She had yet to name it, so she was just allowing it to go by Baby until she thought of something better. The child looked up as Jiyu approached, nodding towards the older ShadowClanner. "Hi. You want a book?" She said, holding one out towards Jiyu.

    [b]"Thanks," Lili said, moving forward to look the wiggling things over. She chose one out of the basket; she was as long as her arm and let out a high-pitched squeak as she picked it up. She wasn't really sure what to do with it until it climbed up onto her back and laid stretched out with its head on hers. She figured she might as well call it Baby, as long as it was a 'baby snake cat.' Then she heard something about what they were called. Ferrets, huh? Interesting. She'd probably still call hers Baby.

She seemed to have lightened up greatly at the appearance of her mother, showing a side of herself she rarely showed; the side that was actually a kit.     Lili's cries grew in pitch and volume as she felt Leo carving something into her chest. Still seized with ugly, nightmarish fears and bleeding and in excruciating pain, she knew she couldn't take this much longer. She thought maybe this was how she died... oh, good God, could this be how she died?

    Lili felt her head smack into the tree trunk and fell back onto the ground in a crumpled heap, not unconscious and still feeling everything, but fuzzy and quiet now, reduced to quiet little whimpers. She wondered vaguely if anyone would come to find her, to save her, but with the throbbing in her head and the pain radiating through her body, she couldn't find the strength to delegate whether they were or weren't coming to help her.     [b]"Yeah!" Lili said, pulling a book towards her and opening it to the most colorful page she could find. The flowers danced on the page in a brilliant hue of purples, blues, and pinks. "Here you go," she said, pushing the book towards her mother and smiling softly as Baby snuck off her usual spot on Lili's shoulders and rested below the the dragon's chin. The ferret rested against the book, somewhat on top of it, and Liliana had to push it backwards, towards her and away from the book, a fair few times before it sat still and went to sleep.

    In a brief moment of clarity, through her blurred vision, Lili flinched back, squeezing her eyes shut to avoid the knife coming at them. She could handle some branding and a few cuts were alright, but Lili really didn't want to have any eyes pulled out of their sockets right now. She thought that was reasonable, but these... creatures didn't seem too reasonable, so she supposed maybe somewhere in their *ed up heads they thought she was just a crybaby. She was, she guessed, considering she cried out again when she felt the knife digging into her back leg. But then again, she was being stabbed, and that constituted a little more than silent suffering. This wasn't fair!

    i'm sorry about inactivity recently; finals + christmas snuck up on me and kicked my ass and i haven't had a free moment since december began.


    but i'm back now, and ready to continue the plot i had made up for lili before my unexpected/unannounced hiatus.

    She was left beaten, battered, and bloody. The gash on her stomach was still oozing blood, though it had scabbed over for the most part. The brand on her chest was cauterized. Badly cauterized, but cauterized nonetheless. She was a crumpled heap just outside the main village, four-month-old body beat down and abused. She didn't have it in her to call out or try to get help. It wasn't that she wasn't strong enough, in fact she was positive that she could've attracted the attention of someone, but maybe if she didn't get help soon enough the exhaustion and her wounds combined would kill her. Wouldn't that be wonderful.


    It was the damn ferret. She'd left the thing in her house, she knew she had, before she'd gone out and gotten herself captured. Somehow, it had gotten out and found her. Maybe it was less stupid than she'd originally thought it to be. Maybe it had recognized her scent and come to investigate. It was making loud noises now, like it was trying to alert someone to Lili's presence.


    The little she-kit coughed, once, twice, three times. On the third cough, she spit out some blood, and plunked her head back against the ground among seeing it. She felt dizzy. [b][color=powderblue]Shut up... God, just shut up. She snapped at it, even though she knew full well it wouldn't understand. [color=powderblue]Don't let them know I'm here... please, don't let them know.[/fancypost][align=center]

The ferret was pushing at her face, at her shoulders, nudging insistently, and she had to restrain herself from swatting at it. It let out a noise that sounded vaguely concerned, and then laid down in the crook of her neck, curled up in a ball with its tail draped over her front paws.
