[fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 500px; text-align: justify][size=8]It was really only a matter of time until Mikaela snapped. He had held out for a surprisingly long time, an entirety of two and a half weeks had passed since last seeing his beloved family member, and the loneliness was crushing him. Ever since he was little he had been hiding his pain for the sake of others. While he rarely thought of his parents, he knew that when he was younger he had taken every spitting insult and lashed out attack with a smile on his face, because no matter what they were his family, and if he loved them that was all he needed. He simply did not have the strength or even the will to hate them. However it had all broken apart when he had been thrown from the back of the car before his father lunged at the driver and caused the vehicle to crash and burn. He had never once hated his parents. He had never really hated anything until he met the vampires who killed his family.
It was because of Yuu that Mika had a will to live after all this pain. While he had been reluctant at first, the dark-furred boy had always offered him warmth and true love that he had never felt even in his family at the orphanage. Their love was blind, but Yuu had already been forced to see the terrors of the world and it had scared him. Yet he still was able to trust Mika. Mika had to repay him for that trust, to protect him. He lived now only for Yuu's sake. His position as a Bloodguard meant nothing to him in the vastness of things, he would dispose of it in a heartbeat if he had to without ever looking back. While it was convenient and was proof of his strength, he didn't care at all about it under the weight of his love for his family. Perhaps that was not the right mindset for a high position but he couldn't care less. Diable was just like him in his loyalty to his loved ones, yet at the same time they were vastly different. Diable could hesitate when it came to a decision between clan and family, whereas Mika would dispose of the former without even thinking about it. As long as he could protect Yuu from what was coming, he didn't care what happened to the people here, even Reiki or Juan or Diable or the others who were somewhat influential to him.
"Take this sword and place yourself in its blade," Ferid's voice rung in his head as he stared at the frigid silver sword, his clear blue gaze reflecting on its shimmering surface, "Lend it your strength and it will give you its strength in return." He twisted the blade and watched it catch a blinding light, beckoning him forward. His paws brushed against the hilt before he swooped down and snatched it in his jaws, ears flattening to his skull with determination. He pointed the blade outwards before closing his eyes and focusing on the swords cold presence. Focusing on his own soul, as weak as it was, within his body. The soul that held the powers of a monster. He snarled around the blade's hilt as he felt his own soul reverberating within his body, humming quietly and reaching out in response. It glowed faintly like a lantern and it called out to him with a soft lullaby. He gritted his teeth as he closed his eyes.
"Take my soul, my sword." His voice was rigid and cold and spoken through clenched teeth, so tight that he felt a distinct pounding in his head. Just like that, the soul he had been calling out to was shattered, ripped apart, a fragment of it forcibly being taken away and jerked from his body. Mika stumbled from the sheer pain and throbbing agony that resulted as he fell to his knees, gripping the sword tightly as he focused all of his energy on pushing that broken fragment off and into the sword. The sword accepted it greedily, and he could feel in that moment two presences, both himself and the blade in his teeth that now hummed with life, it's usually reflective surface seeming to have its own faint white light as it came alive with the presence of a soul. The sterling silver blade remained that color only briefly before a deep bloody crimson leaked outwards forming an injected swirl of red, seeming to be blood that danced along the surface among the brilliant silver. He hissed at the pain as he dropped the sword, but the link did not sever. He was one with the blade now, it had the same power as he did, it could destroy his enemies without hesitation.
"How inspiring," Ferid purred. However, this was not truly Ferid but a figment of his imagination. A creature stalked towards him but it was not the luminescent white lion that he loathed so much, instead it was a savage and rabid lupine baring its frothing teeth at him in search of a delicious meal, dragging its spittle-ridden tongue along its teeth. Mikaela took in its haggard appearance and the sword gleamed brilliantly as a threat, as a promise to destroy the filthy and pathetic starved creature before them. Mika lowered his body to the ground and stared down at the feral creature with an expression of disgust as it crept closer and closer, a horrible wet snarl bubbling in its haggard chest and causing his mouth to fill with foam of hunger. The beast parted its jaws and gave a final rumble before it lunged for Mika's throat with its filthy as fangs, but as soon as it came within reach of the Bloodguard its head was severed mercilessly from its emaciated body, blood bursting from the wound seconds later as the detached head rolled several feat away and its blood soaked body collapsed at Mika's paws, the blood pooling outwards quickly.
The sever was clean, effortlessly slicing through powerful bone as if it were mere paper. That was the surreal strength of the relentless blade now charged with powers beyond comprehension, it had the strength ten times that of before and the thick muscle and bone didn't stand a chance against it and hardly slowed the blade with Mika abruptly dropped as soon as the deed was done, his jaws parting slightly as his shadowed blue eyes locked on the blood soaked headless corpse at his paws. It was a gruesome sight but it held absolutely no look of horror on the soft blonde's face, instead he seemed absolutely enthralled by the blood that seeped into the ground at his paws and thickened deliciously as if beckoning him with the rich color and the sweet, tangibly coppery smell. He could only imagine the sensation of it pouring down his throat like so,e kind of salty syrup and before he realized it he was licking his lips and approaching slowly, his body trembling with the sheer strength of his hunger. He had been holding himself away from such a delicious fragrance for so long and just like the creature he was absolutely shaking like he was about to seize, his eyes that were usual cold and distance allowing bloodlust to leak in and make them wide and crazed. Just one taste... She could grow infinitely stronger, and he could destroy Ferid so that he could finally protect his precious Yuichiro.
In that moment it were as if electricity had been forced down his throat for the blonde boy's body went entirely rigid and his face paled as if he had seen a ghost, his teeth hovering inches from the headless corpse in preparation for sinking his blood in that delicious flesh to drain it of the tempting blood. His crazed eyes so quickly faded to their usual look, only now they were overwhelmingly bright with fear, fear of himself and the monster he had become. Had he not stopped himself or reacted a second and a half later he would have truly become the monster he feared so much, he would truly be the selfish and cruel monster that Yuu and him had been fighting for years. The monster that had killed his family. He would have been forever stained by the cruel being he was, unable to protect Yuu as he wanted to. He had tried to tell himself that by drinking blood he could finally protect Yuichiro to the best of his ability, but he knew how much of a lie that was. As a full vampire he would have been nothing but a threat to Yuu, worse than he was now. He would become a cruel and savage monster thirsting after the blood of his own family, unstoppable and vicious. He would have only hurt Yuu more.
Mikaela stumbled back and tripped over the hilt of the sword behind him, causing him to fall on his rear where he couldn't find the strength to stand up again. He let out a soft whimper that soon rose to an agonized moan as he dropped to his stomach and brought his bloodstained paws up to his head, where it throbbed painfully loudly with the beginnings of a migraine. He could hear nothing but the cold rush of blood in his ears as the same word was changed in his head like a cruel lullaby. Monster, monster, monster... monster. His eyes squeezed shut as if that could block out the sight of the mangled corpse in front of him now soaked in blood that had lost its appeal, yet his fangs still protruded from his mouth until he bit down so hard that the pain distracted him and they faded away. Fear and anger and loneliness bubbled up in him all at once as he shook his head several times, muttering under his breath the same word that echoed in his head. "M-Monster... I'm a.... mo-monster.... Y-Y-Yuu-chan..." he gasped through the waves of pain that rolled through his head and burned his throat. "A... m-m-... m-monster... I'm s-sorry...."
TL;DR Mika split a piece of his soul into his sword so it now has powers and has a floral-like design of red on the blade, he cut the head off of a rabid wolf trying to eat him and almost drank its blood before freaking out and collapsing and muttering about a monster. ...My poor Mika is loosing his mind. )))):
