Alex didn’t bother responding to Fynn’s message, simply closing his out and opening the one that she had just received from Hana. Her response was just the thumbs up emoji and a smiley face. She sent the message and exited out of her texts, pressing the button on the side of her phone to lock it. “I’m going back to sleep, Addy. Clean your dishes when you’re finished,” she said, giving the younger girl a kiss on her temple as she walked around the counter. Otto’s snoring could be heard from the sofa as she made her way passed it. Once she reached her bed, she climbed underneath the sheets, plugged her phone in and easily fell asleep whenever her head hit the pillow.

Alexandra woke to the sound of her front door opening, then the sound of Otto yelling “I’m taking Max to the park! Addy is coming with me!” Then, the sound of the door closing filled the now empty apartment. Alex rolled over, blinking numerous times to help her eyes adjust to the sudden light filling the apartment from the large windows. She stretched and then reached over to grab her freshly charged cellphone, scrolling through her notifications. Sadly, she didn’t find one from Hana.
With a yawn, she climbed out of her bed and made her way over to her dresser, pulling out a pair of loose jeans, a white button up and a tan peacoat. She easily slipped into a pair of black heels before making her way to her bathroom to brush her hair and teeth. Might as well look nice and show him what he’s missing, she thought to herself as she put a coat of mascara on her lashes and some red lipstick, one of her signature looks.
The blonde then made her way back into the living area of the apartment, grabbing her keys off of the coffee table and setting off. She couldn’t believe that after three months of telling herself that she wasn’t goign to do this ever again, here she was, on her way to meet Fynn at “their” coffee shop to talk about their “relationship”. It was only a ten minute drive to the coffee shop due to the lack of traffic this morning and Alex easily found a parking spot. Stepping out of her car, she locked it and made her way to the shop, green eyes searching the patio for Fynn. Of course, he was already at the table in the corner, “their” spot. The blonde made her way over to the empty seat across from him, not bothering to look at him directly until she was seated.
“Guten morgen, Alex,” (good morning, Alex). The blonde shook her head slightly, her brows furrowing. “Nenn mich nicht so,” (don’t call me that), she mumbled. Fynn had a sort of shocked look on his face. He always called her that whenever they were together, even before then. There was an awkward silence between the two before he spoke once again.
“Ich bereue es, mit dir schluss gemacht zu haben.” (I regret breaking up with you). Alex scoffed at the words. “You wouldn’t have done it unless that was how you were feeling,” she countered, pain from three months ago resurfacing. She watched as the brunette man fiddled with his thumbs on the table between them. “I miss you,” he said, his voice quiet and vulnerable. “No you don’t,” she murmured. “You just miss the sex. That was the only good thing that came out of that relationship. Everything else was shit,” she fired back.
Fynn’s head shot up and looked directly at her. She’d never popped off at him like that before and it was definitely shocking. “That-“ he cut himself off, sighing. It was true, and he wasn’t going to deny it. Their relationship had been terrible, but they loved each other and hoped that that would be enough for them to stop fighting. Obviously, they were wrong. “I just want you to be back in my life. It’s not the same,” he offered. Alex was quiet for a few seconds before nodding. She missed him as well, but she wasn’t going to hop back in a relationship with him as soon as he offered. “We can try to be friends.”
Fynn nodded quickly before speaking. “I’d like that.” Alex nodded, and then stood from her seat. “I have to go. I have plans,” she mumbled. As she walked by his seat, Fynn grabbed her wrist to stop her. With eyes that seemed sincere, he gazed at her. “Thank you for this,” he said before letting her go. All Ali did was nod before she set off for her car again.
As she unlocked the door and climbed inside, she picked up her phone out of the cup holder, forgetting that she had left it in there. Surprisingly, she had eleven notifications from Hana. A small smile reached her lips and a small burst of joy expanded within her chest as she unlocked her phone. She read through the messages, chuckling before typing her own.
