[fancypost bgcolor=transparent; bordercolor=transparent; font-size: 8pt; width: 300px; text-align: justify;]Joseph lifted his broken head and looked around, hoping to strike up a conversation. A lot of people were here already talking, so why couldn't he? It was only polite for the kinda-sorta-host to be nice.

Finally, the mutilated bullmastiff spotted Beatrice. A small white feline with a blanket wrapped around her shoulders. It was chilly in here.

Jo padded up to her hurriedly, eager for speech. He weaved through the crowd clumsily, nervously mumbling "I'm sorry"s and "Excuse me"s and "Oops"s.

He sat down a foot or so away from her, and barked softly, "Hi. I'm Joseph." Jo swallowed and bit his tongue. Smooth. "Have you seen this before?" he smiled quietly, motioning to the screen.

[fancypost bgcolor=transparent; bordercolor=transparent; font-size: 8pt; width: 300px; text-align: justify;]Joseph had never expected a promotion. He was so honored, he felt a little breathless, believe it or not.

"Wow," he mumbled. Jo's confused grimace flipped into an odd, lopsided smile. Smashing. "Thank you, Zeke. Congrats Kia, Halfpaw, Pearl."

[fancypost bgcolor=transparent; bordercolor=transparent; font-size: 8pt; width: 300px; text-align: justify;]A scavenger hunt? Those were always interesting. He did one with his Master once, and he found a dead bird.

    ...He ate it.

Joseph padded over to the group, Kia's scarf still taut on his legs. "You'll need to ask our leader, Zeke, that."

[fancypost bgcolor=transparent; bordercolor=transparent; font-size: 8pt; width: 300px; text-align: justify;]A sweetheart dance was going to happen, and SolarClan needed to be prepared. He had taken the whole west wing of the library and transformed it into a nightclub-ballroom sort of thing.

A black lace carpet marked the way to the wing, with lipstick red rose petals scattered across it. The beginning of the carpet had a large, beautiful statue flanking it. Joseph had found it while digging through the closets of the building.

When one found the west wing, they would walk in and see dark, white, milk, and lactose-free chocolate fountains. On top of all of them was a generous ensemble of kiwi, oranges, strawberries, and pineapples on toothpicks.

Parallel to the previous was a romantic, cheesy dance floor littered with roses and pink glitter. The room was darkened, and stage lights were on their dim setting to further enhance the lovey part of the dance.

In the middle of the floor was another circular check-out desk, acting as a bar station. The little ones could get Shirley Temples or Sprite, if they chose.

The rest was all tables and pillows. Cinnamon-scented candles lit up the room and sat atop tables and around the dance floor.

Did I mention it was a masquerade contest? The winner would get a free candle and/or book.

Joseph had cleaned the blood out of his fur and took a bath. It was hard, but he managed. He was also wearing a mask, to his convenience.

All they needed now were people and kisses.

[fancypost bgcolor=transparent; bordercolor=transparent; font-size: 8pt; width: 300px; text-align: justify;]He hadn't yet met everyone in the Clan, so he decided to hold a meet-and-greet. "Meet and greet with Jo!" Joseph called out somewhat quietly. Jo sat in the main check-out desk, an astronomy book under his paw. He thought he should expand his horizons.

[fancypost bgcolor=transparent; bordercolor=transparent; font-size: 8pt; width: 300px; text-align: justify;]Somehow, the mutilated bullmastiff managed to pick his way through the forest. Then, he came upon a towering fortress, hence, Fortress of Lakara.

    Joseph almost peed.

Instead, the frightened dog sat and looked around wearily, waiting for someone to come around so he could leave. This place gave Jo the creeps.

[fancypost bgcolor=transparent; bordercolor=transparent; font-size: 8pt; width: 300px; text-align: justify;]This place was much less intimidating than the Fortress of Lakara. Joseph had found himself in beautiful, crystal-walled tunnels, and it was stunning.

He could enjoy the beauty while he waited for someone. So Jo sat, and prepared his speech.

[fancypost bgcolor=transparent; bordercolor=transparent; font-size: 8pt; width: 300px; text-align: justify;]This place was pretty cool, but Joseph had had a bit of trouble getting to the gate. Wild animals kept falling over his big feet.

He sat at the entrance to the zoo while he waited for someone.

[fancypost bgcolor=transparent; bordercolor=transparent; font-size: 8pt; width: 300px; text-align: justify;]Joseph sat at the border, waiting to be noticed. He had an invite for a sweetheart dance/masquerade contest, and he would hit all the allies.

[fancypost bgcolor=transparent; bordercolor=transparent; font-size: 8pt; width: 300px; text-align: justify;]The Aristocracy's territory was very similar to SolarClan's. A great, big library surrounded by woodland, with trails leading to places.

Enough of that, Joseph decided. The board member sat at the border and waited to be noticed.

    [fancypost bgcolor=transparent; bordercolor=transparent; font-size: 8pt; width: 300px; text-align: justify;]Wow. This was the absolute height of beauty.

Joseph padded through the lush forest, a huge grin on his lopsided jaw. He could walk all day, but he didn't. Jo sat down and inspected a flower while waiting.

[fancypost bgcolor=transparent; bordercolor=transparent; font-size: 8pt; width: 300px; text-align: justify;]Snow and mountains, huh? That was impressive. It was pretty cold and mastiffs aren't particularly known for insulating fur.

Joseph sat on an un-snowed rock and shivered, waiting desperately to be noticed.

[fancypost bgcolor=transparent; bordercolor=transparent; font-size: 8pt; width: 300px; text-align: justify;]He would much rather go on the big, intimidating staircase up onto FLOATING ISLANDS instead of walking around in the COLD and SNOW OF THE MOUNTAINS.

I mean, FLOATING ISLANDS! Holy crap!

Joseph scowled at the narrator and then scowled at himself for breaking the fourth wall. He started up the steps and waited at the top to be noticed.

    [fancypost bgcolor=transparent; bordercolor=transparent; font-size: 8pt; width: 300px; text-align: justify;]Are rocks some sort of trend?

Joseph wrinkled his nose as the pebbles dug into his good feet. He quickly hobbled over to some mossy ground and waited to be noticed, preparing his speech as he sat.

[fancypost bgcolor=transparent; bordercolor=transparent; font-size: 8pt; width: 300px; text-align: justify;]What a lovely castle thought Joseph as he padded up. He sat at the door and waited to be noticed, preparing his speech all the while.

[fancypost bgcolor=transparent; bordercolor=transparent; font-size: 8pt; width: 300px; text-align: justify;]This place gave him the creeps. Blood seemed to spill out of every crack in the wall. Ugh. Joseph carefully sidestepped it all and sat in the doorway of the entry hall, preparing his words.

[fancypost bgcolor=transparent; bordercolor=transparent; font-size: 8pt; width: 300px; text-align: justify;]Joseph's tongue flopped out as he barked, "Hello! I'm Jo, board member of SolarClan." He cleared his throat and adjusted the scarf on his leg. "You're being invited to a Sweetheart Dance and a masquerade contest. Bring your girl."

After those words, he blushed and murmured, "I've yet to ask mine."

[fancypost bgcolor=transparent; bordercolor=transparent; font-size: 8pt; width: 300px; text-align: justify;]He smiled. "A masquerade is a mask sort of thing that covers the vicinity around your eyes." Joseph liked Beetlepaw. Sweeti needed a name for her character so she could put him/her in CloverClan
