Alex nodded in agreement. “Sometimes Germany even seems a bit modest to me whenever I watch western shows. I think people are starting to not care about public displays of affection as much, though. Of course, you’re not gonna see people having a love fest on the bus like you might see in the U.S., but I guess it’s more acceptable to be able to kiss your partner or something in public,” she said, thinking back onto some of the times that her and Fynn received weird looks after giving each other a goodbye kiss after a date or a day spent together. Now, though, people would just ignore it and continue on.
“I think I may tell people I love them way too much,” Alex started. “I just think that sometimes people need to hear it and know that someone loves them. You never know if they’re going through a rough patch or something.” She had to admit, there were a couple of times whenever she fell into a depression and those three words had helped her climb her way out. It wasn’t anything dramatic, either. No one knew that she had been feeling pretty down and had been very doubtful of how everyone actually felt about her, but before hanging up from their phone calls, Adelaide and Otto would always tell her that they loved her. It was a small achievement, but definitely helped her realize that people genuinely cared about her nevertheless.
As the topic slowly transitioned over to popular sports, Hana mentioning baseball definitely caught her attention. “Y’know, I’ve never actually watched a baseball game. I’ve watched some of the kids at my family’s reunion play but I’ve never seen a professional league game. Not even on television. It seems pretty cool, though,” the blonde said. Of course, Alex could already say that she would most likely never attempt to play it because her hand-eye coordination was horrible whenever she attempted to throw or hit something. On the other hand, her foot-eye coordination was outstanding, which is why she was a forward for her high school’s soccer team, and a damn good one at that. “I remember that I was watching the U.S. vs. Japan women’s soccer match at the Olympics a few years ago and I don’t remember her name, but she was on the U.S.’s team and she took an elbow right into the nose and only touched her nose a few times to see if it was broken before she ran off down the field to try to get the ball back in possession with blood dripping right onto her kit. It was definitely iconic and I totally look up to her.” If there was one thing that Alex was completely certain about, it was that women athletes are both way more talented and badass than the men.
It was easy to say that no one had ever made Alexandra blush so much in so little time. Yet again, the Japanese woman had managed to made the blonde’s cheeks redden due to another compliment. “I wouldn’t go so far to say that,” she murmured, ducking her head whenever she felt the heat on her cheeks. She looked back up once Hana began speaking again and laughed. “Go ahead and touch it so you’ll be able to brag,” Alex said, playfully tilting her head toward the brunette, her silky blonde locks moving over her shoulder and settling around her face.
Alexandra hummed at Hana’s comment. “Even if I do, I think I’ll still prefer the view I already have.” She smiled whenever Hana laughed, her green eyes taking in the sight. It was definitely easy to say that the brunette wasn’t beautiful, even more so whenever she was smiling or laughing. Overall, she radiated joy and was so very enchanting. Though some people considered brown hair and eyes to be basic and unappealing, Alex found out the day she saw Hana that they were, in fact, the most alluring characteristics anyone could have. They definitely suit the Japanese woman, as well. Alex could already tell that she would have a difficult time keeping her compliments to herself. Hana was just too gorgeous for her to not shower her with compliments.
“Let’s go ahead and wait until later to win some bears so we don’t have to carry them with us everywhere we go,” the blonde offered. It would be easier to do everything that they wanted to do first and then on their way out, stop by a booth or the gift shop and pick up a bear. In all honesty, she preferred to win one over buying one through the point system. It would definitely be a bit more special, but if the duo was too exhausted to attempt to win one, she would certainly be walking right into the shop and cashing in her points in exchange for a teddy.
“You played baseball, hmm?” The German without a doubt had a cheesy pickup line shoot straight to the front of her mind at the opened opportunity, and one could already tell that she was ready to shoot it out. She easily leaned in closer to Hana, close enough that their shoulders were brushing together as they walked. In a hushed voice and a bright smile displayed on her face, she spoke. “Well, in other words, I hope you’re good at catching because I think I’m falling in glove with you.” Not even seconds after she had said the ridiculous line, she chuckled at her own nonsense, watching Hana and gauging what the other woman’s reaction would be while she collected herself after receiving a few looks for her loud laughter.
