Snowpine got up with a sigh, giving up on finding out what was going on. She padded into the warm spring forest, full with the sounds of awakening creatures. A nice long hunt was just what she needed right now. She looked around camp, searching for someone to come with her. Although...maybe solitary was good for her right now.

Spacepaw glared at Duskpaw, his fur bristling. Then he boldly got up and walked over to Echopaw. "Hello." he greeted her with a sweet smile.

Snowpine padded out into the forest, drawing the spring air over her scent glands, tasting the breeze in search of any prey to bring to her Clan.

Lilykit wrinkled her nose at the frog and prodded it sceptically with one tiny paw.

Spacepaw bristled. "In case you haven't noticed, we happened to be having a conversation!" he snarled at Lightningpaw.

Spacepaw growled menacingly at Lightningpaw. No way was he going to back down!

She steeled herself, lifted the frog up in her paws, and took a tiny bite.

Lilykit saw her mother watching approvingly as she devoured the frog in slow, small bites.

Spacepaw looked down at his paws, humiliated. "Me and my big mouth!" he chastised himself. Then Spacepaw took a deep breath and waded into the river after Echopaw. "Hey." he said quietly. "Look, I'm sorry about what happened back there. I just got carried away, I guess. It's just, I really like you, and..." he trailed off, looking up at her with imploring eyes.

Snowpine heard a rustling off to her right and froze instantly. The little brown mouse worked it's way out from under the leaves, nibbling a seed. Snowpine padded forward on silent paws, and just as the mouse sniffed the air and looked up at her with frightened eyes, she lunged, killing it with a swift bite to the neck.

Spacepaw turned around slowly. "I should apologize to you, too." he said. "Let's not fight this out among ourselves. Echopaw doesn't deserve to be treated like that. She should decide, not us." Spacepaw suggested.

Spacepaw looked relieved. "It's decided then. She chooses."

OOC:// Echopaw's RPer isn't here, so we'll just have to wait.

Spacepaw looked expectantly at Echopaw.

Spacepaw tried not to let his disappointment show and hid the tears pooling in his eyes. "It's okay." he lied. "Maybe I'll see you again sometime?" he asked Echopaw, adding "as friends!" when he saw Lightningpaw's face. "Well, see ya." he said, trying to sound upbeat, before padding away slowly with his head hung low.

Lilykit finished her frog and sighed contentedly, her belly full for the first time in several moons.

Snowpine padded back to camp and dropped her catches on the fresh-kill pile, consisting of two mice, a squirrel, and a thrush. 'Not bad!' she thought. Suddenly Snowpine was distracted by the commotion around Twistedfate.

Lilykit swallowed carefully. Once you got around the sliminess, it really wasn't that bad, she decided.

Spacepaw - tom with unruly, chocolate-brown fur sprinkled with dozens of tiny white spots, soulful gray eyes.

Spacepaw hung his head mournfully. His pain and sorrow were splayed across his face as clearly as words in a book. His heart had been broken, rejected by his first love, Echopaw.

Spacepaw gazed sadly back and forth between the two cats. "My heart is broken." he said simply.
