[fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 380px; line-height:97%; height: auto; font-size: 8.7pt; text-align: justify]Leo didn't expect the pup to butcher their names, causing his pink eyes to flicker in confusion at first. Was she referring to him when she said "Leeno"? However, the confusion soon faded into mischief and the smile that was once there, only fading as a result of puzzlement, soon returned. Well, if she wanted him to be Leeno, then he guessed that he was Leeno instead of Leo. Two could play at that game, after all.

"Hah, alright, Distantwalls. Welcome back to the Rebellion!" Leo said with a grin, a small laugh escaping his mouth, making it obvious that he was just joking. Leo didn't necessarily like boring joinings and he felt like this was making it far from dull. He then glanced at Epiphany, who didn't seem too happy with the butchering of his name. Aw, poor guy. Leo aimed to gently nudge his shoulder as he asked with a grin, "Oi, Epiphery, how ya likin' our new names? I'm cool with Leeno - I mean, something like Leeyes would have been cooler, but I'll live with Leeno. It's kind of a lowkey name, y'know?" With that, he burst into laughter. Aw man, he was too funny sometimes. He cracked himself up.

Once he was done pathetically laughing at his own joke, he turned his attention back to Distantwa - calls. "So you've lived here before? Guess ya don't want a tour, huh? Ya know this territory like the back of your paw or no?" Leo guessed, although it was just an assumption. If she did end up wanting a tour for whatever reason, Leo wouldn't exactly object, but he would be a little disappointed since he had plans for later today. Not very good plans but plans nonetheless.

    [fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 380px; line-height:97%; height: auto; font-size: 8.7pt; text-align: justify]/ tw: drug use and depressive themes.
summary: as a result of taking drugs through the nose, leo managed to burn everything important in his nose and therefore cause his nose to stop functioning. he lost his sense of smell as a result. this is so shitty now that i read it fml
    ▪ he ends up getting high, getting lost once out of the territory, passing out in a field of purple flowers, going through a mental breakdown as he realizes that he's lost his sense of smell, and making it back to the rebellion.
    ▪ you can jump in if you want! even though it's a oneshot, i'll be happy to have people respond because this is a crucial moment in leo's life. if you want a time reference, leo's been gone for two days. he's probably going to end up hugging everyone because he's extremely home and family-oriented lmao
    ▪ ic opinions when leo mentions your character!

    "You're not getting them back."

Leo wasn't sure why he felt so elevated yet his thoughts were so...depressing. He wasn't one to go through such thoughts, as he was often considered to be an optimistic person. Were these thoughts messing with his mind more than he believed they were? No, they couldn't be, he had only been using them for a couple of days. It couldn't be possible for them to take root inside of him through a mere span of a couple of days. He decided to attempt to push the thought away, focus on what was at hand - however, in all honesty, he could barely even tell where he was let alone what he was doing. Everything seemed dreamlike, almost as if the world he lived in was completely unreal.

"You should listen to me. What would everyone else think? You're an addict."

"Already know what they think." Leo murmured in response, aiming to take a sniff of the air in order to find out where exactly he was only to end up wincing in pain. Ouch, he had almost forgotten that his nose was burning painfully lately. Once he recovered, he added in response to his own thoughts, "They dunno what I do it for." Truth be told, Leo doubted that they even knew he was an amnesiac. With how long he had been in the Rebellion, one could even consider him a boy of many memories, yet that statement was far beyond true.

"Alright, fine. What about Helix? What would he think if his boyfriend was high off his ass all the time? He'll dump you as soon as he realizes what you're doing. Nobody likes an addict, Pearlcatcher made that obvious. Remember?"

"Stop usin' Helix agains' 'e." Leo hissed, almost stumbling in the process. "An' isn't Pearlcatcher, like, 100 years ol'? He ain't high n' mighty 'cause he's ol'."

"What about Epiphany? He's young and you looked like you scared him. He was just trying to help."

"He was tryin' to take 'm high away."

"Is that all you care about? You asshole...you would let them all die just so you can get high. It's not even working."

"It's workin'! I jus' need some time." His vision was blurred and Leo decided to stop walking - hell, he felt like he was floating, so he might as well stop to just recollect himself. He took more than usual this time, which was quite obvious by his restlessness, paranoia, and voice hallucinations. "An' I wouldn't let 'em die. Soon as I get my memories back, I'll protect 'em all. 'M useless withou' 'm memories." He attempted to lean up against the trunk of what he believed was a true, yet in all honesty, Leo couldn't really tell at this point. He didn't feel real. Trying to take a deep breath, Leo closed his eyes, although that just made him feel more uncomfortable. He didn't want to be engulfed in total darkness.

"Earth to Leo, Earth to Leo. Where the hell are you?"

"...Dunno. Space?" Man, he really felt like he was floating through the boundaries between space and time. Was it a good feeling? Frankly, Leo didn't know how to describe it. If anything, it felt strange and abnormal.

"That's not good, you twit! Fucking hell, get a hold of yourself."

"Shaddup. You get a hol' of yourself."

"Hey...hey, you smell that? It smells nice, comforting. You know where I'm talking about?"

"Do I look like I fuckin' know?" Leo murmured in an irritated tone of voice, but he still took the time to attempt to get past the searing pain in his nose by sniffing the air. It took him quite a while but eventually, he did identify the scent. The voice was right, it was nice and comforting. Leo was drawn to his paws by instinct, finding himself craving to go to whatever that scent happened to be. "Where is it?" He slurred, pink eyes darting around his current area. Where was it, where was it, where was it?

"Up ahead! Just a couple of paces ahead. C'mon, what are you waiting for, kid?"

"I'm goin', I'm goin'." Leo responded as he began to move forward, following the scent right to where he believed it was.

"Yes! You made it! See, what'd I tell ya? I knew we could do it!"

Leo merely laughed in response, feeling himself begin sinking to the cold ground beneath him.

"...Leo? Leo, you good? What the hell?! Leo!"

With a fading fit of victorious giggles, the blonde feline fell to the ground, surrounded by the beautiful and comforting aroma.

    - - -

Something was brushing against his leg...was it? He couldn't really tell. Was he even awake? Once again, Leo wasn't able to tell.

As his mind plunged into a war, Leo's eyes slowly cracked open, the haziness that once clouded them now gone. His eyes opened and closed for a couple of more times as Leo attempted to grasp consciousness again while sleep tugged him back - it was a brutal tug-o-war match. Thankfully, Leo managed to muster up enough strength in order to pull himself out of his former unconscious state. His eyes began blinking rapidly in confusion, trying to focus on the green and purple blurs that were in front of him. Where was he? He didn't remember anything from before. His eyes soon got back into focus and the former chief enforcer was able to tell that he was lying in a bed - no, a field - of purple flowers, their stems slowly moving whenever a breeze blew by them. Leo glanced up above them, seeing the sky a dark purple, marking that it was getting late in the evening. It wasn't night yet, though, as none of the stars were out and the sky wasn't pitch black. God, where was he?

The blonde feline pushed himself to his paws, a little too quickly, and glanced around the field. So far, it was empty, surrounded by a forest that looked more than threatening in the developing darkness. How did he even get here? He felt like he was miles and miles away from the Rebellion. Panic was the first emotion to settle in. Perhaps there was a clan's scent somewhere around here? Yeah, he should figure that out first. He didn't want to be caught trespassing, after all. Lifting his nose into the air, Leo attempted to sniff the air only to have no scent come to him. Normally, that wouldn't be as concerning, but absolutely no scent came. Not the scent of the wind, not the scent of the flowers, and definitely not the scent of the pine trees that surrounded the field.

"What the hell?" Leo muttered to himself in confusion, placing a paw on his nose. He didn't feel it?! His nose felt incredibly numb, as if it didn't even exist on his face. Not to mention the fact that he couldn't even smell his own scent, which was more than alarming, to say the least. "What...? Leo echoed before grabbing a couple of flowers and pulling them from the ground, pushing them against his nose. Maybe he was just imagining things. Maybe he wasn't close enough to anything in order to properly smell it. However, as he forcefully pushed the flowers up against his nose, he still couldn't get a whiff of them. It was almost as if the flowers didn't have a scent at all.

No...no, these had to be bad flowers. Maybe they weren't real. In a state of panic, Leo ripped more flowers from the ground and pushed them against his nose. Still nothing. The feline's emotions took over and he began to rip more and more flowers from their homes, not even bothering to test-smell some of them. At this point, he was in a state of pure desperation and panic. The flowers stole his sense of smell, they took it from him, he had to get it back, maybe if he ripped up more of them, they would give it back to him. "Give it back, give it back, give it back! You stole it from me!" Leo shouted as he began to roughly pull more innocent flowers out of the ground, watching as they piled beneath him. He didn't care about them, they could stay there forever and rot for all Leo cared. They were thieves, they took what was his, they...

Didn't deserve it. They were just flowers. Leo's rapid movements gradually came to a stop and he glanced down at the pile near his paws. The pile of now dead flowers, the pile of the innocent lives he stole. They were roughly pulled out of their homes and dropped in a pile as if they were nothing. It was brutal. It brought a nauseating feeling to Leo's chest and he felt hot tears begin to brim at his eyes. The feline bent down, gathering the dead flowers in his paws. "I'm sorry. I'm so sorry." He choked out, feeling the tears escape from his eyes and roll down his cheeks. It burned. It hurt to cry; it hurt his chest, his eyes, and his throat. He hated it. He buried his face in them, dismayed at cold and fragile they felt.

"All I wanted to do was get them back." Leo sobbed into the flowers, the flowers that were no longer living, the flowers that he could no longer smell.

It looks like he lost more than he gained.

    - - -

    He felt homesick.

Leo kept his gaze fixed on the ground as he walked; since he wasn't able to smell anymore, it would be useless to use scent as a useful tool to help find his way back into the Rebellion. The voice in his head that had been bothering him earlier was now fully gone, leaving Leo with the silence within his own mind. In a way, that was scarier than what he had been going through before and he found himself missing that mocking little voice. The atmosphere around him was very silent save for the wind blowing through the trees that towered above him. He felt bad leaving the dead, fragile flowers behind, but he wasn't able to carry them all with him. He also wasn't too keen on having a reminder on what he had done. The flowers deserved to say where they were, even if they would eventually be blown away by the wind of eaten by some rodent.

His thoughts were interrupted by his stomach growling loudly. Leo let out a small wince of embarrassment, yet thankfully there didn't seem to be anyone around. Leo didn't feel hungry but according to his stomach, it appeared like he was. How long had he even been out? That would remain a mystery, or at least until he got to the Rebellion and asked, it would. By the way, was he even close to getting back home? Nothing really looked familiar, much to Leo's dismay. Maybe he's going the wrong way? Ha, imagine how disappointing that would be. He would be lost forever if that happened - wait, what was that in the distance? Was that the carnival? With a renewed hope and energy, Leo began to pick up his pace, sniffing the air by pure instinct. It had to be the Rebellion, it just had to. He had nowhere else to go if it wasn't.

As a familiar camp crossed his sight, Leo felt a sigh of relief escape from his lips. His homesick feeling began to slowly ebb away as he took further steps towards their camp, both eager to get back and reluctant to face those who wanted to help yet hadn't been able to. They were probably going to scold him, right? "Oh, Leo, you idiot, now look what you've done." At least, that was what Leo believed they would sound like. Or perhaps it would be more in the lines of, "With all the drugs you were taking, you deserved to lose your sense of smell." Either way, Leo found himself not caring. He just wanted to see everyone again.

"Hey, guys, what's up? I'm hoooome! Hope ya didn't miss me for...however long I was gone. Or out." Leo loudly called to no one in particular as he tiredly stumbled into camp, a genuine smile plastered on his face despite what he had gone through.

Nothing felt right but at least he was home.

    [fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 380px; line-height:97%; height: auto; font-size: 8.7pt; text-align: justify]/ tracking to read when i'm out of work
    it looks good so far!

[fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 380px; line-height:97%; height: auto; font-size: 8.7pt; text-align: justify]Although it was easy to claim that the guilt should be placed on one person, there had been a point in time where Leo had also disappeared off of the face of the Earth without much warning, too. Ever since the Rebellion moved their territory back to the carnival he found it extremely difficult to get used to the change. It wasn't the city, it wasn't his home. That being said, he just...temporarily vanished. He had only recently come back - perhaps about a week or two ago - and to make matters worse, it wasn't on good terms. As soon as he came back, he went down a dark and lonely path of constant drug abuse in a futile attempt to get his memories back, in a futile attempt to get himself back. It was all for naught, as he only ended up losing more than he gained, if he gained anything at all. Due to taking the drugs through his nose, he managed to burn the nerves in his nose and therefore cause his sense of smell to suddenly stop working. Ever since then, Leo swore to stop himself before he spiraled into an addiction that he would most likely regret. Not to mention the fact that he didn't want to be known as the "druggie boyfriend".

Speaking of that, Leo had noticed Helix's slight absence, although he mainly assumed that Helix had been busy and didn't have the chance to do much that involved their relationship. After all, who was Leo to pry? The two of them had lives of their own to deal with. Anyways, most of Leo's thoughts that involved Helix were filled with guilt. Guilt over the fact that he was practically an embarrassment to their relationship, guilt over the fact that that he found himself thinking about Helix more than he should, and guilt over the fact that he didn't check up on him. What if something was wrong? What if Helix had died? That last question certainly brought back memories, memories of holing himself up in his room as a result of guilt. However, Leo wasn't one for pessimistic thoughts, so he continued to force himself to believe that Helix was just busy. Perhaps when Leo got used to navigating without the aid of scent, he would be able to visit BlizzardClan.

Currently, the blonde feline was walking through the carnival, attempting to get his mind off of his withdrawal symptoms. They weren't that bad considering the fact that he had never gotten the chance to get fully addicted, but they were still there for him to deal with. Leo sucked in a breath, glancing at the slightly overcast sky. He hoped it would just rain already, the suffocating atmosphere of the gray clouds was beginning to give him a headache. He was about to dive into his thoughts on the current weather before his ears picked up on a familiar voice nearby. Instinctively, his heart skipped a beat as his brain registered the familiarity of it and his paws pushed him forward, urging him to find the source of the voice. He couldn't rely on scent anymore, unfortunately, so he had to use his other senses and hope for the best. Thankfully, it didn't take as long as he expected it to and he ended up stumbling upon Helix almost by accident.

Leo's pink eyes widened as soon as he caught sight of the feline before him and he automatically held an expression of disbelief. Was Helix really here? Normally Leo would be able to tell by his familiar scent, although that was out of the question now so he had to base this on instincts. Well, according to how fast his heart was beating and how he was beginning to crave any type of physical contact from him, he assumed that it truly was his boyfriend. It had to be. He had addressed him by name, after all.

"I don't know who you're talking about. My boyfriend ain't an asshole." Leo finally pointed out as soon as he found his voice, unable to refrain from grinning. Even staying in a perfectly still position was quite difficult, which was why he was beginning to fidget. He honestly didn't want to keep talking, as he was often more focused on actions. Unfortunately, he was also more of an impulsive person, which was why he wasn't able to keep still and instead practically ran to Helix in an attempt to pull him into a hug quicker. "Man, you really know how to make a guy wait. I feel like I already grew some gray hairs." Leo laughed, obviously joking. After all, it was partially his own fault for not checking up on him, too, and he had also disappeared at one point. In all honesty, Leo was more focused on the present at the moment. Helix was here right now, which was all that mattered in his opinion. He came back and God, Leo didn't even realize how much he had missed him until now.

    [fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 380px; line-height:97%; height: auto; font-size: 8.7pt; text-align: justify]/ FUCK this reply is so late
sorryyyy apush is just really testing my patience this week lol

Leo would agree with Helix if he knew what he was thinking: this was certainly overwhelming. The two hadn't seen each other in what seemed to be forever and he would be lying if he said that he hadn't realized how long it had actually been. It was almost as if they were meeting each other for the first time again, although the fact that they were already dating made everything seem ten times better. "Aw, c'mon. Am I ever wrong?" Leo playfully retaliated in response to Helix's earlier response. Even though it was impossible to be the nicest person ever, Leo wouldn't hold Helix's disappearance against him. Of course, if he disappeared off with someone else, then Leo would hold a grudge for more than a century but thankfully that didn't seem to be the case so far.

The blonde feline was happy to have his hug returned, as it would have been incredibly awkward if Helix wasn't here for hugs and other types of physical affection. As much as Leo didn't want to admit it, he was somewhat clingy, especially in terms of physical contact. He couldn't really help it, though. It often showed in his personality: he clung to volleyball as a hobby, used to cling to drugs for reassurance, and now clung to Helix just because he missed him. It shouldn't be a surprise at this point. Listening to Helix's other comments, Leo couldn't help but snort, "You're being way too hard on yourself. Look, with the stupid shit I've been doing, I'm not that nice, either. I ain't petty enough to hold it against ya." It was a somewhat vague response, as Leo didn't exactly want to admit what he had done yet. He didn't want Helix to leave him as a result of it and he might as well cherish this moment for a couple of more minutes before he dropped the bomb.

"And hey, it's fine. I mean, it's better than anything bad happening, so I'm cool with it." Leo added, realizing that it really wasn't that bad if Helix dropped off of the face of the Earth for a couple of days. After all, he could have been dead, captured, or worse. That being said, Leo was perfectly fine with what had happened instead, even if he had been worrying about the situation anyway.

    [fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 380px; line-height:97%; height: auto; font-size: 8.7pt; text-align: justify]how the hell do you guys make 13 threads in a row
i can barely even make one smh

[fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 380px; line-height:97%; height: auto; font-size: 8.7pt; text-align: justify]i know you asked for one but leo has a couple so i'll just list a majority of them lol

    main one:
    staying up - the neighbourhood

    others:
cops and robbers - the hoosiers
don't threaten me with a good time - panic! at the disco
hymn for the weekend - coldplay
    like a river - bishop
    me, myself, and i - g-eazy x bebe rexha
    monsters - ruelle
    west coast - the neighbourhood
    valley girls - blackbear

[fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 380px; line-height:97%; height: auto; font-size: 8.7pt; text-align: justify]Leo was ashamed to admit that he was almost tempted to ask her to provide him with drugs. Yes, he decided to quit because of moral reasons and because he believed that Helix wouldn't like an addict, but believe him when he said that withdrawal was incredibly difficult to go through. Hot flashes, cold flashes, nausea, shaking, passing out in random places, horrible cravings, it was all just a bit too much. It would make anyone want to numb the pain, which was why most addicts who tried to quit often went back to their drugs. Withdrawal was difficult and tiring to go through, which was why Leo hadn't been around that much. He didn't necessarily have the energy to do anything while he was dealing with any of those symptoms. Thankfully, today he was feeling much better, which was why he decided to go out and about and ended up stumbling across this situation.

Leo listened to what she had to say before giving her an apologetic smile, "Aw, sorry, I don't think I need any of those. Good luck in your business, though!" With that being said, Leo sat down on the ground, thankful that she had already mentioned which clan she was from so he wouldn't have to play the guessing game. Ever since he lost his sense of smell, everything suddenly became ten times more difficult than it had been before.

[fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 380px; line-height:97%; height: auto; font-size: 8.7pt; text-align: justify]Leo used to never read at all back when he had first joined the Rebellion, it was actually Helix who had gotten him into reading. Ever since the two of them first spoke, Leo became interested in books, especially books where there was always some type of action, some type of hero. It was a nice break from reality and it gave Leo hope that anyone had the potential of being a hero, although that hope was a little more diminished now. Either way, Leo eventually did begin to read a lot. Unfortunately, most of the books that he had gotten were destroyed in a fire that he caused, so he didn't have them anymore unless one counted memory, and everyone knew that his memory was absolute shit. That being said, Leo was more than willing to listen to a story. It would serve as a distraction for his withdrawal and it would bring him back some nice memories.

"A story? You're too kind. What's the name of it?" Leo asked as he approached, sitting down next to Epiphany. Perhaps he knew the story? It would be interesting either way, so he supposed that it didn't matter.

[fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 380px; line-height:97%; height: auto; font-size: 8.7pt; text-align: justify]Leo knew what Monopoly was, he just never played. He had never gotten the chance to play and he considered it to be quite a good thing considering the fact that he heard how the game could ruin friendships and relationships. As much as he didn't want that to happen to him, it wasn't like he had anything better to do. Plus, wasn't he a known risk-taker? There was no way that he was passing this opportunity up. Not to mention the fact that it was a good distraction from his drug cravings. "It's a game that tests who your real friends and family are. You will never look at them the same way again after this game, which is what makes it so fun." Leo explained to Epiphany as he made his way over, obviously joking. Or was he? It depended on how one looked at it. He then glanced over at the board, scanning the remaining figures before picking up the plane figurine with a devilish grin. "The plane's mine." He stated, as if daring anyone to object.

Now that he had his figurine chosen, he supposed that all he could do for now was wait for the game to begin and tear this clan apart. His pink eyes flickered to the board, quickly scanning it so he would be able to get a sense of the game he was playing before they actually began.
