Alexander took his seat next to Lafayette, fighting the urge to lay his head on his arms and sleep. Now wasn't the time, and neither was any other time of the day, so he'd have to wait it out - which he hated. Waiting, that is. Fighting, on the other hand...

He rubbed his eye softly, holding back a yawn, before looking back at the table. To keep his mind off his tiredness, he mused over debates he knew enough about, figuring out his definite opinion before working on finding facts to support his idea.

In this world, there were four kingdoms - Spades, Diamonds, Hearts, and Cloves. Currently, the 'Prince' of Spades was looking for a spouse. And really, she didn't want to get married to some stuck up snob who though they were better than everyone else because they were raised with money.
And yes, the prince was a girl. They weren't very stickling about gender rules - just that the Queen's job was to protect the King, as was the Jack's to protect them both and help them make decisions.
Anyway, the marriage. Her parents had told her she had two years to find someone or they would chose. And that's what the prince just got done dealing with - an offer from some douche. So, she went on a walk around the kingdom without telling anyone - which would get her in a lot of trouble later, but oh well.

    ______

    The Prince:

    The King and Queen:

The Jack(And the Prince's best friend):

    ______

Jamie sighed, escaping the crowded room she was just in. Her friend, Ann, had distracted the adults, allowing the prince to leave. Honestly, she was only sixteen, why'd she have to get married? She didn't even know her own sexuality, so how was she supposed to know if she could like them before they met?

With one last glance at the door, she hurried towards a little place only she and Ann knew about. A place she could use to get to the outside areas without getting caught. Pushing her way through the leaves and branches, Jamie quickly reached the rest of the village.

The area was a poorer one, so Jamie wouldn't be yelled at for having stuff in her 'clean' hair and a messy dress. She laughed softly, relishing the feeling of freedom that came over her as she started walking towards the town square.

Truthfully, Alexander was so lost in his thoughts that he didn't entirely realize anyone was talking to him, he just heard voices and other far away noises. He didn't look up from where he was looking until the bell rang, which shocked the little bit of sleepiness still in his system.

Stifling yet another yawn, Alex immediately wanted to write, or do something with something that could make a mark on a surface. However, he'd been doing that enough lately, and Lafayette seemed to want to do something with everyone.

So, he nodded in agreement. He could wait to write what he was wanting to. Maybe.

Alexander wasn't horrible - per say - at sports, but he wasn't the best. That, and he never really wanted to play. Happily, though he was too tired to really show it, he trailed behind them.

Almost immediately, he grabbed a pencil and paper. Not to draw - no, this was an opportunity to write. And he took any time he could to do what he liked. Alex didn't have a lot of time during the day anymore, so anytime he did he took advantage of it.

Now, sitting here on the bench, leaves dancing as they fall to the cold ground around me, I realize how I truly feel. Maybe not what I originally thought, from what I knew then. I'm not sure how I feel anymore... Hearing a new voice, he glanced up. Alex didn't remember him until Laurens said the boy's last name.

Jamie smoothed out her dress on instinct as she saw a few people, still giddy that she was free. With bright eyes, she looked around, nearly skipping because no one was there to tell her to 'walk properly'.

Eventually, she spotted a 'bakery'. Curious, Jamie trailed behind a small group of women. "I don't see why the prince" - Jamie flinched, but listened more intently at the word - "hasn't married yet." The women sighed in unison. "She's so pretty, anyone would be happy to marry her. Or even be in her shoes."

No you wouldn't, not if you felt the way I do. The girl shook her head softly, trying to forget what she heard, as she reached her destination.

Issue? That got Alexander's attention, but he managed to hide it somewhat as he looked back down. He didn't like very many people anyway, but Lee...

Taking a deep breath to make sure he didn't start anything, he went back to writing. He really didn't know where he was going with it, but it calmed him a little.

I don't usually regret what I've said or done, but looking back now, I've found my biggest mistake I'll ever make. And I've made a lot of decisions that ended badly in my life. I've always been one to jump to conclusions - everyone's done it - and I've done, and said, some questionable things too because I do.

The blonde smiled lightly, taking the cake gently. "Oh, hello! There's no need for those titles, okay?" Jamie said softly, "Out here, I'm Jamie. Nothing special about me." She paused a little at the question before sighing.

"I'm here because I don't want to get married. I find it stupid, and I can take care of myself. I'm not going to start ruling for at least another two years anyway, so I have time. That, and my parents are too controlling. The only friend I have is Ann, and a few maids, but we never have time to talk anymore. Oh, I'm rambling, aren't I? Sorry, that's something I shouldn't do."

Jamie held her tongue, keeping herself from saying something rude in reply. "I'm sure you'd do great as a baker - even if it's not a royal one. I think Aunt Jane was looking for a new one recently - I wonder if she's found one by now?"

As he continued, she kept thinking. "Maybe I could get you into the castle." She seemed to like the idea of having someone new around, "But you'd need new clothes. And I don't think you have the money. And you'd need to know the 'Royal Rules'." Jamie rolled her eyes as she used the air quotes - obviously not agreeing with whatever the rules entailed.

"Or you could help with the garden. Mother always liked the flowers - and no one can seem to keep them alive anymore." She paused, looking back at him as she had been looking away slightly. "That is, if you want to?"

Alex paused again, this time because he didn't know where to go with what he was writing. He pushed a loose strand of hair back, looking up as Laurens left the table. His eyes trailed the path for a moment, noting duly that he didn't seem happy.

Nervous was a word he'd use to describe it, did it have something to do with Lee? There was a strong possibility, really. Alright, but what sort of power does that a-hole hold over him? The question ran through his head as he looked back down at his own paper.

Laurens sat back down a few moments after. Deciding to work on the original piece again later, Hamilton drew a line and wrote about a new topic.

Alexander immediately wanted to decline. Who's to say Laurens wouldn't start yelling at him if he followed? And they've never agreed on anything he could remember. The only reason he didn't refuse was because he knew Lafayette wouldn't let him get away with it.

With a quiet sigh, Hamilton slowly trailed behind John, twiddling his fingers anxiously. For once in his life, he didn't know what to say - and he really didn't like that. It gave him a helpless feeling, made him feel weak, even though he knew he wasn't.

"You'd be surprised at how annoying my family loves money. Honestly, I've asked for really cheap things that look really cool, and they get something that's way more expensive - not to mention worse looking - because 'royalty shouldn't buy such cheap things'."

"Aunt Jane's pretty relaxed on how people look and financial stuff, but there's still a tradition. She worries more on skill - unlike my parents. You should see the food I have to eat, looks and tastes terrible." Jamie smiled and giggled softly, covering her mouth with her hand as she was taught to do.

At his offer, the blonde looked to see where the sun was to judge what time it was. "Hmm... I really don't want to go back, and if you want to take the offer, I could teach you some things. Well, lead the way, monsieur."

"Lafayette wanted me to talk to you." Alexander answered, barely managing to keep his voice steady. At the next question, Alex had to think. "I heard something about 'gay' but Lee does realize that originally meant happy, right?"

"Even then, I've never understood the whole 'sexuality' thing. You don't control who you like, so why do people think you do? And I don't see what's wrong with it. I'm Bi, too, so it's not like I can judge what you do." He knew he was rambling - again - but he really wanted to get that argument out of his head for awhile now.

Hamilton nodded, "You're welcome, though I guess you're right. I was a little hesitant to follow after you." He paused, thinking for a moment.

"Do you know what Lee wanted?" He questioned. "Because it didn't seem like it was for anything good. I don't like him that much, he seems evil. I don't trust him. He's kind of annoying, really. And how'd you meet him, if you don't mind me asking?"

"Stepmom?" The boy asked quietly, but he didn't try to push farther into the subject as he thought of why he didn't like Lee. "I just had a feeling he wasn't as great a person as people say. Not really anything he said - or did - to me."

He shrugged lightly. "Guess I was right. Though, if you don't like him, why'd he ask you for help? Surely he has 'friends' to help him. Or has he pushed them all away by his personality?"

Alexander's eyebrow rose a little when Laurens talked about his father. "Even if he did say something, you have friends to help you out here." He commented, though he didn't mean that he was one of them. He would help the other out if needed, however.

When John pointed to the boy, Alex narrowed his eyes in Lee's direction. "Do you think he would start a commotion around this many people?" Ha asked somewhat off-handedly. "Or get what he wanted with someone near you?"

"I'm willing to take the chance." Alexander said, more to himself than anything. "Were you going anywhere specific before you saw me?" The further they got away from Lee, the better.

The lake - pond - thing - was the furthest away, unless you counted the forest. But going there was probably not a good idea. Alex thought it was off-limits anyway, without guidance that is. Either way, he could deal with Lee pretty well - unless he counted the arguing he always seemed to find himself doing.

    (Alright)

Hazel ran up to the steps in front of the school, looking around for her group as Violet and Alice followed. "Kyla!" Hazel yelled, finally stopping. Said person made her way into the girl's line of sight, pulling a grumbling Ashley behind her.

"You doin' okay?" Kyla questioned. Violet and Alice caught up, stopping their conversation to join the other. "Yeah, I'm fine now." Hazel nodded, "Have you seen Jackie anywhere?" Ashley spoke up, "He's pretty good at hiding - so no, we haven't seen him so far."

"Anyway, I want to avoid Lee. And I don't think leaving you by yourself is a good idea, so either we go back to the craft room or go somewhere else." Alexander looked determined to at least get away from Lee and keep the other somewhat near him.

Otherwise, he figured he'd probably fight with Lee or someone else. He was known as Alexander 'Fight Me' Hamilton at his school, and to be honest he lived up to the nickname. He was trying to be better behaved here, though, so he figured fighting wouldn't be a good idea.

Alexander paused for a moment - looking at Lee and his group - before he followed John back to the craft room. Honestly, why would a man hate his own blood over sexuality? That made no sense to him. He was admittedly curious as to what happened to Laurens' mother, but he knew better than to ask.

He had lost family as well, though he was lucky he got out of the foster system so quickly after being brought to America. And so far there hadn't been any horrible storms he couldn't deal with - thank God - but he didn't know how long that'd last. Nothing did for long in Alexander's life after all - especially if it was nice.

Hurricane's don't happen that often here. He reminded himself as he took his place on the bench. And there's better warning systems than on Nevis. The worse that'll happen now is a thunderstorm. Even that made him shudder at the thought. That hurricane was possibly the most terrifying thing he'd ever experience. Maybe that was why he wasn't shocked - scared - about the things people told him.

Rules: I'd appreciate warnings before going inactive. Cussing is allowed, just * out a letter. Be as creative with your character and what happens in RP as you want! Just, no too out of control things, all right? No personality traits, this is a 'meet me' type RP. Um... Oh, fade in/out will be used for now(may be subject to change)! Feel free to start!
