    No Ryan and no Calla, huh? Well, they'd have time to turn up later and Xylia and Eualie were audience enough. "As always, we'll welcome our new joiner first. Eualie, welcome to the crew, let me know if there's anything you need. Activity could've been better. Also, I'd like to see some more open threads, I'm worried about how many are private. Let's collectively get on that, alright?" No mistake should be made, she'd be helping get more open threads rolling too, she just didn't want to be the only one.

    "Big thank you to Xylia for taking care of the weekly stuff, it really is appreciated. There's not too much to announce this week in events and politics, aside from an event in BloodClan which will be linked down below, as will a poll about a plot. Lastly, I'm afraid Calla is demoted as I've barely seen her at all this month." Which... sucked. She couldn't lose Calla again, not after finding her again. I shouldn't have told her everything.

    OOC Summary:
    -Big welcome to Eualie/Salty!
    -Activity still isn't doing too great, let's try and pick it up.
    -We need some more open threads, as I'm noticing quite a few private ones right now I know I'm in pretty much all of them shh and not so many open ones.
    -Big thanks to Xylia for taking care of the weekly stuff.
    -BloodClan is having a party, linked here.
    -Poll about a possible take over here.
    -Calla is demoted for inactivity.
    -What even is this meeting idek.

    It would be better, maybe even easier, to let this go and move on. Pretend like she was ok with what had happened and that she'd forgiven Xylia. But Sel was not the kind of person to forgive and forget, and she knew herself too well to not know that the resentment was already beginning to fester, the same kind of resentment that drove her to plot ways to hurt Caera for the things her Clan had done.

    And when the resentment was for her deputy, her apprentice, that could only lead to problems.

    "Have you considered your position, Xylia? In your Clan, as First Mate, the one who will succeed me when I get sick of this place or kick the bucket or whatever the gods have in store for me. Someday, it's going to be you leading. And guess what kid, you'll have to deal with plenty of conversations you'd really rather not have, and if you don't, you won't survive. And neither will this Clan" Truth and falsities were two weapons she wielded very carefully. First they were used to cut someone down, to destroy them. Then they became tools to build them back up.

    The Captain tilted her head back. "But if you don't want to talk about it, I'll tell you a story. Once upon a time, I hurt someone. I hurt him very badly. Didn't think anything of it until his father confronted me. As you can imagine, it was a difficult conversation, one I didn't want to have. But if I didn't have it, we'd be at war with a Clan far bigger than us." She went silent for a few moments, letting it sink in. Xylia should more or less already be aware of the situation with WindClan, but if it sounded somewhat familiar that probably wasn't the only reason why. "It's not a perfect example, of course. The fate of our Clan isn't at stake like in the story." She shrugged and stood up. "Consider what I said, Xylia. I'll be by the bow." And with that the feline walked off, assuming that it wouldn't be terribly long before the ferret joined her.

    Sel knew precisely what she was, and she had a pretty good idea of why she was this way. She knew that she was an amalgamation of different influences, the biggest being the influences of her mother and her two brothers. Slowpaw and Lostcause were probably the only ones that had kept her from becoming a true monster like their mother.

    She got a lot of her fight from her mother (though perhaps her rebelliousness was more encouraged by Lostcause), but she also got her vileness and vindictiveness from her mother. But the elder feline shaped more than just personality, she shaped the way Sel responds to pain and punishment, and taught her the mantra "when the world is cruel to you, you must be cruel to it. You must have your revenge. One way or another, you must take back what was taken from you."

    That alone changed her attitude towards the world. It was why she hurt people when she was hurt (one of the reasons, anyway), and why that poor little girl in the Cartel was going to pay, despite never doing a damn thing wrong.

    I wanted to write a lot more but? Didn't really have the muse.
    I'll also probably write about the first person Sel killed bUT because that's a reveal I'm not ready to reveal yet, you're gonna have to wait

    While she waited by the bow, she stared at the water, wondering. Had she done too much to try and dismantle Xylia (success or not), and too little to rebuild her stronger? Breaking people down was easy, second nature. Rebuilding them was harder, took concentration... lately she hadn't really been able to focus on any one of the thousand things going on in her life, let alone the kid that was avoiding her.

    Just as Sel predicted, Xylia came over, but what she had to say was both unexpected but still not a surprise. "Of course you did." She sighed. "What did she say this time?"

    Sel grinned - god, this was what she needed. "Thanks, dollface. We're pirates - if you're not careful, I might end up stealing you're booty." Another flirtatious wink and a tail flick. "Yeah... least not where people can judge me for it." She joked, but she really was trying to stay sober for them. She didn't give a fuck about getting judged.

    She chuckled. "I'd love to see someone try to make my decisions for me. What about you, hon, do you deserve some fun too?" Unfortunately the scent manipulation went unnoticed by Sel, who lacked a sense of smell.

    Sel shrugged casually, hey, if it encouraged a closer, stronger alliance, then it was worth it in her book. "Well, their backs are pretty sharp, so it's inadvisable that you touch their backs. They also aren't all like Amethyst - overall Gemats are pretty hot-headed, y' know? They like places with a lot of undergrowth, especially if there's flowers, and their lifespan is about a year." She gently tugged the rope leash, bringing the reddish-pelted gemat forward to meet Cyrus.

    Sel nodded. She was doing her best to leave her human life behind, but she was still going to acknowledge that it had happened. "Yeah. People die and get reincarnated into different bodies all the time, right? Same thing happened to me." Honestly, the weirdest thing to her was that humans had their separate kingdom and animals had theirs, where all different species came together and mingled.

    //low muse

    "Go ahead, Xylia." Having a big event with all their allies would be great, actually.

    //rushed + low muse

    But however briefly, hadn't Lucy gone to the Foundation, where the Brotherhood had resided? Pippa and Romanpaw at least were able to know that she was alive. At least, as much as she could be. Sel had been gone, replaced with someone who was very different. She'd been gone the rest of the time, but at least they didn't have to wonder. They didn't need to be driven insane wondering if Sel was ok or not, if she was even alive.

    SkyClan? God, she was pretty sure she'd only heard of the Clan in leader gatherings, but other than that didn't know much of anything about it. Let alone where it was. I'll see you there, I guess. Even if she didn't come back for a few days... well, it'd be good for Xylia to get some practice being in charge.

    //frigging. what is this post

    Huh, that was a weird thing for Neph to specify, but whatever. "Saying she's my sister is a lot easier than saying 'she's practically my sister'." Sel deadpanned. The news that Pippa had escaped and was alive was certainly welcome, though that put her back where she started. Pippa could be anywhere... but at least she wasn't dead or rotting in that hole.

    "Of course I don't trust her! Right around the time things started becoming weird with Pippa and she stopped appearing in the Eclipse Force is right when Nephele showed up with something that belonged to Pippa, which happened to be covered in blood." Her lip curled. "No. I don't fucking trust her." It made her batty that her only leads to her best friend's whereabouts came from her.

    Sel hugged. "We'll just have to find her first. If Neph wants to see Pippa so bad, she can see her where I'm watching." If something went bad... well, they were two wolves and she was a pregnant cat. But she was a pregnant cat that could shapeshift and wield a growing number of weapons.

    Sel had encountered many reincarnated humans in her life, though she hadn't known it. All too often her relationships with others were too brief and shallow for such discussions, though it was a bit of information about herself that she saw no reason to hide. Her knowledge of humans and their technologies and medicines made her stronger, and if anyone took issue with her because she used to be a human, she'd happily tear them apart with words.

    "What part?" She asked, an amused smile playing on her lips. She'd never known about the animal world, but she'd never ventured into any wild places... unless you considered the city "wild".

    It was times like this that she really missed Nico - her apprentice had been far more knowledgeable about the creatures than she, but sadly it had been more than a month since she'd last seen him. "Looks like it just finished maturing - I'd say probably a couple months old."

    It wasn't as if she had to look around every corner or anything - she'd gotten into a few fights but the most recent life threatening things that had happened to her had been from a few months ago. Still, it felt like the world had it out for her, and she couldn't say she hadn't earned it. "Thanks." Though she wasn't really sure who she was anymore.

    She smiled at Frightfur and Arachnophobia. "That's what I like to hear. Now, Dimitri and I had some events planned - ColouredClan was going to host a meet and greet of sorts here, and show us your traditions and whatnot, then we'd all return to the Skulls for a Rum Night, are you guys still up for that?"

    Wow... he was actually taking this a lot better than she thought he would. The question suggested that he'd probably rather she didn't, but it wasn't phrased in the worst way possible. Him being happy would be a dream, but one of those dreams that is so surreal you know it isn't really happening. This was probably the best reaction she could ask for. Still, her voice was snide as she responded. "Do you see an abortion clinic around here? What the fuck do you think?" Even if that was an option, she hardly thought that she'd take it.

    Would she? Ryan certainly didn't want them and would far more likely than not be a terrible father and her... She'd had several litters now, and all but Romanpaw had disappeared. She was no better of a parent than he'd be, especially with her instability. She was tired of it all, now. It all felt hopeless.

    But they were still her children, and she'd still do anything for them. Even if she could get an abortion, she wouldn't. As fucked up as she and Ryan were, and as fucked up as the kids would end up, at the end of the day her kids were the most important thing to her.

    A nice name. Sure, she wouldn't deny that (though there might be more protests if this wasn't a human au where her name is Selena instead of Selfdestruction). And the way he said it - with sleepy affection - was kind of nice too. The same way poison might taste sweet before it killed you, or too much sugar would taste the same before it made you sick. "I don't want to hear you say it."

    God, when was the last time she let loose? Not counting the night with Ryan, it was probably with Deathstroke... Which was a while ago. Definitely long enough that Sel eagerly bought creamcloud 's words about her deserving some fun. "That sounds wonderful." The Captain purred.

    YAMAZAKI snagged her attention once more, distracting her from her new lady friend. "Is Sommy more to your liking?" She asked, joking because that sounded kind of ridiculous. "I haven't." Oddly enough, she didn't much care for sweets, though that probably had something to do with a diminished sense of taste, which led to a preference for salty things... since she could actually taste them.

    Unfortunately, she couldn't get back to Hadley or even try one of the treats, because an irritatingly familiar voice had joined the sea of conversation, but she knew this was directed towards her and her companions. Oh right, forgot that God hates me. "Go enjoy the party, Ryan. Leave me alone." Lately he'd been pretty good about listening to her to stay on her good side, though she doubted the streak would continue here.

    Things moved at a more... relaxed pace here, but Sel knew plenty about things moving rapidly, ranks and relationships changing in the blink of an eye. Hell, even people could change suddenly - she had when she lost her son.

    Ah, she'd been expecting a visit from Barbara any day now, though part of her wondered if because of the invite, she might skip this visit (which wouldn't really be a problem, since there'd been a party). It seemed the tabby was good at keeping up with things though, because here she was. "Hey, Barbie, thanks for stopping by. What's the news?"

    She'd done all this before - the morning sickness, the announcement, the pregnancy overall, giving birth and of course raising the kids. And while she'd always let the kits know their father, she'd never actually raised them with the father in the same Clan.

    They all also had some desire to be parents, with the exception of Bill who hadn't cared. They hadn't understood why she felt the need to inform them of the litter.

    So safe to say, Ryan was a whole new ballgame.

    He was taking it as well as he could, though. She could appreciate that... a little. It seemed now he was up to something though, what with the tentative call meant to draw the Clan's attention. Well, he had hers and Xylia's, at least.

    //what even is this

    Well shit, she was awful late to this. Xylia had arrived before her and accepted, and Ryan had turned up too and promised to attend. Damn, she should be late more often. "I'll be there too, of course." She said - an event over in her old Clan? Count her in.
