Dawn burst full speed ahead, not much of her energy left. A big, muscular brown tom with black tabby stripes and dark, dark brown eyes was ganging in on her. She could feel his hot breath on her back.

"Oh, joy!" Spice exclaimed, deeply nodding to escort Chill, the leader. "Bye!" she cried, waving to Chill. What is she talking about? My kits always obey me. Well, almost always. I'll go see if they're still sleeping. Spice got to her paws. Stepping outside, she stretched, yawned, and blinked in the sunlight.
About 15 minutes later...
Demon, Stream and Darkness made it to the lake. What lay in front of them scarred their lives forever. A beautiful brown-and-cream tortie with cold, blue eyes lay in a puddle of blood, her front left arm and right back leg ripped off, the bones and scraps of her muscles sitting by the bloody stumps. Her tail was cut off in the middle. There was no rest of the tail; it could've been eater or thrown somewhere. One of her eyes was missing, the other eye glazed over. Her mouth was open wide; it looked as if she was choking. If you looked closely at her, the roof of her mouth was alive with fresh blood and cuts, and in the back of her throat was a large, dusty stone. Yes, she was choking when she died. Yowls and cries for help echoed around the clearing the lake was in. "Hellllllpppppp!!!!!!!" someone screeched. Another badly torn coffee-colored tom lay lifeless on the ground, twitching, blood dripping from the cuts and wounds on his body. The kits didn't look at him too much; he was more bloodied than the she-cat. "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHGGGG!!!!!!!!!!..........." Sobbing, then silence. Darkness, the oldest of the kits stepped forward to look at the lake. It was red. Blood red. She turned back to look at her siblings, worry in her eyes. "It's red. The lake's red." she murmured. Stream and Demon exchanged glances, and then ran off screaming. "No," she whispered. "You're going to alert the killers.." She took a quick glimpse around. More dead cats and half-alive ones. As she stumbled after her brother and sister, she looked back, seeing shadows and four or five pairs of red eyes.
