"Of course! Join in! We can always vote. Mossball is fun!" The older kitten smiled warmly. He was nearly going to be an apprentice. Well, he had time but soon! He wanted to be strong and frankly, not sick!

'Carried of by a hawk' was the wire set. The own deputy who replaced his mother. His sister freshly dead in his mind by that very same statement. Hawk. Tears pricked Conekit's eyes as he suddenly moved away from the group. "I-I can wait. I'm going to the nursery."

Suddenly, Conekit wasn't feeling well at all. His belly churned. The kits had warriors to protect them. But no one was there for his sister. He wanted to find his nest and sleep forever.

"Sweetpaw!" Conekit cheered. He hadn't seen Sweetpaw since he'd still been Sweetkit! The little kitten fumbled but came beside the young apprentice.

"You need anything?" He asked, realizing now that Sweetpaw was looking worse for wear.

WHAT CEREMONY DO YOU NEED: apprentice

WILL THERE BE A NAME CHANGE? IF SO PLEASE LIST: Conepaw

    ANY OTHER INFORMATION: nothing

WHAT YOU'RE IN NEED OF mentor

ANY CHARACTER SPECIFICALLY IN MIND?: nah

YOUR CHARACTERS NAME: Conekit soon to be Conepaw.

Conekit was happy to come nearer! He wandered on over with wide attentive eyes. Mousefreckle! That was the cutest name! Like when Pennyroyalkit told him about the name Bluebells! It seemed so wonderous. What would his warrior name be when he was big? If he knew the pain lingering in the molly's mind he would have tried to sympathize. She lost her own children. He lost his family. Mousefreckle felt warm to him in a strange comforting way.

"I love your name! Will I get a cute name when I'm a warrior?" He wanted a cute name. No Conetalon or Conebite or whatever. He liked cute.

Conekit beamed with pride. Yes! He was the absolute pun king and joking master. He loved it so much. Now he was forming a reputation for it.

"Nothing much but turtling along. Guess I shouldn't shell up on you now, but turtle jokes are the amphi-bane of my existance!" He laughed. Alright he'd admit that one was reaching. The kit tottered to stand on his front paws alone before falling foreward, nose in the dirt.

He sneezed before giggling and sitting up again. "Guess we're clumsy clanmate comrades in calamity, aren't we?"

Oh Starclan, he was doing alliteration now.

"Come on Cedarkit, he's only just waking up like you." The frail kitten mewed calmly. His sleepy eyed held a fondness for the nursery. He lost most of his family. It was all he had.

"I can walk with you outside, Ironkit. If you get tired you can nap on me." He offered. His pelt was rathet thick and fluffy. In blaring winds, he puffed up like a dandelion.

"Branchkit is up there with Mistyeyes. Can't you see them?" Conekit asked puzzled. He pointed a paw into the sky and smiled.

"Her muzzle isn't gray. I can see her bright eyes. I can see her shoulders. Branchkit is with her trying to cause a little trouble. But that's okay. Mistyeyes won't tell on her." Conekit spoke with a voice empty but so clear. His face was smiling, but in his heart a root had grown. He inhaled deep and closed his eyes. He spoke as if Starclan was his nextdoor neighbor. He then turned to Rockleap, eyes dark under the sky.

"How are you, Rockleap?" He asked softly.

Conekit shrugged with a well meaning expression of 'fair enough!'. He ignored Cedarkit's remark amd nodded towards Ironkit with a warm smile.

"Tell us, Ironkit! I'll help you out if I can." He laughed and let Ternpaw lay on him. A snort that was certainly fake made his ribs shake. He giggled at that and licked Ternpaw's ear playfully.

"That tickles!" He said but looked thrilled as ever.

Conekit shifted his chin back and forth in idle thought. What names did sweet cats get? He tried to think of sweet cats. Oh! Shybloom was sweet!

"Conebloom? Like Shybloom! Or Coneheart? Coneflower? Those sound fun." He watched Mousefreckle wince and he gently stepped closer.

"You okay? Did something hurt?" He asked in that sweet voice only a child could do. In his worry, he didn't notice Ironkit! If he did he would have invited him over to say hello!

"Hard to sleep I guess. I don't sleep like I should anymore but that's okay. I just don't want anyone to get hurt." Conekit decided he loved Rockleap's voice. He wanted to hear it more. The little tom puffed himself out against the cold best he could.

"Is anyone you know in Starclan?" Conekit asked the warrior kindly.

Cinderflame was a good cat. An absolute sweetheart. He didn't deserve all this. Conekit rushed from the nursery, eyes lighyly wetting. He nuzzled into the tom's side and tried to sooth him best a child could.

"It's me, Cinderflame. Conekit...you'll be okay. Don't worry." He whispered softly.

The warrior went down right beside little Conekit, but it comforted him. Even if he never met Rockleap before. His eyes went back up to the sky, his heart felt heavy. "Momma was the deputy before Driftingheart. All my siblings and dad disappeared. My sister Branchkit was taken by a bird. So...I have to be without a family. That's okay though. Because one day it won't matter. I have cats in my clan! That's good enough right?"

Conekit was odd, but the sudden shock of having your childhood snatched away with nobody looking over you was the cause. He always tried to be happy. But he wasn't always that.

Conekit shivered, his leader's booming voice echoinh through camp. His little paws stepped forward. He was still small, but Conekit had recovered from his sickness. What did it mean though? His family wasn't even hear to see him. Still he saw faces he knew and smiled. He looked up at his leader, young eyes sparkling. He was ready.

Conekit was easily distractable. His sunflower eyes cast sideways at Ironkit and he broke into a grin. He flicked his tail towards the younger kit.

"Hi Ironkit! Want to come over?" Conekit questioned before patting the dirt next to him with his tail.

Conepaw beamed with pride. He matched the heated gaze with a sunflower sort of charm. He bowed his head to his leader and mentor before backing away. The leader was his mentor! How ironic? The sickly kitten born near death was now the leader's apprentice. Conepaw! He wad Conepaw now!

"Mousefreckle!" Came Conepaw's worried yowl as he stumbled past cats to get to her. His body pressed to her gently and he blinked back worried tears. If only he'd known!

"Can I do anything Dawnpaw?" He asked, chin quivering in worried fear. Mousefreckle had been so kind to him. He didn't want her to die!
