| ○ the princess ○ imagine any annoying older sister or mean girl from a typical 90's movie and you already have half of the princess' personality. she's a spoiled girl and isn't afraid to show off the fact that her family is the fifth richest family in the country. she makes enemies easily and the only person she seems to get along with most of the time is her boyfriend, the athlete, who she has been dating for two years. despite her ability to snap easily, tendency to come off as a brat, and talent to easily create drama, she will stick up for any of her friends in a situation and loves them more than anything. her goals after the summer end are to become a model and possibly even become engaged to the athlete. ○ the brains ○ this is the girl who is often called a walking dictionary, her brains landing her a scholarship that some could only dream about. her nose is usually buried in a book and she easily solves any drama that the princess may stir up. she has yet to be in a relationship, but it's pretty obvious that she and the rebel have feelings for each other, no matter how much they deny it. she's the one that anyone could trust and is always the shoulder to cry on. her goals after the summer end are to hopefully end up with the rebel, attend college and get a position in her dream job after that. ○ the musician ○ if you're looking for a girl with a heart purer than any other, you've found her. the musician is a beyond kind and caring girl who would do anything and everything for her friends. she's the one who is in charge of putting together playlists for parties and roadtrips and has many talents in the musical aspect of things. she has been in a relationship with the nerd since middle school, but as of recently it has turned into an on and off relationsip, but remains completely loyal to him even when they're not together. after the summer ends she plans on perusing her dreams as a musician. ○ the wildchild ○ one word used to describe the wildchild is crazy, although many others could easily be used. she is always at parties and known throughout the school for her wild actions. she's the type that hooks up with random boys at parties, but as of recently she has shown a soft spot for the writer. along with the princess, she is known for causing drama. after the summer ends she plans on traveling around the world. the guys :: ○ the athlete ○ we all know that guy who seems to be good at any sport that you can think of, and in this group of friends, he is that guy. he doesn't come off as the smartest guy in the group, but that doesn't mean he isn't intelligent either. he has been in a 'perfect' relationship with the princess for the past two years. his goals for when the summer end include attending his dream college and possibly even proposing to the princess if everything goes smoothly for the three summer months. ○ the rebel ○ as if any group of teenagers wouldn't be complete without the rebel. he is your typical bad boy with tattoos and leather jackets, making teenage girls swoon and his parents wish he had never been born. he'll do anything to get a thrill, even if that includes doing something illegal or breaking a heart. despite his nature, he has a huge soft spot for the brains and has always been there to stand up for her. and as of recently, the two have been very obviously crushing on one another. after the summer ends, he plans on hopefully becoming an artist of some sort. ○ the nerd ○ the nerd is very true to his title and is rather proud to show it. he can usually be found reading comic books, playing video games, or watching the latest sci-fi movie. he is an overall kind person and is always there for his friends, but can come off as cold and hostile at times. he is in an on and off relationship with the musician, the only reason that the relationship is this way is because he's afraid of being away from her when the summer is over. his plans for when the summer are over include attending college to become a game designer and hopefully ended his insecurities when it comes to his relationship. ○ the writer ○ ah yes, the boy most girls would only dream of dating in high school. he is the type that will constantly be writing, whether it's songs for the girl he is currently crushing on, poems for honors english, or just little stories to help express himself. he is the quietest one out of all the males and is a lot like the brains with the fact that he is a shoulder to cry on. as of recently he has been pretty affectionate towards the wildchild, but will deny any and every speculation of liking her. his goals after the summer ends are to attend college and hopefully become a writer professionally. everyone has bad days, that's something that all of us can agree on. they occur a few times a month or less for the normal person, but you see, i'm far from normal. most people would be sitting at home right now, two seasons deep in a show on netflix, eating twice their weight in food, and probably wearing the most comfortable clothes in the world. but here i am, sitting in an uncomfortable dress that's two sizes too small, eating a meal that is barely the size of a dollar but costs hundreds of them, and with the person that despises me like no other.
every day i had to be with him was a bad day for me, and i had to see his sickeningly gorgeous face nearly every other day. most girls would kill to be in my position right now, on a date with the lucas gardener, and a few months ago i would have preferred to do anything but be within a hundred feet of him. but here i was, in a position where i should be miserable with how the stupid live band sucked and how my high heels were surely forming blisters all over my feet, but because of him i found myself being okay with what was going on. lucas gardener is the most gorgeous guy in the world, another thing we can all agree on.
you see, a few months ago, back when i despised everything about his pretty face, management had me sign away eight months of my life to go out on fake dates with lucas. back then, i wanted to tear all my skin off and die opposed to pretend to be in love with him. but thankfully the two of us were good at our acting jobs because we hated each other more than anyone has hated before, but we surely put on a good show. we were hollywood's new it couple, the new relationship that teenagers had tumblr's dedicated to, the couple that the whole world adored. if only they knew how fake it was, honestly the two of us deserved grammy's for that one. but i'm just a normal girl underneath the money, talent, and fame. and my heart was bound to be set on him.
so now here i was, helplessly falling for a guy who truly hated my guts, finding pure bliss in fake dates and reading up on blogs dedicated to how wonderful of a couple we are. while he seemed to enjoy our arguments and time apart, i adored being with him and the limited number of conversations we had where we weren't screaming at one another.
i had stolen my fair share of glances at him, drinking in the gorgeousness that was lucas gardener. but i wanted more, i wanted to get drunk off of him and right now, i wasn't even close to tipsy. "we have to talk at some point you know." glancing up from my phone, i cracked a smile in hopes that he heard my hushed voice over the horrible background music. "i'm enjoying this just as much as you are, trust me, but there's no need to make it this boring for ourselves."
