Because of the battle thread, Shining is going to leave. he knows very well that staying would mean Kate trying to kill him. He'll go to stay in Blizzardclan (if a certain something else doesn't happen first). But it'll be temporary either way. Once everything has calmed down, then someone could go fetch him and he can return.
