[fancypost borderwidth=0pt; font-family: arial; text-align: justify; width: 400px;]Though Aria slammed the door, Sutton managed to catch it with her one front paw which she used to block the doorway. It hurt a bit, but nothing worse than the pain you'd get from stubbing a toe. "Five minutes," Sutton repeated, slowly enunciating each word as if to spell it out for the child. "Or I will come in there and pick you up by the scruff, kicking and screaming." She said. It was easy to see that there was a substantial size difference between the tiger and the wolf pup, and she intended to use that to her advantage if Aria continued like this.

[fancypost borderwidth=0pt; font-family: arial; text-align: justify; width: 400px;]Normally, Sutton was irritated by Aria and their conflicting personalities, but seeing her playing all alone struck something else within her. Was it pity or just sad to see her having to play all by herself? No child deserved that- not even Aria. However, it wasn't like Sutton could just walk over and offer to play. The wolf didn't like her as it was, and for some reason the tigress had a feeling she'd only be offended or upset in some way if she approached.

[fancypost borderwidth=0pt; font-family: arial; text-align: justify; width: 400px;]She was getting better. But there was always one final punch- the tsunami after an earthquake. This would be her tsunami. Sutton had fallen asleep, making her vulnerable and more susceptible to the parasite. A trance-like state fell over her, and Sutton exited her hut in a daze. It was like a sleepwalk, the way she walked slowly, lumbering and with a blank stare. She saw and heard nothing, moving like she was possessed. It was a blackout.

[fancypost borderwidth=0pt; font-family: arial; text-align: justify; width: 400px;]Sutton hissed and drew back, her paw slipping from its place. However, that had possibly only worsened Aria's situation, as now the tigress was more angry than she'd already been. "Did you just bite me?" She snapped, shoving her shoulder against the door as if pounding on it angrily. "I thought even you might be above resorting to that, but don't you love proving me wrong." Sutton said bitterly, teeth bared. Pricks of blood began to show from the bite marks on her paw, but she ignored it, instead focusing on the wolf. If Sutton was determined moments ago, it had only amplified now.

[fancypost borderwidth=0pt; font-family: arial; text-align: justify; width: 400px;]Sutton listened until Peter was finished, quiet while Motochika spoke and trying to think of some ideas herself. There was a lot going on with RadicalClan, one thing after another, and usually business was a good attractor. "Maybe we need to try and bring a light to everything. Dealing with the parasite and now the humans, too, maybe that's driving away joiners because they're nervous about the state of the group." She offered, shifting. "Maybe another party or feast or festival or something with our allies could help loosen up the feel of the place and make it more welcoming. We could use that kind of balance." Sutton suggested, knowing all too well about the importance of balance in a clan. You could never have too much of one thing without something to counter it, and she wondered if the various crises and less lighter activity were possibly misleading potential joiners.
//ooc ideas bc some things are odd to word ic:
- we could try to encourage advertising in signatures. I'd gladly put a little banner or just clickable text or something in my signature c:
- regular interaction with other clans, even if it's something small like gift baskets- it still attracts attention.
- a mass adoption. these tend to be hit or miss, but sometimes characters from mass adoptions stick around and it's always worth a shot.I can help with anything! I'll try to get more open threads, and if you need help or want me to organize the mass adoption/weekly tasks/etc. I'll gladly do so c: I'll also try to work on more open threads.

[fancypost borderwidth=0pt; font-family: arial; text-align: justify; width: 400px;]Sutton was in a tree, laying on a thick low branch. She'd cheated a bit- flying up in a small bird body and then returning to her normal state, but you could hardly blame her. With three legs, climbing was a lot harder. In the tree, it was clear Sutton was tired and bored. She'd done her typical duties of the day, hunting and hanging around camp and the like, and was now in the middle of a rare moment of nothing.
Nowhere to be, nothing to do. It was peaceful. She had found a sponge and had it under her paw, lightly pressing it against the branch so that water collected would trickle out and fall to the ground. She watched as a small puddle of water collected, creating a bit of mud at the base of the tree. Hopefully nobody would come by and slip on it.

[fancypost borderwidth=0pt; font-family: arial; text-align: justify; width: 400px;]There was no spark of recognition or friendly gleam in Sutton's dull stare when Crow approached. She simply looked into the distance at nothing in particular, not seeming to notice the small ebony feline. However, when Crow spoke, the tigress glanced down at her, still with the blank expression. And then she snarled, baring her teeth and running her tongue over her teeth.
Sutton sat and raised a heavy paw, aiming to slam it into Crow's side. However, it was clear this was no game and her claws were unsheathed. It was a slow, clumsy attack but could still create a considerable gash in her side if she didn't dodge.

[fancypost borderwidth=0pt; font-family: arial; text-align: justify; width: 400px;]Aria was right- Sutton had abandoned the promise of five minutes, and instead was focusing on getting the door open. She pushed into it, to no avail, and then shrugged. "This is a nice hut." Sutton called. "I wouldn't want to have to break down this door!"

[fancypost borderwidth=0pt; font-family: arial; text-align: justify; width: 400px;]Sutton was a bit late. She'd been in an unassuming songbird form, mostly to watch the humans, when she heard Aria's familiar, loud voice. If she was any louder, the Amazonian was sure she'd draw attention! Of course, humans weren't nearly as keen with their senses and who was to say for sure they'd hear the wolf? They hadn't noticed much else.
Seeing the new member, she shifted back into her normal body, landing on the ground a bit awkwardly as her change happened before she'd completely landed. Sutton offered him a half-smile. "Aria seems to have told you much already," She said, for once not being too upset with how Aria greeted the newcomer. She was still with her typical attitude, but at the very least had been informative instead of just rude. "But if you ever need help later on or have any questions, I'm glad to help. My name is Sutton."

[fancypost borderwidth=0pt; font-family: arial; text-align: justify; width: 400px;]Sutton was not looking forward to hiding out in a cave or anything of the like, but she understood why it was a necessary move. They couldn't take on the technology of the humans, and so until they figured out a solution this seemed to be the only way. She looked around and a frown found it's way to her distasteful expression, but when her gaze settled on Peter she offered him a smile. "We'll figure this out." She said, half to herself. "If we need supplies or anything back from camp, I can shapeshift and return."
-
[fancypost borderwidth=0pt; font-family: arial; text-align: justify; width: 400px;]Okay, so if anybody was going to slip, Sutton admittedly did not mind it being Crow. Even after the time that had passed, the amusement Sutton got from watching her struggle with little things had not faded. "Some things never change, huh?" She said, calling from her perch with a devilish grin cast down toward Crow. The black feline was laughing, and it was contagious. "Good thing you were the one walking by- I can imagine Aria throwing a fit in your position."
-
[fancypost borderwidth=0pt; font-family: arial; text-align: justify; width: 400px;]Great. Aria was hanging out with the humans, now. With all the trouble she'd been causing lately, Sutton was hardly surprised. She had been watching from afar with dense coverage, and now decided to shift into a form she'd been getting more and more comfortable with lately- a small bird. Once changed, she flew up and landed on the machine behind the humans, facing Aria but so that the people wouldn't see her, or pay much attention.
"What are you doing?" Sutton snapped to the wolf, her tone heavy with irritation. "I can understand some of your antics, but this?" She flapped her tiny wings in exasperation. At least to the humans, she'd sound only like a bird tittering. However, Sutton was filled with emotion. Of course she was annoyed with Aria, but there was worry gnawing at her mind, too. If these people followed Aria, they'd certainly be lead to the rest of them where they'd relocated.

[fancypost borderwidth=0pt; font-family: arial; text-align: justify; width: 400px;]The words meant nothing to Sutton, it was as if they'd simply not been spoken. She began to make a move for another attack- surely one that could be a potential final blow considering their size difference and Crow's unwillingness to fight back. However, crouched and ready to lunge she suddenly grew dizzy. It was like waking up, but only for a tiny moment. She came to her senses for a fraction of a second and saw Crow, bleeding and confused. Sutton let out a horrified cry. What had she done?
The tigress' shock didn't last long- she was feeling faint again, her vision spotty, and everything felt heavy. She stumbled backward and crumpled to the ground, covering one ear with her paw as if trying to block out some unknown noise. Sutton dug her claws into the dirt and shut her eyes, finally gaining some clarity when she opened them again. "I..." She looked at Crow in a horrified daze. "I did that to you." She started forward on wobbly legs, but stopped short and drew back, afraid to reach out to comfort her. "What have I done? Crow, I'm sorry. I'm so sorry." The words fell from her mouth in a panic as she wondered where Nevaeh could've possibly been these past days. And now, now when she really needed the healer.
-
[fancypost borderwidth=0pt; font-family: arial; text-align: justify; width: 400px;]Sutton usually prided herself on a lot of things, knowledge included. But as far as humans went, they were a mystery to the tiger. She'd lived in ancient jungle ruins and then a desert before RadicalClan, neither being places very rich with human activity. This was really the closest she'd been to them before. "I know no nothing more about humans than what I've seen of them here recently." She admitted, limping over and then sitting down. Hopefully somebody with more experience could say a few things. "I'm keen to learn, though."

[fancypost borderwidth=0pt; font-family: arial; text-align: justify; width: 400px;]Sutton was in an unassuming raccoon form- she'd been trying out different bodies here and there, figuring if she was going to experiment with the power, let it be now that she most needed it. It was in her raccoon form that she found Aria near a lump. A lump.. No, that was Motochika. Or rather, his body. The Amazonian stopped and frowned, sensing something wrong. He wasn't moving, didn't appear to be breathing.
Sutton brushed past Aria, in a rare moment of completely ignoring the wolf. She placed an ear against his chest and listened, hearing nothing. His body wasn't warm with life, there was no pulse. She tensed up. Even if by now Sutton was familiar with death, it still hit her hard. Maybe it was how unexpected it was- he had seemed fine before. She sniffed and backed away, looking at Aria. Unusually, her voice held no bitter or scolding undertone.
"Aria, we need to quickly conceal his body or move it so the humans don't find him." She said. "He's dead."
-
[fancypost borderwidth=0pt; font-family: arial; text-align: justify; width: 400px;]Sutton nodded, listening along before speaking. "If they're afraid of us, they're more likely to shoot. And we're not much of a match for their weapons, but if they feel entitled to this land, it'll be hard to get them to go." As the tiger saw it, an eventual fight was inevitable. It was a question of how, and when, when they were potentially quite outmatched.
"At least there seems to be only a few of them for now. Maybe if we could just figure out what they want here, we could somehow sabotage it so that they'll want to leave on their own."
-
[fancypost borderwidth=0pt; font-family: arial; text-align: justify; width: 400px;]Sutton looked at the two and her expression deepened. She moved to the side a step and brushed against Aria instinctively, even if they were far from close, or even far from friends. "Shh. The humans could be close, and we need to not draw attention." She felt horrible saying that, but Motochika was dead and they needed to now protect the living. "If we can carry him back to where we're hiding out, we can do a proper burial or something. Are you guys alright?" She asked, looking from Lunae to Aria.
-
[fancypost borderwidth=0pt; font-family: arial; text-align: justify; width: 400px;]Sutton rolled her eyes and jabbed furiously at the doorknob, which jiggled but didn't turn. She laid down against the door and yawned, calling back to Aria. "You can't hide forever, kid. You could learn from a bit of work, you know!" She shouted through the door with an irritated breath. Well, Aria couldn't hide in there forever she figured. Eventually she'd come out and Sutton could make her do whatever work she was planning. Community service, of some sort.
-
[fancypost borderwidth=0pt; font-family: arial; text-align: justify; width: 400px;]Sutton really couldn't jump back from the mud, as then she'd lose her balance and fall, but once Crow had spread it on her she spotted Aria below. She smiled widely at her, knowing that any kind of good mood Sutton might be in would only irritate the wolf. Aria seemed to hate it if Sutton was content.
"Weren't you just complaining the other day that I'm not enough of a kid?" She called down from her perch in the tree, flicking her tail to send a spray of mud down towards Aria. She nudged Crow and nodded to the ground before leaping from the branch into the puddle, hopefully splattering the wolf with mud.
