Boldheart, surprised, paused with his paws braced against a small heap of dirt. A moment later he recovered and continued digging. "Of course I would. Squirrelspirit and the kits would be safe with me." Part of him was surprised Snakefang would even ask him such a thing. After all, he hadn't done such a great job in protecting his own sister. In his heart he knew Snakefang wouldn't ever have thought anything like that. The problem was Boldheart thought it. He knew he'd failed Bluepelt... well, he wasn't going to fail his friends.
Chestnutkit uttered a protesting mew as Squirrelspirit licked him, but was wedged contentedly in between both siblings and stayed where he was.

I was thinking of making the mother to my Riverclan family and was just wondering what colours she was likely to be. I've probably gone and made it impossible, and I know I'm doing this in reverse, sorry :P
Her three kits are:
1. Male, red tabby with white (Boldheart) Eye colour not specified yet
2. Female, cream tabby with green eyes (Slashstrike)
3. Female, Bluepelt. Since she died as her two siblings entered these boards, I didn't really specific her exact colour but I figured her as a blue tabby or a solid grey. Either would be fine.
Have I done something genetically impossible by having these three kits the colours they are? :P Or would that be viable?

Cougar flicked his tail in farewell to Stark and Graffiti."Hope to see you again sometime!" He called after them. He turned back to Lilac, trying to catch her eye. "We'd need to go further into the forest, right? The prey isn't going to be around us since we've been standing here talking." He wasn't lacking in common sense, at least.
((Groovy's girl is about hijack Cougar, Rainy :P She's decided she must have him. *grins* Must a terrible fate to be as handsome as my Cougar!))

And I think I was... four Lillykits in Thunderclan, I think it was.
Cloverbreath, that is an excellent point! Would a name still have to be changed in that instance?

I know there was a battle in Windclan territory and Dreeamstar and a few of her warriors were captured by Bloodclan. Is there an offical plot for what's going to happen? As far as I can see the battle in Windclan territory is still going, minus those who have been taken to Bloodclan already. Is Windclan going to attack to get them back, at all? Will Thunderclan back them up? Has word been sent back to Windclan/Thunderclan?

"A marker." Agreed Boldheart. It was important to remember their lost kin. He visited Bluepelt, who had been buried further downriver, every few days, talking to her grave and telling her the latest clan news.
"I wonder if Squirrelspirit will tell the other kits about Forestkit." He wondered. "Do you know how many she had?"
Chestnutkit settled down again, using his sister's side as a pillow.
((OOC| Rping kits at this age is so limited :P))

I figured I'd've done something like that. Since the father is meant to have been unknown it could easily have been more than one, though.
So you'd go calico or tortie for the mother?
-
"Lead on." Agreed Cougar, following the pretty she-cat. Stalking was something the young maine coon was rather sloppy at - largely because he'd never been taught. A twig cracked noisily under his weight as he trod upon it. In stepping sideways in surprise, he kicked a loose pebble which clattered noisily off a nearby rock. Graceful the former kittypet was not.
((OOC| KK, no problems)

*nod* Yep, bout what I thought. I take it there is going to be some sort of rescue attempt though, since Dreamstar isn't going to find leading the clan from inside Bloodclan all that easy :P
-
Sounds doable to me. Thanks very much Wynn!

*Grins* Even if you do say so yourself...
It is an awesome idea, actually. It gives Windclan a chance to really sharpern their claws after two seasons of living off another's clan hospitality. They can return to their lands after (presumably) winning their leader and the scouts back, and feel as if they've earned it.
-
"I might, if you won't think she'll mind. Just quickly, she must be exhausted." He went for a quick paddle in the river to wash away the dirt from his white paws. Shaking off the water, he returned to stand beside his friend and lowered his head to gently nudge Snakefang's shoulder. "We should go hunting, afterwards. It's not good to sit around, dwell on things. Trust me."
((OOC| I'm all set to get Slashstrike's bit underway, that's why Boldheart suggested the hunt. Unless you wanted to have it happen a few days later, after the kitting?))

The golden tom plastered a sheepish grin on his face. "Sorry." He whispered back, forgetting to watch where he was going and nearly doing a nosedive as he stumbled over a small paw-sized rock. Recovering, he straightened up and paid more attention to where he was placing his paws. "I really need to practice a bit more..." He continued, ignorant as before to the she-cats true feelings about him.

Mmm, since Bluepelt is only appearing in a flashback roleplay I'm undertaking at the moment with Raven, it's not overly important what her colour is EXACTLY. Maybe I should state for the offical record she was a blue tortie (or it would be torbie, if she's striped, yeah?) She was just meant to look very plain beside her sister Slashstrike, who's a lot more attractive :P And, obviously by her name, be largely a blue shade!

Was something lie kthat what you had in mind by blue tortie?
Now the red silver... is that to do wit hthe colour of the undercoat, or the colour of the stripes?

I'm all for word getting back and a strong Windclan/Thunderclan patrol ambushed them, strikes hard, and rescues them! *grins* I'm just subtle like that, though.

Unfortunately, Cougar's hunting would have been described, generously, as fair at best. The reasoned he had weather so well during the winter was that he'd spent moist of it since his escape in twolegplace, supplementing the occasional rat or sparrow he caught with garbage-bin raiding. He was, however, very eager to learn.
"So, where do we start?" He looked around eagerly, his tufted ears standing straight up on his head. He could hear something rustling over to their right, some small body amidst the pine needles. He had extremely sharp hearing, at least.
-
He realized he had to stop assuming these cats could guess everything about him at a glance. Keeping on ear trained on the rustling off to the side, he explained. "Well... a little. Honestly, I was born a kittypet. After I escaped I wandered around Twolegplace. I can hunt a little, but no one ever taught me how. And I'm not used to forest prey - this is the first time I've ever really been out of Twolegplace."
Wow. Way to go dumping too much information on the poor girl, he chided himself.
-
"You know I never laugh." Boldheart managed to keep a straight face. For all of ten seconds, after which a laugh escaped. "Unless it's really funny." He teased. "Like the time you walked into the spider's web!" He bounded just ahead of his blind companion. He rarely offered to lead or help his friend, but he would often move ahead and choose the easiest path, leaving it up to Snakefang to follow him or not.
((OOC| I messaged Piney to see if she still wants in with Daybreak. Either way, I think it'll be startable by tomorrow, at the latest! *rubs palms*))

Yeah, I figured that, but I'm very, very interested in coat colours and patterns. On all animals. I know a little about horses, some about birds and dogs, but have never really even looked into the full range of feline coat colours until now. I'm loving it.
*Grins* Yeah, authenticy does run out the window to some extent when you're talking about a thousand-ish cats living out in the wild in various clans, resorting to murder, cannibalism, and goodness knows what else :P But in a way that's what makes the little details so important. Realistic elements within a fantasy world are what keep it believable!
