"I-I c-can check you out, i-if that would be o-ok," The nervous medic shakily walked towards the loner. "I-I need to make sure y-you're all h-healthy." Skye pointed her muzzle towards her den, then turned to walk towards it. She flicked the tip of her tail slightly, indicating for him to follow.

Skye looked back at the male. "D-do you need any help? Oh!" She ran back into her den. "I've got just the herb for that!" A couple seconds later, she burst out of the den with leaves in her mouth. She set them down near the loner's paws. "H-here, eat these," She nudged them closer to Mai. "Th-this is chamomile. I-it'll help c-calm you down. T-trust me, th-they work." Skye gave a nervous smile.

"I-I know it t-tastes bad, b-but you need to swallow it," Skye urged. "I-It'll really help your n-nerves."

Badgerface looked around the camp as she padded towards the freshkill pile. "I like it here, everyone is so nice," Badgerface took a small mouse delicately from the pile from the tail. "with the exception of Iciclestar."

Freezefeather raised a forepaw, his mouth agape. "O-ok, Iciclestar," The young deputy said, taken aback. "R-right on it." Freezefeather hesitated, then left the den. He stopped at the front of the den, waiting for the warriors and apprentices to arise.

Skye widened her eyes and blushed. "Y-you don't have t-to th-thank me, i-it's just my duty," As Skye turned her head away, she saw the loner getting up and quickly alerted him. "W-wait! Follow me to m-my den, you can r-rest there." Skye padded towards the den once more.

Badgerface wasn't sure if she should be happy or worried as she wiped the spit from her face with her forepaw. She wearily made her way back to her den, taking glances from time to time at Snowfall and her group. Well then, She laid down on her bed and began munching on the flesh of her tiny mouse. I guess I stand corrected,

"Good morning, Snowfall!" Freezefeather watched the she-cat approach him. That crazy old hag should be in the elder's den, He chuckled softly to himself at his silent remark. she sure acts like one. "Would you like to lead the hunting patrol, Larkspeck?" The deputy lifted his chin to see his other clanmate.

Badgerface finished her meal and headed for the medicine den to visit with Ebonyripple. He's the only one that actually is nice to me...

As the deputy awaited the she-cat's response, he felt the presence of his leader. "Iciclestar!" He turned around sharply. "I didn't realize you moved from beside the river! What brings you here?"

Badgerface smiled as she walked in. "Hello, Ebonyripple!" She bowed her head to acknowledge the medicine cat. "Hello, Silvermist!" She turned and bowed again to Silvermist. She sat down in front of Ebonyripple. "May I have some chamomile please? I woke up in a panic again today." Badgerface chuckled. She ducked her head and lowered her voice to a whisper. "Is it just me or you two are the only cats who are nice around here?"

"Yes, Larkspeck, would you mind accompanying Lilypaw and Silvermist on the hunting patrol?" Freezefeather said rather loudly so the other cats could hear. "And Rocktail, you are going to lead the border patrol along with Bramblepaw and Snowfall." Freezefeather raised his chin to scan the camp if the rest of the cats were awake to hear this.

Skye gave a smile. Good night, lost one. She was much more comfortable in her own den. No stuttering, no panicking, the sweet and strong smell of herbs, this was her home. She padded out for a short time to get some moss, then returned to cover Mai up with it. That will keep him comfortable for a while. She laid down beside him and squinted her eyes, not wanting to fall asleep and leave his side.

"N-no, no!" Skye straightened her back and shook her head slightly. "I-I can stay here, i-it's my job. Y-you go on and d-do whatever y-you need to do." Skye waited for a moment, scanned and sniffed Mai, then got up to get some herbs from the shelves.

"Yeah, that would be great." Foxflower got up and stretched. "Even though I'm a queen, I still got a little punch in me!" Foxflower walked toward the freshkill pile. "Eaglecry, can you watch Volekit for a moment?"

"Yes, do you know where to find it?" Chincloud said as he waltzed back into the den. "I didn't realize we were out of catmint," Chinkcloud headed to the pile of herbs and started organizing them. "I'll pick up where you left off, don't worry!"

"I shall repeat it," Freezefeather raised his head higher and almost yelled the statement. "Larkspeck is leading the hunting patrol along with Lilypaw and Silvermist, Rocktail is leading the border patrol along with Bramblepaw and Snowfall. That will be all." After his speech, he walked further into the camp to see if everyone was awake to hear.

"Um," Foxflower raised her head and scanned the outer part of camp before looking back at her clanmate. "How about the area past Hightree?" She pointed out with her forepaw.

"Here, Foxflower knows where it is, she can take you there." Chinkcloud said, sounding rushed. "Just ask her and she'll be happy to help."

As Freezefeather saw Silvermist bolt into the nursery, he quietly followed her. "Silvermist, where are you going?" He said before he realized he was in the medicine den. Mousedung! I always forget!

-CAVERNCLAN INTRODUCTION AND TOUR-
[size=9pt]Hello, welcome to CavernClan. My name is Mudstar, I am the leader of this clan. Our clan is located in the beginning of a shallow, yet large cave in a dormant volcano. The entrance to our cave overlooks AshenClan's, a bordering clan, fields. Follow me, I'll show you where the different locations are. In the center of our camp is a huge pond. This is where we get most of our water and we even hunt there for cave fish. There's the nursery, it's found near the back of the cave in a cozy shelf near the ground. This is so that if our camp is attacked, our queens and kits can hide safely. The floor is covered with soft cave moss, and the walls are kit-proofed to all its extend. As you can see, vine drape down the entrance of it for privacy. Next to the nursery is the elders den. Just like the nursery, it too has a moss floor and hanging vines, but obviously not kit-proofed. Look over there, that's the apprentice den. The apprentice den is found, as you can see, in a hole in a rock pile near the middle-front of the camp, just in front of the pond. This is so if our camp is invaded, the apprentices will be helping the warriors fend the predators off. The inside of the den has a dirt floor and air pockets in the walls where the rocks do not overlap. Most of the holes are stuffed with moss by the warriors, but the apprentices are so rambunctious in there, they keep kicking them out! They like to peek out of there to watch what the others are doing, so it's sort of a win-win. The warriors den rests in a hole in the wall to our right. It's near the entrance so if a predator enters the cave, the warriors will be there to fight, alongside some boisterous apprentices. The interior is just like the apprentice den, but there are no holes in the walls of it. The medicine den is found in a hole in our left wall. It is also near the entrance so the medicine cat and/or her/his apprentice can collect herbs easier and treat any cat that walks in right away. The inside of this den is special, for it has shelves along the walls to hold various herbs. There are beds made of soft moss for the sick cats, and grass beds for the medicine cats. Now, you can find my den near the back wall of the cave. It's located, as you can see, under a shelf sticking out from the wall. I usually go up on the ledge to host meetings or make an announcement. Additionally, the pond is located fairly near my den. Pretty convenient, eh? It has vines draping down from the sides of the shelf, and under the ledge has my soft, mossy, extremely comfortable floor. Heh, sorry , I really like my den . Right in the center, to the left of the pond near the medicine cats' den, is the freshkill pile. Outside of the cave, we like to catch normal things, like mice, hares, rabbits, etc. But that doesn't mean we only hunt on the outside. We also like to eat bats, salamanders, crayfish, and eyeless fish. I personally think crayfish are the tastiest, they're crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside... Oh! I'm sorry, I'm getting carried away. So, that concludes the tour, now we can go over our ever so important clan rules and, if you'd like, meet some of the cats that make CavernClan CavernClan.[/size]

"N-no, i-it was nothing," The female medic bowed her head shakily. "Our kind has to stick together, ya know?"

Whisperkit blinked open her eyes to the morning sun. She broke free from her mother's somewhat giant paws and arched her back to stretch, making her body shake. She attempted a yawn, but to no avail. She couldn't breathe. "Hollyshade! Hollyshade!" Whisperkit croaked as she gasped for air. She ran into the medicine den, desperately searching for the medicine cat. She ran so fast that she ran into one of the walls inside the den, making her blackout for a couple of seconds. She took another gasp of air. I can breathe again! Whisperkit took long breaths and sat down on one of the beds in the den, trying to calm herself down. This was a normal routine for the young kit.

To the cry of her kit, Honeywasp awoke. "Nyah, what is it?" The irratated queen squawked as she got up, blinking her eyes and ridding them of the crusted night tears. She got up, yawned, and stretched, then saw Whisperkit in the medicine den sat down. Eh, she'll be fine, Honeywasp groggily padded over to the freshkill pile, wobbling along the way. Gah, I hate being a fox-dunged queen.

Firewing was already up. He was over by the freshkill pile, scanning it for the perfect catch. Found it! There it was. The perfect hare. Not too big, not too small, not too bony. He grabbed it in his teeth and made his way to the warriors' den. He sat down with his meal on his bed of soft moss and began to eat. Maybe if I'm not picked for a morning patrol I can hunt by myself, The red tabby warrior thought to himself.

Pearfish was awake, but his eyes were closed. He didn't want to get up. He didn't have to get up. But he did anyway. Another day. The elder hesitated, then struggled to get up. When he finally sat upright, he started to bathe his rugged, matted, aged fur. He was just about to finish up when he heard his apprentice friend approach him. Pearfish smiled at the thought of his friend meeting him yet again this morning, tongue still absent from his mouth.

Rushpaw's eyes bolted open. He got up with a start and gave himself a quick bathe. His paws bounced up and down, awaiting his mentor to tell him to do something. Can't wait can't wait can't wait! His eyes filled with anticipation. Oh, wait! He stopped. Gotta go check on Pearfish first! He ran towards the freshkill pile, swiftly snagged two plump mice, and skidded into the elder's den. "Hiya, Pearfish!" Rushpaw dropped the mice on the ground in front of his forepaws.

Skye stared at Stirling and hestitated before answering. "U-um, s-sure," She replied quietly, not having the courage to say no to him. She wobbily laid down and squinted closed her eyes before realizing how relaxing up was to sleep. The rest of her body that was not already sat down flopped to the floor, and the medic looked like she had just fought off an entire pack. This is so relaxing, Skye thought as she slowly fell asleep.

You're fine, you're fine, Whisperkit kept saying to herself, but it didn't really help her anxiety. All she wished was for Hollyshade come back to her den.

As Honeywasp was about to grab a hare from the freshkill pile, she saw the leader and deputy make a scene. "Ugh," Honeywasp scoffed as she grabbed the hare from the pile and headed back to her den. "how hard is it to get at least some peace and quiet around here?"

Firewing saw the young warrior get up and gave a warm smile, the blood from his meal on his cheeks, blended with the color of his fur. "Good morning, Patchfur," Firewing got up with the other warrior. "how are you?"

Rushpaw bent his head down and gobbled down one of the mice in front of him. "I'm sorry I can't stay to chat, Pearfish," Rushpaw said, mouth full. "I have to go meet Wolfsong!" Rushpaw scurried out of the den, blood from the mouse he gulped down trailing from his mouth.

Pearfish opened his mouth to say something, but was cut off as Rushpaw ran out of the den. "Heh, apprentices," Pearfish said as he laid back down again. "always in a hurry." Pearfish slowly closed his eyes as he tried to get some more sleep to distract him from the fact that he was alone.
