"I know you don't," Hazel replied, watching as Cameron walked away before turning back. "But this wasn't the first time we've had that problem, but it wasn't that bad. How do you guys even know each other anyway?" She didn't seem effected by his reply or the look she'd gotten from Cameron.
"We usually have something to use on someone, how has he escaped that?" Ashley whispered to Alice, getting a small shrug in return. "'M not sure, but we can watch him to get stuff now." Lemonz piped in quietly.
-
Hazel hummed at the response, chewing on the cookie she had. "Then why did he have that attitude?..." Kyla mused quietly, more to herself than anything. Violet gave him a calculating look before turning back to her food to eat.
"So, what do you wanna talk about, Jackie?" Hazel asked, having finished her cookie. Ashley and Lemonz were still whispering back and forth about something, Alice saying something randomly. Kyla was still thinking over her question, glancing at Jackie and Cameron every so often.
-
Hm... Well, we've all had the feeling. Thanks for telling me, though!
-
Hazel looked at him, completely confused, "Everyone needs friends! Though I guess you have some that don't go here, right? Ooh, what're they like? Do they act like you, or more like me, or somewhere in the middle?" She got a shiny look in the corner of her eye as she thought. The rest of the group rolled their eyes, used to these behaviour by now.

Alice "Murmur" Grey, twenty two.
___
"M telling ya, Grey. They ain't gonna back off unless we make them." The voice on the phone said, and Alice could hear the smirk. "That might be true, but you will do what I say, when I say." Alice responded, focusing entirely on the conversation.
"Don't hold off for too long, boss." "I won't, but I'm better at making these decisions than you are." She hung up after that, not wanting to listen to whatever else he had to say. She had barely took another step before running into someone. Caught off guard, Alice took a step back with slight unbalance.
The other looked a little worse for wear, but right now the girl didn't care - she could act though and that would look better for now. "Oh, I'm sorry!" She chirped, nearly wincing at the tone and who it reminded her of, "Are you okay?" She held out a hand to help the other up, smiling apologetically.
-
Violet knew that reply bothered her sibling more than she let on, and her observant nature picked up on something in his voice, but she didn't know what. Kyla was the one to notice the small marks on his arm as he walked away. Hazel had a hurt look, all her happiness seeming to vanish as she let out a shaky, "Ah, I see."
Ashley immediately looked to the three, Alice staring after Jackie in confusion as she hadn't been paying attention much. "Oh-kay." Lemonz said, "Should we go after him or? We do have our thing to set up after all."
-
"He can take care of himself." Hazel muttered, resting her forehead on her palm. None of them seemed as cheerful as they normally were without Hazel's enthusiasm. "I'm sure he didn't mean it as harsh as it sounded, sis. He just got a little frustrated." Violet comforted as best she could - she never had been very good at it.
"Yeah, you're probably right." The brunette replied, "Do we have to do it today, or can it wait? I'm not feeling up to it anymore." Alice smiled in an act of comfort, "It's not that time demanding. We can do it whenever we want, you know this."
-
Alice could tell that the girl was an innocent without her saying anything. The way she looked was one clue, and the fact she had fallen instead of just getting knocked back a few steps. The clothing was the second clue, no gang colors and just way to bright for anyone unless they were spying for someone out of town.
She was brought out of her observing state by the girl speaking. "It's okay, everyone has their moments. Especially when in a new place!" Grey slide her hand back into its place by her side, letting her other hand find its way into her pocket. "I grew up here, so I probably don't see it the same way you do."

Hazel took a deep breath, focusing on happier things that were happening - like the girl in the corner who is friends with her crush, and the boy in the center of the room laughing with friends he had made a few weeks ago. She didn't notice Jackie come back in.
Really, the only one who did was Ashley. She didn't care what he was doing back, so long as it didn't leave another effect on the overly-friendly brunette. She motioned towards him, alerting Kyla of his presence. The other girl didn't do anything either, but watched his actions carefully.
-
"But you need friends, at the most." Hazel replied at a surprisingly normal volume, which was pretty quiet for her. Alice smiled lightly at him, to show that none of them truly blamed him - she wasn't sure if he saw or not, though. Hazel would be back to normal soon enough if they gave her an hour or so.
Ashley resisted the childish urge to stick her tongue out at Cameron as he glared, instead keeping a neutral - if not slightly challenging - look back.
-
Hazel - or anyone else for the matter - didn't have time to reply before he left, and that made Hazel feel bad. "Does he feel like he's a burden? Why?..." She muttered to herself, flinching as the bell rang for the next class.
Luckily, they had this class together - history of something - so they talked about different things. Mainly to keep Hazel's mind off of Jackie. "We had a sub in English today," Ashley said, "I liked him better than Miss. Shirley." "Really?" The brunette replied, "I have him next, then. What's his name?" "Mr. Gimmerson, I think."
-
"Yep, that's me." Hazel grinned, not looking up as she grabbed her stuff. The voice sounded familiar, but she couldn't pin who it belonged to. Offhandedly, she said a soft "I wish Ja..." before remembering she wasn't with her friends.
-
Hazel seemed to have realized who it was talking, but kept her normal attitude intact until he finished. Even then, she had to pause for a moment to let his words sink in. "That... That was really deep." She replied softly, the corners of her mouth quirking upwards slightly before settling. "I promise not to force anything on him, okay? But I'm still gonna talk to him, if it works with you."
-
(It's fine, I wasn't on much either!)
"No promises," I replied jokingly. I paused for a moment, thinking if anything else needed to be said. "Anyway, I should probably go - before anyone notices I'm gone..."
-
Hazel made a mental note of what Cameron was saying so she knew what to look for when talking to Jackie. "You really care about him, don't you?" She hummed. She shuffled a bit, trying to balance her binder and books in her arms.
-
Alexander really didn't know what had started the argument - promise! He was minding his own business - kind of - when Thomas said something that annoyed him and, obviously, he retorted with a phrase that made Thomas mad, ending in what was happening currently.
Granted, he didn't think Thomas knew either. Honestly, it seemed they argued just for the sake of arguing - not that Alex minded it, he needed something to do after all. And from what he knew - and he knew a lot - Thomas enjoyed the banter too.
That didn't stop it from getting heated, however, so it was probably a good thing that Lafayette interrupted when he did. Both of them were red from lack of air because of their arguing, so neither spoke at first, trying to recover their breath.
-
Hazel didn't really think about how Cameron kept saying 'she' and 'her', she slipped up on pronouns a lot herself so she waved it off as that. "Yeah, he's definitely strong willed!" She agreed, taking a few steps forwards.
(Sure, you wanna pick up after words?) -
Alexander let Lafayette basically drag him as they went, humming lightly in agreement at the aspect of food. Truthfully, he hadn't slept well - or maybe not at all - during the night, and, although he could stay up for days at a time, he was kind of worn out.
It didn't help that he'd been thinking about John - or more specifically, his father. God, he despised that man - and while he may have been harsh to judge John like he did, John hadn't done anything to prove Alex wrong.
