Even though she was still young, Seraphina had already grown quite large. Though, it was nice to grow bigger, it was just harder for her to start finding a way to stay sheltered from the chilly night air. It wasn't summer yet, and at night, it still grew quite cold. And since she was such a big dragon already, Seraphina didn't really fit in any of the cabins.
So, for awhile now, the girl started wishing she could be smaller. Maybe even become a different animal, too, since being a dragon all the time kind of got awkward. Phina fell asleep that night, under a willow tree, still wishing she would be a smaller animal.
As she slept, she had one of the strange dreams she always had. She was a girl who was quite tall, with long brown hair. In every dream of this sort she had, it always included the same set of people. A dark-skinned child with curly black hair, a woman around the same age as her who had her golden hair tied into pigtails, and another man that was a little older then her, by a year or two. The curly-haired little boy was the youngest of the group. No one in the group would talk to her, they just...walked around.
Though, with each dream, Seraphina found out something else about them every time, even if they didn't say a thing. The two other teens were clearly royaltly, just by the way they were dressed. The way the little boy jumped around, she figured he had to be some type of dancer. The things she knew about them were all characteristics. The only thing she didn't know so far was their names.
So she made nicknames up for them. The little boy was named Fruit Bat, only because he almost always had an apple or orange with him. The golden hair girl was known as Golden Honey, because of her hair. And the male.. his nickname was Aristotle. Only because he looked like he was interested in philosophy.
During the dream, they headed out together, down a large hill. Golden Honey held a basket and a blanket, so Seraphina figured that they were going on a picnic. Phina was right. When they stopped at the bottom of the hill, the other girl laid out the blanekt, and everyone sat down on it. They shared the food, and played silent games together, before Seraphina felt something on her arm. Suddenly doubling over, she felt shooting pain through her back and her left arm, groaning in pain.
Was this dream turning into some sort of nightmare? Phina didn't know, but she could definietly feel the pain. Biting her lip, she focused on trying to get herself out of the dream. Opening her eyes a bit, she saw that her friends in the dream didn't notice her pain, they kept on playing as if nothing was happening. Suddenly falling to the ground, Seraphina dropped to her knees, before her eyes because clouded with black.
By the time she could see again, she was blinking her brown eyes in the sunlight. She had rolled out from beneath her tree, and she felt blinded. Slowly getting up with a groan, the girl stumbled around in blindness from the light, not noticing how small she was now.
Seraphina had shifted into a serval body.
