aha! he had noticed that it was the father that had meowed softly - evenkit then realised that perhaps, stormglass was back to normal, and everything was ok again. it was strange to see him return to his 'normal' self now, despite all the hardships and misunderstanding. but now, in evenkit's mind, everything was ok. not that he was going to say this to his father though. the brown and white tabby trotted up to his father and gave a purr, followed by a wide smile.

oh god, what had occurred? evenkit heard his brother weeping, he felt his stomach tighten and his brain cease thinking, as he came closer, he had realised what had happened. the brown and white tabby's stomach lurched in agony, and he felt dim inside. the mid length fur wafted in the breeze, almost as a salute for a royal sendoff. tom was...nice. he was one of them, one of the younger ones. the future, perhaps. maybe tom went up there for the greater good. he dipped his head, trying not to become shambles like he did when he saw the torn up body. poor tom.

the joke sure was ruined. evenkit sighed, still giving lapis a meek smile. he didn't really mind, since he didn't really know her. for the moment, the brown and white tabby would let it go. perhaps, later on, she would realise her mistake, and think about how much of a genius evenkit was - but this was unlikely. for a moment, he forgot that there was a dragon in the sky bombarding them with paint filled balloons, so his olive eyes followed the skies again, watching the dragon. he was already covered in paint, so it didn't matter if he got coated again. perhaps it would just make him slightly more magnificent.

a patrol? with his father? how could he say no? the brown and white tabby's face lit up in such joy, that he nodded ever so violently. his fur shook as violently as the clouds did on a bad day, perhaps the flowing locks showed his teeming pride. going on patrol would perhaps mess up that pride, if he let himself or stormglass down, but he doubted this would happen. after all, father would be there to watch over him like a shadow, insistent on not leaving the little kitten alone until the blazing orange orb in the sky tucked itself away. recollecting his metaphorical mind, he spoke. "i'd love to come, father."

evenkit looked up at athenas soft eyes and his ears twitched with her harmonious words. they soothed him, calmed him until his eyes dried up, and he was once recollected. he took the handkerchief and gave a small nod to athena in thanks, before looking up at his father, stormglass. this calmed him further, as the picture of the rotting, deceased body seemed to no longer be of worry. the adults would take care of it now. olive eyes looked over his father and he spoke soft, gentle words. "no worry father, i will remove myself out of this situation." he licked his lips, closing his eyes. he gave one more look at the mangled body, feeling the wounds the npc bared sting on his body. he looked away, getting to his feet. "may starclan bless him." he nodded, before setting off to distract himself from the horrible ordeal.

yes. hopefully that small message had gotten through to seakit. he glanced forward again, and continued to dig. dig, dig, dig! that was all that was possible now. the fact that seakit was nearby made him feel almost at home. he could probably get used to living in the tunnel, in all honesty. but it wasn't going to be their home. it was going to be somewhere better. the brown and white tabby worked away still, his whiskers getting covered with small specks of dirt. not that this bothered evenkit. he just had to focus on the safety of everyone else, even if he was just a small kitten in a big word.

his father being by his side made it easier to process the whole ordeal. it was just unthinkable, to think of someone so new stripped from the earth already? somehow, this angered him. evenkit felt his veins flare up, swell up almost, the banks of blood ready to burst. but he kept his cool, for his father. stormglass wouldn't want him to leak the lava from his burning head now, would he? the brown and white tabby tried to distract himself, with one of his usual little speeches. "why did he have to die, father? i mean...i-i mean...he was only so small, so full of vitality, everything! he had the world at his footsteps and now it's been taken from him?" he stood, trying not to let his fur flare up. "it's cruel! unthinkable! i wouldn't stand for it. but...there's nothing i can do, is there, father?" he sat back down, looking solemn.

at peace sounded like a pretty good place to be. there was no reason for evenkit to be distressed - which explains why he wasn't. the brown and white tabby spent most of his days skipping through campus, without much of a care. obviously, when he could sneak a smart word in or two, he would - it was only natural for him, right? evenkit noticed his father alone, and he decided to be the pester his father didn't need. he wandered up to the side of the rock, being too small to really get up. oh well, he could still talk to his father from this distance. "hello father!" he chirped, olive optics full of light.

[sub]hm? what was the matter? evenkit noticed his brother toying with something that clearly none of them had ever owned before. perhaps this was the first that the clan needed. snow white paws lightly padded their way over, before inspecting what was inside the box alongside his brother. the angel white brother of his seemed to enjoy the objects, which made evenkit give an unknowing purr. when his olive eyes looked in however, he was confused. "who would need this?" he questioned. pah, books were much better in his optics anyways. whatever human stuff this was could stay out of their lives for as long as he lived. however...

evenkit lifted a paw to one of the consoles, pressing the circular lid on it, which pinged up. he chuckled to himself, and kept doing it. not to annoy anyone, but just to make fun out of something he redeemed useless. it brought a smile to his face hearing the click over and over.

evenkit had learnt that even important characters around the clan got upset sometimes. this seemed to be another one of those cases. the brown and white tabby trotted beside his father, since he didn't really know frenchcapital. it would be awkward to propose any words to her. sitting himself down, he waited for the vice leader to speak, olive eyes glancing over the wolf in a mystery that was soon to be solved.

with a dip of his head, evenkit purred. it was sad to see his brother go away. perhaps not far away, but evenkit would still miss him. after all, they were connected by blood, and they always would be. the thought of however, that blood being spilt, scared the brown and white tabby kitten. he felt his fur stand on end at the thought of his brother dying, but he soon calmed himself as he looked to his father. "safe travels." he mewed, purring and flicking his bark brown and pure white tail.

he slumped further, wanting to sink into the ground and never be seen again. if only...if only there was something he can do! he felt his small brain overworked and tired, and he closed his eyes, sealing darkness in those optics he beard. he'd seen too much - but to others he hadn't seen enough. he just couldn't face the world, not right now. tomorrow, he would be a bit better. but for now, he was stuck. stuck in a recluse of shame. "i...i suppose." he sighed, shuffling snow white paws. "i'll save someone someday. make them know it's alright. starclan can wait for their presence." evenkit muttered, not really sure what he was talking about, but taking his own words into consideration anyways.

seeing his father dig beside him spurred him to carry on digging. he worked as hard as he could, working up a sweat from trying to please the deputy. he had to, he had to! now stormglass would think evenkit was strong, and be proud of him. the brown and white tabby's fur became slightly damp, as he ran out of oxygen in the tiny tanks inside of him. taking a deep breath, he pushed through, dirt being thrown everywhere. it didn't matter. just as long as they got far.

he followed his father's orders, and put his paw back down on the redeemed safe ground. the brown and white tabby backed away, standing by his father. evenkit wondered why this stuff would be seen as entertaining, but then again...shaking his head, olive eyes glanced over the rest of the curious cats, coming to check out what the fuss was all about. there wasn't much fuss. just inanimate objects.

[sub]enjoying himself might be pushing it, stormglass. evenkit hadn't really decided what useless activity to fill his day with, and would it be too late? the thought of wasting a day scared him, making his fur stand up like pine trees, ready to brace himself. the only person however evenkit was bracing himself from, was himself. soothed at the thought that his anxiety was imaginary, he replied to his dad. "nothing, really...i'm still trying to decide what to do with one's day. i'm sure you've dealt with this problem before, no?" although, he probably hadn't. being the deputy and all, there was always something to deal with. however, stormglass sitting on the rock seemed to be his...escape. perhaps the brown and white coated kitten would copy his father some day.

hmm. perhaps letting aspenkit outside would be a bad idea, at least, at this date in time. he was rather reckless, and whilst it may seem selfish of evenkit to want him to hold back, he just didn't want to see his brother hurt. it would tear evenkit's little heart, and even at the thought of another damaged brother his hair stood up, ready to take flight. not now. the brown and white dipped tabby was quite alright staying at home. one day, he'd want to go on adventures, for sure - but that day wasn't today. so he'd let it be.

[sub]"a-aspenkit!" the paws all over his already mucky pelt came as a surprise to evenkit. he sure was a stealthy one, but since he was so distracted with the dragon, he wouldn't have seen it coming. as the barely brown and white tabby got messier and messier, he sprung up, trying to flee his brother. "that's enough, aspenkit. we have to keep an eye on this dragon for whatever child's play they'll pull next." aspenkit smearing paint over his kitten body reminded him why this situation was a bad idea. and yes, it was child's play, but evenkit did not have the mind of a child - it wasn't fun.

all well rounded, intriguing ideas. evenkit looked down and thought. thought long and hard about possibly the hardest choice he'd ever have to make in his (so far) short life. the brown and white tabby flicked his tail to the metronome in his mind. tree climbing was new, and exciting...swimming was what all cats in riverclan were meant to be good at - he was the exception...mud jumping just sounded plain messy... finally, evenkit rose his head and purred with delight as he came to a conclusion. "climbing trees sounds like a fun pastime." olive eyes looked around, at all the trees around them. there were many to chose from, and many to practice on. this would be a fun day, surely.
