"Fish," Ebonywing said, "You have a excellent personality, and even if you didn't, you'd still be welcome. Twistedwillow, Moonstar, Mothwing. They have their negative qualities, but the cats couldn't get along without them. And, I like you, Dovewing likes you, your cousins like you."
Oh, oh, usually, a Moonclan warrior would discover their power through an instance through their apprentice training. Another method is a Starclan cat telling them. When Emberkit came to Bluepaw about what his mother was doing, Bluepaw told him about his power. A third, and final(and extremely rare) method of discovering Moonclan power is that the said apprentice(or warrior) would get in a dangerous situation and their power would be awakened to help them in battle.
Moonstar decided that now that Crescent and Fish were talking with warriors, and she was alone, it would probably be a good time to page Duskstar. She looked over the purple amulet and spotted the button Duskstar had mentioned in their chat and pressed it.
"Moonstar!" Duskstar sighed in relief. "Excellent timing, by the way. We just finished Snowmist's trial. We need your help."
"SNOWMIST'S TRIAL?!?" Moonstar yowled in shock. "What did he do-?"
Duskstar sighed sadly. "Let me explain. He killed Owlstar, attempted to murder me to take the amulet, experimented with herbs on other cats, refused to treat other cats, and was plotting to kill EVERY cat of EVERY clan. We need a new medicine cat, and we don't have any medicine cat apprentices."
Moonstar thought to herself and suddenly remembered Sapphirepaw's words.
"Moonstar, I don't feel comfortable being a warrior apprentice."
"Duskstar, I've got your cat."
"Fish, you're plenty old enough to be a warrior, and living alone must have given you quite the experience you would need to rejoin our clan as a warrior. We would NEVER make you be treated as an apprentice," Ebonywing explained. "We're glad to have you back, Fish."
So, I'm assuming Fish will say his goodbyes to Crescent, Fish will get his warrior name, and Crescent will leave afterwards. Then for those of you who have been watching the plotting thread, you know what happens next.
ACK CAN'T POST UNTIL FISH DOES IM STUCK IN HOLES LOL
Moonstar noticed Fish's comment about Sapphirepaw's desire to become a medicine cat and ran towards them.
"Hey, Sapphirepaw, you want to be a medicine cat, right?" Moonstar asked the apprentice kindly. Sappphirepaw nodded in dismay.
"I have a question for you, young she-cat," Moonstar said dangerously. "Would you be willing to leave Moonclan, and everything you've known, behind to pursue your goals? Because I know of a clan who could use your desire to become a medicine cat and your healing ability." She motioned for the others to move so she could talk privately with Sapphirepaw.
Crescent noticed Fish walking towards him as he groomed his paws. After trying to interact with the other cats, and failing, he realized that it wasn't new for strange cats to show up. He'd learned quite a lot about the clan in general, about their powers, as he'd watched the demonstration of Doekit's power when she'd wandered off, and some of the older warriors demonstrating theirs. He'd heard of warriors talking about the battles against a "Frostgale" and that he'd been related to Moonstar.
Crescent looked up. "Crescent," Fish said nervously, "I've made a decision. I'm going to return to Moonclan. If Ebonywing and Scorchtalon were able to make it here without powers, I think I could too."
Crescent had expected this to happen. He was, however, perfectly ok with it. Maybe he could visit Fish sometime later, maybe live in the mountains for a while. He could then tell his cats the information he gathered and then head back to the lake.
"I'm going to miss you, Fish," Crescent said sadly, and rested his head on Fish's shoulder. Fish did the same, and they sat there for a moment.
Rainheart looks on at Kayfoot and Lightningstrike's duel, bored. She wonders why she even summoned water spheres in the first place when Lightningstrike was always there to save the day at the last minute. The water spheres she levitates slowly sink to the ground.
Shadowtrax sits in the forest nearby, licking his wounds. Where was Kayfoot? That cat always took too long. He never did what he was told. Suddenly, Shadowtrax got worried. Did Kayfoot get killed in the fire?
"KAYFOOT!" Shadowtrax roared, and ran for the fire. He'd rip ANY Fireclan cat to shreds who stood in the way of him rescuing his son. He skidded to a halt when he saw that the fire was gone and Lightningstrike was facing off against Kayfoot.
"No need, Turtlepaw, it looks like Lightningstrike has it all under control ONCE AGAIN," Rainheart hissed bitterly.
"Yeah. You too." Crescent padded away from Fish.
"You should tell the clan that Fish is joining the clan," Ebonywing said as he caught up to Moonstar and Sapphirepaw. Moonstar nodded, and turned to the apprentice.
"Wait for a second, will you?" Moonstar said to Sapphirepaw, then turned to the Moonrock.
"WOULD EVERY CAT OLD ENOUGH TO CLIMB THE MOUNTAINS GATHER FOR A CLAN MEETING?" Moonstar yowled, and leapt onto the rock. The cats quickly filed in.
"Recently, two rogues were brought to our camp, Crescent and Fish. Fish used to live in our clan, but ran away as an apprentice due to the fact that he had no powers. He has, however, decided to rejoin our ranks. While as a rogue he had to fend for himself, and hunt and fight on his own. We believe this is enough training for Fish to rejoin our ranks as a warrior.
"Fish, could you come on up?"
Fish beamed with pride and walked forwards to face Moonstar.
"I, Moonstar, leader of Moonclan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this rogue. He has lived in the wild in an attempt to free his clan of a burden, yet we wish him to return to our clan. We believe that he should take a warrior name, and I commend him to you as a warrior in his turn.
"Fish, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?"
Fish dipped his head. "I do," he said gravely.
"Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name. Fish, from this moment you will be known as Fishscale. StarClan honors your energy and humor, and we welcome you as a full warrior of Moonclan."
"FISHSCALE, FISHSCALE!" the clan cheered.
Crescent dipped his head in honor of his friend. Fishscale.
They were part of two different worlds now, two different destinies. Fishscale, the warrior, Crescent, the rogue. Even though he said he would, he knew he wouldn't visit.
Tears in his eyes, Crescent walked out of Moonclan Camp for the last time.
Moonstar stepped off of the rock and motioned for Sapphirepaw to follow her to her den.
"Wait," Ebonywing looked around anxiously, "Where's Emberpaw and Doekit?" Fearing for the two young cats, Ebonywing ran towards the Moonclan Camp exit.
Emberpaw grabbed Doekit by the scruff of the neck. "We should try to head back, I don't want to be stuck out here," Emberpaw said worriedly. Together they walked away from the Silver Star Alliance's hideout.
Twistedwillow, Thornstrike, this is your call. POV about following Crescent out of the camp, I'll do the rest.
Oh, and I have something horrifying planned for the Silver Star Alliance's hideout. You'll see.
Ebonywing shook Scorchtalon off. "He wasn't here for the ceremony. I'm going to look for him. You stay here." Without looking backwards, he ran off.
Crescent whipped around as he heard a twig snapping. Someone was following him? He had just a moment's hesitation when a tom leapt onto him and pinned him down. His attacker held him down, one paw on his throat, the other on his chest. Crescent gasped for air.
"You may think you're clever, getting Moonclan on your side and all," the tom hissed, "but Moonclan has no place for rogues. We need as much prey as we can get, rogue. In case you can't tell, this is a mountain environment. PREY IS SCARCE."
Crescent took great, gulping breaths. "I wasn't planning on staying, sir. If you could kindly let me go, I'd be obliged. I won't be in your hair again."
"Fat chance, rogue," the tom hissed. "You have information about us that shouldn't reach the other clans. I can't trust you to keep it to yourself, so i'm just going to have to shut your fat mouth myself."
With Crescent in his mercy, the tom unsheathed his claws and tore open Crescent's stomach. Crescent was blinded with pain for a second, then howled in agony. Crescent tried to stand up, then collapsed onto the ground. His vision flickered. There was no way he was getting out of this.
Moonstar looked at Sapphirepaw. "Duskstar contacted me. He reports that his medicine cat has been caught killing other cats, and he'll be exiled as soon as a replacement medicine cat is in order. You are our best hope. Would you be willing to join the ranks of Stormclan?
"Prey is more abundant there, and it is in the forest, which means nights will be warmer, there won't be any cliffs to fall of off, and there won't be a river to drown in. You'll be happy and healthy, and a celebrity to boot. However," Moonstar said gravely, "You'll have to leave Rubypaw and every friend you've made here, even a crush you've been hiding. If you see us at the Gathering, you'll have to treat us like strangers."
Ravenflash snuck into the Silver Star Alliance. It was empty. None of the rogues were here, and Emberpaw and Doekit had left just minutes ago. Ravenflash grinned. Time to burn the evidence.
With a low whistle, Ravenflash breathed a long, thin tounge of flame from her pursed lips. She aimed the magical fire at the walls, the papers and the moss that the band of rogues had left behind. The moss easily set aflame and spread to all of the nests in the area. With a delighted gasp, Ravenflash got into the maps. She set those aflame too.
Cinders were crawling up the walls. Ravenflash sighed in satisfaction and left the cave. Maybe she'd be able to pin this one on Emberpaw as well.
Ah, and btw, in Moonclan, new warriors do not hold vigils, in mountain territory, their life depends on how much energy they have to hunt and fight. If a warrior were to spend the night awake and in vigil they'd be exhausted and unable to catch prey.
(ಠ ͜ʖಠ)
Ebonywing ran into the forest. He could hear a piercing howl of agony. Now in a state of fear, he kept up his running, trying his hardest not to stop because of exhaustion. Something ran through the bushes next to him, but he paid it no mind. He ran towards a clearing and halted.
The rogues from the Silver Star Alliance were gathered in a circle around something. It was very still, like a matted lump of fur on the ground. To Ebonywing's horror, it was a cat, and it was dead.
No no NO NO NO this can't be happening it cant no NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO
Ebonywing ran towards the lump and the rogues scattered into the bushes. He lifted the cat's head gently and held it in his paws. The cat turned its head weakly and looked at Ebonywing with piercing purple eyes.
It was Crescent.
Crescent looked up at Ebonywing with eyes full of love and agony. For a last sight, Crescent hadn't wished for anything more.
"Ebonywing," Crescent breathed. The pool of red kept growing around him. His once shiny silver fur was stained with his own blood.
"Crescent," Ebonywing asked, voice filled with shock, "who did this? Why- We all knew it was over, you were leaving, you weren't a danger to us. Why?" The normally calm and cool deputy was babbling. He was really scared, wasn't he?
"Ebonywing... don't be a-afraid. I-i s-sorta exp-pected... this," Crescent said weakly. His vision was going red and he wanted to make sure that Ebonywing got everything.
"Crescent, just hold on. You'll be ok, ok? Rosewind can heal something like this. Just hold on, ok? HOLD ON, DAMNIT!" Ebonywing was getting desperate now. Crescent shook his head.
"R-ravenflash burned the m-maps. I don't... know i-if it's the... pre-death h-halluc-cinations, but I know... it's t-true. I didn't h-have... time to report th-the information. Your... secrets... are s-safe."
Ebonywing started wailing. Strange. Crescent feebly grabbed Ebonywing's head with his paws and pulled it down towards his face. He pulled him into a kiss for a second, and his paws dropped. It was only for a second, but Crescent still blushed with the blood he had left. His eyelids were starting to droop.
"Ebonywing... I-i love... you.."
Everything went black.
Emberpaw heard the crunching of twigs and leaves, and looked up. Ebonywing was walking towards him with a defeated, crushed look on his face. Emberpaw yowled with happiness and relief. They were saved!
Emberpaw ran towards him, Doekit in hot pursuit. "EBONYWING! Thank Starclan, I thought we were going to starve out here! You have got to see what we found! Come on, follow us! Is that blood on your fur?"
Ebonywing didn't say anything about the blood, but he followed the apprentice and kit silently. They reached the Silver Star Alliance's hideout in a matter of minutes. Emberpaw stuck his head in and gasped in horror.
Everything was on fire.
"Did you do this?" Ebonywing asked gravely.
"No," Doekit replied. "I would have seen him."
Rowanpaw sat down next to Turtlepaw. "Hey guys, whatcha talking about? I think this is my fault..."
Rainheart stood up angrily. "Lightningstrike. Enough is enough. KILLING IS NOT NECESSARY, and you need to know that. It is NOT the warrior way to kill every cat you see that gets in your way, and if you can't understand this, I'll ask Winterstar if some apprentice duties will work that fact into you. Now leave Patchleap alone and let these cats go. I think that Kayfoot has learned his lesson."
"Thank you for your help, young one," Moonstar meowed gratefully. "Soon, I will contact Duskstar, and you will be escorted to their territory. Duskstar says that he'll have the Shadowclan medicine cat train you until you can help the clan by yourself. I do believe that you deserve to have a word with Snowmist as well, as long as Duskstar hasn't chased him out yet." With that, she left her den. She poked her head out to witness Emberpaw, Doekit and Ebonywing stagger into camp.
Ebonywing let the pair of young cats run towards Moonstar to report their findings, and went to seek out Fishscale. She found him and Dovestripe laughing and talking in the warrior's den. He decided not to say anything about Crescent's kiss.
"Fishscale," Ebonywing said gravely. "A word." Fishscale fearfully glanced at Ebonywing, and said goodbye to Dovestripe, assuring her she'd be back.
"Fishscale, I went out to find Emberpaw and Doekit. As you may have noticed, I succeeded. I also found something else," he meowed nervously.
"What did you find?" Fishscale said anxiously.
"This may come as a shock to you..."
"Get it over with."
"Fine," Ebonywing said harshly. "Crescent is dead. He was attacked by a cat. I watched him die."
Fishscale sucked in his breath. "No."
"It is the truth. I wish that you'd help me bury him later. I'd rather not have the clan know, it would just cause more drama. Moonstar needs order if she is going to escort Sapphirepaw to Stormclan, and gossip and rumors won't help my job running the clan while she's gone," Ebonywing meowed. Fishscale nodded.
"When?" he called as he walked back to his den.
"At dusk."
Now that this is over... (i'm still gonna POV Ebonywing and Fish burying Crescent, but still)... The Dual Roleplay Stormclan/Moonclan thread is now open for POVing. You can find the link in my signature, and you can start POVing straight away. I'll put a similar announcement on the Stormclan thread, so if you participate in both, it's another reminder for u~
Heya. So the Dual Roleplay thread is now open!! The link is in my signature, go check it out. You can start POVing as soon as you like.
THE DUAL THREAD IS NOW OPEN!! :3 POV WHEN READY
Rainheart scowled. "Lightningstrike is not above the rules, even if she IS your favorite." Angry and useless once again, Rainheart headed back to camp.
LIGHTNINGSTRIKE, IT IS MY JOB TO CRITIQUE NEW ARRIVALS, AND YOU BETTER NOT SAY CRAP ABOUT ANYONE'S POWERS WHEN YOU HAVE A FIRECLAN CAT WITH LIGHTNING POWERS. MOONSTAR IS MORE POWERFUL THAN SKYFEATHER.
OH, BTW, skyfeather accepted.
Anybody who wants to keep up with the story and or see Sapphirepaw off to Stormclan can POV on the joint thread. Most of the main storyline will happen on the joint thread until further notice. For your best interest I would join the joint thread, so... yep
"Nothing." Rainheart scowled and moved around Winterstar.
Yeh, you can scare Justicepaw. I'm going to impose a time skip, in which what happens from now forward is at the meeting between Moonclan and Stormclan. Any cat from the clans can join the roleplay, to either see Sapphirepaw off or to welcome her to Stormclan.
Oh, and by the way, the deputies are still at the clans. This is information that mainly affects me; as I roleplay as Ebonywing and Littlepine, but this is still useful as I hope none of you make the mistake of sending through a POV mentioning their appearance. I will be cold and cruel with dealing with these mistakes as now none of you can make any excuses for them.
Also. I will not be able to POV much from the 17th to the 22nd as I'm going on a class trip to Washington, D.C. If I get any pictures I may attach them to a post, and I might post if I have wifi. I will be relying on Lightningstrike to keep the posts moving, under my direction, of course. If anything freezes or something happens I will freeze the roleplay until the 22nd.
Moonstar walked into the clearing. Spotting Duskstar, she grinned and padded over to her. "Duskstar. Good to see you."
Duskstar watched as Moonstar walked over to him. "And to you, darling." Duskstar walked next to Moonstar over to a corner. "So when's the meeting going to start?" Duskstar asked eagerly.
"Soon. For now, let the warriors talk to each other. It would make them more accepting of sharing a warrior."
Emberpaw spotted an apprentice walking through the area only to be spooked by Suneye. "Ah, are you ok?" he asked nervously as he ran over. He shot a piercing glare at Suneye through the treees.
"Ah, don't worry, Suneye is like that." Emberpaw shot a glare at the blind medicine cat before realizing that Suneye couldn't see it. Whoops. He turned around and faced the apprentice again. "So I'm Emberpaw! I'm from Moonclan! Who are you?"
Duskstar noticed a black she-cat apprentice sitting and watching everyone nervously. "Hey, Moonstar, is that Sapphirepaw?" Duskstar asked, interested. Moonstar nodded and Duskstar leapt over next to Sapphirepaw.
"As the leader of Stormclan, it is my duty to talk with our new apprentices, don't you think?" he asked Sapphirepaw.
