'How am I supposed to get a date when I look older than Dumbledore himself?' With that thought, a new surge of panic flooded his veins. "Amora, hurry up! I need to be attractive again!" He begged. His words sent Amora into another fit of laughter. "Who said you were before this?" She mocked before swishing her wooden wand. In less than five seconds, Caspian was transformed into his former younger self. Cass breathed a sigh of relief and plopped down onto the floor, obviously trying to regain his sense of pride.
Though, the attention of the surrounding students was soon drawn away from Caspian once a brooding figure walked into the room. His presence demanded respect and dripped with confidence, causing the laughter in the room to silence. The only person that could have done this was Viktor Krum- and when Cass glanced up, his guess was proven to be correct. Viktor strode to the goblet of fire and placed his name in the flames. His dark eyes cast their gaze onto both Amora and Poppy, taking the appearances of the two girls in. A small but alluring smirk tugged at the corner of Krum's lips as he looked at them before walking back out. Caspian could hear Amora whisper something to Poppy quietly after the Russian boy left the room. A spike of jealousy tugged at Cass' heart when he realized both of them had probably swooned over Krum at least once in the past couple of days. He didn't care much about what Amora did- it was mostly the possibility of Poppy feeling something for Viktor that bothered him. Though if for some odd reason someone asked him about how he felt about the situation, Cass would most likely shrug it off and say that he didn't care what Poppy did. He wouldn't reveal how he truly felt to someone if he couldn't even explain it to himself.
After Krum left, Caspian watched as his brother Kennedy entered the room. He was shocked to see the Ravenclaw place his name in his goblet- especially since he was never one to take risks. Cass had always been the one in the family (at least on the roque side) that was adventurous and didn't care about the consequences of his actions. Kennedy, on the other hand, was overly cautious and analytical of situations. He thought of what he would do before actually completing his actions and saying things to people. The two brothers were polar opposites- the only things that could be used to tell that they were related would be the last name and the fact that they were practically identical in looks. Despite his stepfather's wishes, they didn't have a very good sibling relationship. Lysander had attempted to force them to bond in previous years due to his desire for the family to be picture perfect, though it only drove the two further apart.
Kennedy Roque's eyes lingered on Poppy even after he put his name in the goblet. It was as if he was in a trance before Caspian snapped him out of it. "Got anything better to do than gawk? Here, I've got a suggestion: you should read a book that's about how to behave in public." He said, obviously noticing how much attention his brother was giving his friend. Cass thought it was extremely odd and didn't feel like having Kennedy being a creep around Poppy, especially since to his knowledge they had never even spoken to each other before. The Ravenclaw opened his mouth to say something but decided against it when he saw the fire that was in Caspian's eyes. Kennedy quickly walked out of the dining hall, resembling a dog with its tail in between its legs as he left. Cass muttered something under his breath before following after him. He wasn't exactly in the mood to be reprimanded for being rude to his brother, but most of all he didn't want to be questioned about being protective of Poppy.
• • •
Later that night, Caspian found himself walking back to the dining hall alone. His blood was still slightly heated from the incident that occurred just hours before and he decided against bringing his friends' moods down as well. As he walked through the massive wooden doors, Cass could feel the excited energy that was buzzing through the room from the students. The names of the Triwizard Champions were going to be announced by Dumbledore as soon as everyone settled down. Caspian didn't hurry to his seat next to Jasper since he wasn't exactly that eager to hear the names of the lucky wizards & witches that would get to compete. Though, he knew he could get some galleons off of his friend if he bet on who would be picked so he didn't mind it much.
The elder wizard's voice boomed around the room as he began talking. "Students, please sit!" Albus Dumbledore called for everyone's attention and dimmed the amount of light in the room by lowering the torch fires. Caspian slid over to his spot next to Jasper and gave him a nod as a hello. He glanced in Poppy's direction, but instead of saying/doing anything he just looked away. "The moment you all have been waiting for has come. It is time to select the Triwizard Champions!" Murmurs spread throughout the room as students started talking about who they thought would be picked. Cass nudged Jasper with his elbow in order to get him to look over. "You still up for that bet on Krum?" He whispered before having his attention drawn away by the fire in the goblet that was now burning red.
The flames swirled the same as they did when they threw Cass out of the circle. A crumpled piece of paper flew out of the fire into Dumbledore's steady hands. It was evident that the person was from Dumstrang due to the appearance of the parchment. Caspian sat on the edge of his seat, hoping that the name which was called would not be Viktor Krum. He didn't actually feel like coughing up two galleons to Jasper if it was, but a bet was a bet & he would do it if necessary. The headmaster unfolded the paper and read off the chosen person's name. "Viktor Krum!" As soon as his name was announced, the room erupted in cheers of approval. Caspian lightly banged his fist on the wooden table and swore under his breath. He passed Jasper two galleons from his robe pocket reluctantly. "You win this bet, but you owe me some money if he turns out to be the victor." Cass reminded him. Another piece of paper soon followed the last- this time it was dainty and sky blue in appearance. 'Beauxbatons.' He thought, easily recognizing the type of paper that he had seen the girls place in the goblet only hours before. "Fleur Delacore!" Dumbledore yelled out. Caspian raised his eyebrows while taking a sip of his drink as he watched the beautiful blonde girl practically skip toward their headmaster. "Wouldn't mind taking her out." Cass commented to Jasper as a joke. "Bet I could get a date?" Another not-to-be-taken-seriously question came out of his mouth as the supposedly last piece of paper fluttered out of the goblet. "And finally, the Hogwarts champion- Kennedy Roque!" Caspian's jaw dropped when he heard his brother's name announced. 'Are you kidding me?' He thought while watching Kennedy proudly walk up to Dumbledore to shake his hand. "He isn't even going to last a full minute in that competition." Cass muttered out of spite. He looked over at Poppy for a moment to see whether or not she reacted, but averted his gaze before she could catch him.
Once the last bit of cheering for Caspian and Amora's brother stopped, Dumbledore raised his hands and smiled. "Excellent! We now have our three champions! But in the end, only one will go down in history and hoist this chalice of champions. The Triwizard Cup!" Albus said while beckoning to the garish statue that Crouch was carrying out. Cass stared at the reward in awe, though something burned in his body as he realized that it would have been what he could have won if his trickery had been successful. He furrowed his eyebrows when he looked back at the goblet of fire. The flames had started to flicker red again, symbolizing that there was another name to be chosen. "What the hell..?" Caspian questioned in confusion. Another name being sputtered out couldn't be possible- Crouch and Dumbledore themselves had clearly announced that there were only three champions. Though despite all odds, a fourth piece of parchment was spit out of the burning flames of the goblet. The headmaster himself seemed to be dumbfounded at the paper that was now laying in his hands. Dumbledore whispered something at first as if to convince himself that this abnormality was possible. He whipped his head around to search the crowd with wide eyes and finally spoke up. "Jasper.. Jasper Cage!" Caspian nearly spit out his drink when he heard the old wizard say his best friend's name. He assumed that the headmaster's vision was failing him, but the repetition of his words proved the boy wrong. The dining hall was silenced by Dumbledore's announcement and it was obvious that everyone was left in shock.
Caspian stared at Jasper in confusion as Poppy forced him to stand up and start walking toward the headmaster. Resentment began to build in Cass for his friend while he thought. 'He never even told me that he entered. How in the name of Merlin did he bloody manage to do it and get the goblet to choose him?' He grit his teeth together as his temper grew, causing him to want to leave the room. Multiple students yelled out in opposition to Jasper being chosen by the magical chalice. "He's a cheat!" Draco Malfoy snarled from the Slytherin table. Caspian looked over at him and Amora, surprised that she would allow him to scream out like that. Though when he searched his sister's face, all he saw was hurt and disbelief. Cass realized that Jasper's actions were a surprise to all of them, though he couldn't even take comfort in that. All he could feel was anger toward his companion- and he could tell that it wouldn't be fading any time soon.♚ makaio
— AMORA JULII —
don't get too close, it's dark inside.
From the moment that Caspian told them his plan, Amora knew it would be a disaster. Though like any sibling, she enjoyed seeing her brother getting humiliated and allowed him to carry out his 'fool proof' idea. She had to admit that she was impressed by his confidence and ability to rile up the other students. It seemed that everyone who was underage was angry about Crouch's rule, and they started to show it once Caspian finished his speech. Amora rolled her eyes and stood back with Jasper & Poppy to wait for her brother to embarrass himself like always.
"It's not going to work." A voice next to Amora spoke before Caspian took the first sip of his potion. Amora nudged Poppy as if to say, 'Don't ruin the fun', but it was too late- Cass had already heard her. She bit her lip slightly as he sauntered over to them, making it a point to loom over Poppy. Being his typical self, Caspian retorted with some phrase he probably heard while watching a terrible quality movie. She looked between the two and raised an eyebrow, noticing a bit ofsexualtension. Amora shifted backward uncomfortably into Jasper by accident in an attempt to get away from them. She could feel the heat rise to her cheeks in an obvious blush as she turned to face him. The apology she was about to say became caught in her throat when she looked into his warm brown eyes. For some reason, her heart seemed as if it was about to leap out of her chest in that moment. Amora let out an awkward-embarrassment laugh before quickly scurrying to the other side of Poppy once Caspian walked back to continue his plan. 'What's wrong with me? It's just Jasper.' The confused Slytherin girl questioned in her head, but didn't dare to take another glance over her shoulder at Jasper. She barely paid attention as her brother held up his magical potion and downed it in two gulps. The next few moments were a blur as she focused on everything except what was happening in front of her, and before she knew it, there Caspian was- facedown at Poppy's feet.
Amora had to blink multiple times in order to help herself process what she had just witnessed. Apparently, Dumbledore had placed a stronger protection spell on the goblet than Caspian had thought. This was obvious because of how he was quickly thrown out of the ring by the fire once he placed his name in the chalice. She watched in shock as her brother pushed himself up from the floor. Amora didn't recognize the boy at first due to the fact that he no longer appeared to be himself. Caspian now had wrinkly pale skin with moles attached to it in various places. The intense curvature of his spine caused him to have a hunch. His hands shook as he raised them closer to his face so he could examine them. Amora was sent into a fit of laughter when her brother looked at her in horror. Caspian's face was the worst part of his transformation since it was completely morphed. His once clear green eyes were now a murky hazel, darkened with the years that were added to his age. There were barely any teeth in his mouth and the ones that he did have were a bright yellow in color.
Amora swished her wand and whispered a spell that made a mirror appear so Caspian could understand how terrible he looked. She started to laugh even harder when a girlish squeal came out of his mouth at the sight of himself. His begging for Amora to transform him back made the disaster even better to her. 'Totally worth not warning him about the consequences.' She thought, clearly amused as he got down on his knees and continued to plead her to make him attractive again. "Who said you were before this?" Amora snickered at his panic before deciding to reverse Dumbledore's spell. Her entertainment was short lived though because of the sudden entrance of Viktor Krum.
The only man that Amora had ever known to silence a room within seconds was her father- Lysander Julii. Due to his high status in the wizarding society, Lysander could easily stop any activity in a single room and cause everyone to cast their gaze upon him. He was well respected and incredibly wealthy so most wizards and witches gave him either handshakes or nods of acknowledgement when he walked past. The same treatment was given to all of the members of the Julii-Roque clan in public. Amora could remember instances when she was younger where she would walk while holding her father's comforting hand in Hogsmeade and get stopped at times for pictures to be taken of them. She would always be confused as to why she needed to have her picture taken since she was just walking like any other person. Despite her reluctance, a cheeky smile could always be seen on Amora's face in the pictures that would appear on the front page of the majority newspapers & magazines the next day. Her father would hold her in his arms since she was the smallest child amongst her siblings at the time, and together they would seem like the perfect family that he wanted them to be.
Viktor Krum was now the only boy that Amora ever knew to silence a room within seconds. The effect that he had on the students in the room was somewhat overwhelming. Every person who had been laughing at Cass stopped to look at Viktor. It was probably beneficial for her brother since it ended his public humiliation, but the silence in the room only made Amora more uncomfortable. The fact that Krum held intense eye contact with her & Poppy the entire time he was there made it worse. Once he left, Amora let out the breath that she hadn't realized she had been holding when Krum was watching her. She tucked a piece of her platinum blonde hair behind her ear and glanced at Poppy before speaking up in a quiet voice. "He should've taken a picture of us or something if he wanted to memorize what we look like." She muttered to her friend. Other students had apparently also taken notice of the direction of Krum's gaze since most of them had started to look at the two girls. "If you don't want me to place a hex on you, I would highly advise looking away." Amora rolled her eyes, becoming quite annoyed with the undesired stares. If she had wanted to be looked at this much, she would have applied for a position as a model for the first year art class.
Amora quickly got over the intruding stares of the other students when Caspian snapped at their older brother, Kennedy, for watching Poppy. She found it odd since Cass usually didn't get angry about simple things such as that. She would have inquired about his sudden outburst once Kennedy had left, but to Amora's surprise, Caspian exited the room moments after their brother did. Amora shook her head and sighed before deciding not to follow him. It would be better for him to just cool off without anyone else bothering him even though she knew that either her or Poppy could calm him down. She turned to both Poppy and Jasper in defeat, obviously done with the abnormality of the night. "Cass probably didn't mean to be so defensive. I guess he still had a stick up his ass about his plan not turning out the way he wanted or something." Amora said as a poor excuse for her brother. "I think I'm going to go take a nap before dinner though. Too much weirdness tires me out I suppose." She was referring to basically everything that had happened within the past hour or so. Amora waved goodbye to the both of them but didn't walk out without taking a lingering look at Jasper.
••••
When it came time for dinner, Amora headed over to the entrance of the Gryffindor common room to wait for Poppy, Jasper, and Caspian. She planned to talk to Poppy about everything that had happened between her and Cass that day- between the unusually tense moment that they had all the way up to him defending her when Kennedy looked at her as if she was a piece of meat- once the meal ended. Once Jasper and Poppy came out of the common room, the group waited for at least another ten minutes for Cass to show up. He always walked with them, no matter what mood he was in, but this time was supposedly different because he never arrived. "Was he sleeping in your room? Or did he leave to blow off some steam with one of the Beauxbaton girls?" Amora wiggled her eyebrows when she asked Jasper the second question, making herself laugh a little bit. Caspian might have been idiotic and terrible at magic most of the time, but he had gained himself the reputation of being a manwhore in his years at Hogwarts. Amora had no idea what girls saw in her brother and refused to listen to the ridiculously stupid rumors that he was a good kisser amongst other things. She ended up either plugging her ears or silencing other girls when they started to talk about it. She believed she was justified in doing so- after all, who would want to know what their sibling has done and to who?
Amora pushed open the massive wooden doors to reveal a crowd of standing students. They were all talking about the same thing- who would be the Triwizard Champions? She rolled her eyes and said goodbye to her friends. "Draco's probably wondering where I've been, so unfortunately our amazingly short time together must end. My 'prince' awaits!" Her voice had a sarcastic tone to it as she spoke. Amora gave Poppy a quick hug and used the opportunity to tell her friend to meet her after dinner in the bathroom. It was an odd place to meet, yes, but it was the first thing she came up with. She stuck her tongue out at Jasper as a joke before making her way through the crowd of students to the Slytherin table.
Draco was waiting for her at the table without Crabbe and Goyle at his side. The sight surprised Amora since it was so unusual for Draco to be alone. 'Is everything backwards today?' She thought as she sat down. The blonde haired boy genuinely smiled at her once she turned to him and placed a small kiss on her soft lips. It was one of the few that they shared without having the accompaniment of whoops and hollers from the other Slytherins so Amora let herself enjoy it. "Glad to see the grump is in a slightly better mood than last night. Guess I do have an effect on you after all!" She teased with a smirk. Malfoy rolled his eyes and told her to be quiet, though his gaze remained soft. "What, afraid to have other people realize that you're actually sort of nice?" Amora poked while looking at him. When he allowed a blush of embarrassment to answer for him, a mischievous grin appeared on Amora's face. Draco didn't even have to ask to realize what she was about to do. Amora quickly stood up from her seat before Malfoy could stop her and began to expose her boyfriend. "Hey everyone! Draco Malfoy is actually a good per-" The girl wasn't able to finish her sentence because Draco gently grabbed her and tugged her back down, covering her mouth in order to muffle anything. He glared sheepishly at the people who stared at them and caused Amora to laugh by doing so. "I hate you so much." He muttered, but couldn't help smiling slightly. "Oh no you don't. That smile tells me everything that I need to know," Amora said with a laugh before looking up to Dumbledore.
"Students, please sit!" Dumbledore called out as he walked over to the goblet of fire. He explained how the moment they had been waiting for had come and began to announce the champions. It wasn't surprising that Viktor Krum was chosen as a champion- she had actually supposed that it was rigged since it was too obvious. Amora recognized the girl who was picked from Beauxbatons to be the one who Caspian had recently been joking about getting together with. Though with his absence before dinner, she wouldn't be all that shocked if her brother's words happened not to be jokes.
When the Hogwarts champion was announced as Kennedy Roque, Amora looked just as shocked as Cass did. Kennedy was not fit to be in the Triwizard Cup- and she didn't just think this because she hated her step brother. As some people at Hogwarts would say it, Kennedy was just an 'off brand version' of Caspian. The two looked exactly alike but even with this similarity anyone could tell them apart. If Kennedy wasn't extremely intelligent, there would be nothing differentiating him from a cardboard box. He was weak willed and only spit facts out during conversation. It was as if he was a robot that was only programmed to answer questions and say random things. Kennedy also had a thing against Slytherins which he took out on Amora whenever they had family dinners. She found it to be the most annoying thing in the world and usually ended up eating in the sitting room despite her father's protests. He wouldn't last a moment in the competition, but she knew that she would find it amusing to watch him be utterly destroyed by every trial.
After the Champions were chosen, Dumbledore continued to ramble on about how only one would receive the Triwizard Cup as a reward. He called it the 'chalice of champions', which Amora considered to basically be a fancy way of saying 'you get an oversized cup if you win'. She didn't exactly see the glamor in the competition, but she was obviously the only one who didn't since everyone in Hogwarts had been talking about it. Amora had always preferred gaining her glory by being the best at everything she did and moving to the top rank in her class. It wasn't an easy place to maintain, seeing as Poppy was superhuman smart, but she knew that she needed to keep it in order to please her father. Outside of academics, Amora liked to release her frustration while playing Quidditch. She was one of the few girls that was on the team, and one of the even fewer who could actually play. She did have her weaknesses though, such as her quick temper and fear of failure. Both of these traits put together in a sticky situation did not mix well and often caused her to get into fights over silly things.
Of all things, the swirling fire caught Amora's attention for the last time. She hadn't exactly been listening to Dumbledore's speech but she knew that there was only supposed to be three Champions. 'So why is it choosing another?' Amora thought in confusion and glanced around to see if anyone else took notice of what was happening. Dumbledore appeared to be just as bewildered as the rest of the students in the room because he had to do a double take at the fourth piece of parchment paper that had landed in his hands. He whispered something to himself before searching the room with eyes so wide that Amora could see the whites from where she was sitting. Her heart completely dropped when the headmaster yelled out the name that was messily scribbled on the paper. "Jasper.. Jasper Cage!" Dumbledore proclaimed with an unsettling amount of fear in his voice. Amora dropped the sparkling metal fork that she had been staring at out of boredom just a moment before from shock. Even though Amora had acknowledged the longing in Jasper's eyes when he stared at the goblet, she never would have thought he'd violate Dumbledore & Crouch's rules. 'There must be a mistake. He would have said something- anything if he was planning to try to enter.' She thought as she tried to wrap her head around what was happening. Amora wouldn't believe that Jasper put his name in the cup, and he had some serious explaining to do if he did. She watched her best friend in shock as he walked up to Dumbledore, seeking as if he had just been sentenced to death. Multiple students were screaming in protest including Draco but she was too busy trying to figure out Jasper's reasons to stop him. No matter what scenario she came up with, nothing made sense. Amora sighed in frustration and put her head in her hands as she came up with her decision. 'I have to talk to him.'♚ makaio
