Bri smiled and replied,"Well school in general sucks for me, so I should be the last person to ask."Bri couldn't shake off how nice this boy was, he was so different from all the other boys, but she couldn't put her finger on it. "I've been going here for two years though and it's a lot better than my old school." Her gaze fell to the floor as she said the last part.

Lizzie felt every bone in her body push towards him, but she remained where she was. I have to get out of here is all she could think about. "I have to go, my next class in useless." She turned and walked towards the exit doors. She only felt the potion pull her towards people when she looked at them, so as she walked she made sure to keep her eyes on the floor.
-
The gang members smirked at one another. "And what do you think you can do?",the gang leader said with a laugh. Alex shot Rei a warning glace. These guys were dangerous and if someting happened to her he would blame himself. I have to get us out of here he thought to himself just as one of the boys reached out his hand to grab Rei.

Being a junior was hard and she couldn't bare the thought of having to deal with two more years of highschool. Bri shrugged,"Yeah all you have to do is act fake and then everyone loves you." Bri had always had problems with girls. but recently it had gotten really bad. They had started being physical and coming at her in their "groups". Just as they walked around the corner she saw the two meanest girl in school. Lily and Brooke. Apart they were easy to deal with, but together they were awful. Bri frantically moved closer to Ezra, trying to hide her newly shaking hands.
-
Alex gaped at all the members on the floor. He didn't know if he should run or hug her for getting them out of that deadly situation. He looked down at Rei, but she still looked so inncent. He couldn't understand how this was poosible. She was inhumanly strong and fast. One of the members had hit his head on the ground when he fell and blood began to pool around him. "I'll call 911 you have to get out of here!", he called to her over his shoulder as he leaned down to stop the bleeding. Even though these boys were douches he still didn't think they deserved to lose their lives.
-
Both the girls eyed them as they walked closer. A shiver shot down Bri's spine as they both smirked at her. Just as Bri thought they were going to leave her alone, one of the girls rammed into her and spilled her water all over her shirt and her books. This was humiliating, but Bri still looked up at Ezra and whispered,"It's through that door." and with that she turned around and began to walk away. Girls were ruthless, especially when it comes to boys. The girls just couldn't help it when she gave them the chance to humiliate her infront of someone who could've al least been a potential friend. She was so stupid for thinking that someone might actually accept her.
-
A smile crept acroos Bri's face. She nodded reluctantly, there was no way she was going to pass up a nice dry shirt. Her eyes fell down until they reached his hand around her wrist. She wasn't shaken by the action, but something about the way he stopped her was almost cute. Her wide blue eyes skimmed his face trying to read his emotions. Bri looked back over her shoulder to check if the girls were gone. Thankfully they were out of sight, probably sitting in class. Just then the bell rang signifying that class had finally started. "So about that shirt.",she said with a grin.
-
Bri grabbed it with a smile and scanned the halls for any students. All clear,"Hey can you just turn around for a second?", she asked. Her shirt had started to stick to her body and it was growing very uncomfortable. The sweatshirt was soft against her skin as she held it. The sweatshirt was black which was her favorite color.
-
Just as he asked if she was done she pulled the sweatshirt down over her head. It fell down over half of her thighs, but she didn't mind. It was warm and comfortable."Yeah i'm good.",she responded. She would never tell him, but girls' bathrooms were known for having some really low stuff happen. That was where all the girls would go with their groups to "freshen up" and gossip."Hey you might want to get to your...new student thing before your late.",she added as she turned. Just before she pushed the exit doors open the leave she looked over her shoulder and smiled,"thanks."
-
Bri pushed through the doors and squinted as the sun shocked her eyes. It was a beautiful day out. She walked to her car and unlocked it with a beep. She started the engine and began to drive towards the bakery to get something to eat. She was starving and she hadn't had time to eat breakfast this morning. Right on cue her stomach growled just as she pulled into the parking lot. She slid off her seat and made sure to lock her car. You never know what people a capable of. She ordered a cinnamon bagel and a cup of soup. After she had finished, she looked at the clock to see it was 10 minutes before her last class. She left the bakery and drove back to school. By then she had 5 minutes to grab all her stuff and get to class.

Alex dialed 911 and a low male voice answered him. He told them the address and the situation and just as they asked for his name he hung up. Who cares who he is, all they would do is question him and he didn't have time for that. Most of the boys just had broken arms, so they would be fine. Alex was hoping that since they were a gang that the police would put them in jail or at least juvy for the younger ones. He had no idea where Rei went, but at least she was safe. He had to get out of here before the police showed up and asked him to come to their station. He broke into a run and began to head towards the food court again.
-
Alex grabbed the sweater and wrapped it back around her. He held her face in his big hands and whispered,"Rei, I don't know what that was, but we couldv'e gotten into serious trouble. You saved our lives and even though I have questions, i'll wait for you to be ready to share the answers with me." He wrapped his arm around her shoulder and kept walking. Police car sirens were blaring in the distance. Getting louder and louder until they the cars were finally visable. The police didn't seem to notice their dark silhouettes in the shadows as they loaded up the members one by one.
-
Alex tightened his arm around her, sensing her discomfort. The Police were now getting in their cars and heading back to the station. The smell of Mexican food filled the air causing his stomach to growl. "Do you want to grab something to eat? It's on me.",he headed towards the food truck. He pulled out his wallet and grabbed a twenty hoping it would cover the meal. He ordered his food and looked at her waiting for her to order.
-
Lizzie pushed through the exit doors just as the bell rang. She spotted her car just across the parking lot and pressed the unlock button. Her car beeped as she climbed into the drivers seat and inserted the keys. She headed towards the café hoping to get a coffee and finish her homework. The worker gave her a weird look as she walked through the door, probably because she was still supposed to be in school. She got a vanilla latte and sat down at a table to start her homework.
-
He gave her a look of surprise, but still ordered it for her. The worker handed them a number and told them to pick a table. He walked over to a two person table and pulled out her chair waiting for her to sit down. A cool breeze blew his hair and ruffled it making it fall perfectly. He looked up at her expectantly.
-
Alex sat down across from her just as the waiter brought out their food. "So, tell me about yourself",he smiled. She looked like she was deep in thought and he couldn't help but wonder what it might be about. Could she be feeling the same way he was? He thanked the waiter for the food and asked for a cup of water with lemon in it. He took a bite of his food as he waited for her answer.
-
An hour later she checked her phone 2:40 school was just getting out. She put everything in her backpack and headed home, hoping the school wouldn't call home asking where she had been last hour. She drove home and parked in the driveway.
-
He smirked at her delighted face and replied,"We all go through rebellious phases at this age." His mind drifted to his past and all the mistakes he had made. "Some of us just go through it earliar", and with that he took a bite of his food showing that he was done with the topic. His parents had divorced when he was three and his mom took full custody. She couldn't take care of him because she was too busy drinking her life away. Alex had been emancipated at 15 and joined his brother in a gang. That was a dark part of his past and he tried his best to push it out of his brain. He was trying to start over and that's why he was now finishing his senior year in school.
-
Alex gave her a confused look and said,"That's tough, I would have left too." He finsihed his food and grabbed their trash. He stood up to throw it away, but paused. He looked at Rei and asked," Is it like, with your religon that your parents choose?" He had never met someone who had either parents pick who they should spend the rest of their life with. That would be awful and there would be no connection. He couldn't imagine anyone having to go through that.
-
Alex couldn't understand why she kept saying pure bloodline, but he was too tired to ask. It had been a very long day and the sun was now setting. Just then a police car pulled up and parked. A police man got out and started approaching them. He stopped and asked,"Are you Alex?" He nodded in response and the police man pulled out handcuffs. "You have the right to remain silent, anything you say may and will be used against you." Alex knew his brother had to have given the police his name. There was no way he would go down and let Alex get off free and happy.
