[justify][size=8][color=silver]The announcement from the High King perplexed the large horse, and he frowned for a few moments, the wheels in his head slowly turning. He bore no love, nor hatred for the name, it was his merely because of the former Prince Duncan, who had charged him with watching out for his adopted sister, the former High Queen Jocelyn. But now, with everything that had happened, Exodus had merely taken on the name out of respect for his former lord, and lady. His tail twitched behind him, and he snorted, having had something in his nose which agitated the stallion.
"Sire." The black horse started, one of his front feet pawing at the ground restlessly, "Though I hold the Baratheon name, it is merely out of a debt that I formerly held to the late Prince Duncan, and the late, former high queen Jocelyn..." The horse started, his eyes downcast, as he was about to say something that pained him, but it did have to be said. "I understand the Baratheon house is no longer of it's former glory, and if I can prove myself, and this house I will, however, if I cannot, I understand the need to remove it's importance." It was hard for him to say this, because he was a bit stubborn on the honorable loyalty thing.
"I am a Baratheon by... promise." Had anyone actually heard his story of having his life saved by the stag? Probably not, but Exodus understood why the Baratheon house was no longer... great. Times had changed, they always changed. There had been a time when all the land had been separate, there had been a time when the Martell's were great. "I will do what I must... but if I should fail, I believe it is part of god's greater plan." The horse was not one for religion, but he did want to believe in an all powerful deity who controlled the fates.
"I would also like to take this opportunity." Exodus paused for a moment to gather his words. He was not good with them, he as not good with most things, except for fighting, his only real strength, "To pledge myself, my life, and my honor to you..." He was his best when he served others, and he liked the feeling he had from helping those who were above him in position, as well as intelligence.
(sorry, kinda sucks.)
