after a while, a-ya stepped away from the wall. the music was a bit irritating -- all christmas songs started to sound the same, after a while -- but he did his best to tune it out. he ended up taking some eggnog, turning to let his rather eerie gaze flit around the room in search of someone to talk to. everyone already appeared to be either already in a conversation or too boring for him to consider.
