    Thousands, maybe even millions, of thorns pricked her heart at the sight of the cuts along Evenkit's forearm. She didn't know why he did it, but a part of her felt responsible.     Feeling emotional already, the bobtail kitten ran up beside Eliza and looked at her brother with obvious worry, concern, and various other emotions. Why would he hurt himself? The lame excuse of falling into thorns didn't convince her at all.
