As Kasumi talked, Narui seemed to be listening with her full attention as she nodded, smiling brightly. She giggled at her comment on the end of the day, giving it a bit of thought as she kept walking onward, holding both of her hands behind her back and tilting her head to the side as she gave her response. "It certainly wasn't anything out of the ordinary, but then again that's how it always is with school, isn't it?"

She waited a bit after she said that, realising she was a bit vague before she continued. "I-I mean, if you think about it, it's school so one way or another, it's going to be boring. I'm still really excited though, just thinking about the possibilities... We'll be heroes soon, and we'll be fighting villains and bringing them to justice, for the helpless citizens of this world, you know?", she began to ramble, clearly too excited before she blushed.

"S-Sorry, I started going on a rant... But you get what I mean, I don't mind it being nothing special because it's the journey that matters, not the start or the destination!", she apologised before summing up, looking down at the ground quietly as she began to think about what she wanted to do coming out of U.A. as a graduate. 'To be just like mom... A Hero.' she thought to herself quietly before looking over at Kasumi again.

"I may have to insert a small exception to that rule though, because it looks like we're nearing a cafe~.", Narui chirped as she nudged her friend and pointed forward, grinning widely. "How do you like your coffee, Kasumi?", she asked right ahead as she neared her slightly, still walking toward it. It didn't feel like it was too far off of U.A., or it could have seemed that way purely because of her ranting while walking there.

Here's the thread! A small summary of the plot we agreed on.

The main duo will be traveling around Unova, however things are more different than they normally would be. Pokemon have migrated from and to Unova, making it possible to find nearly any Pokemon in the routes, cities, and the entire region in general. On top of the variety in species, Team Plasma has branched out under a new trio, similar to the Shadow Triad, with each of the new admins having locations under their command, alongside grunts.

And here's the forms we agreed to! I'll be posting my character shortly, in a different post.

Wow, this is surprisingly even more empty than I thought it'd be. Either way, I'm not 100% sure whether we'll use 'levels' to count how strong Pokemon actually are or not, so in the case we are, since it's a starter Pokemon, consider mine to be level 5.

Narui nodded at Kasumi's words, laughing until she was asked about how she liked her coffee herself. She stopped and froze, before putting on an awkward expression and beginning to laugh just as awkwardly. "W-Well... You can't call my coffee 'coffee', b-but I don't do too good with caffeine. It's kinda too bitter and whatnot, so I kind of go for the closest thing to chocolate, which is Mocha..."

She admitted shyly and fiddled with her fingers as she looked to the side. "It's fine if you mock me for it, I know it's not literally coffee... But everybody always has coffee so I can say I do too, right? I-I know how stupid that sounds, but hey, it's how I think.", she rambled on nervously, starting to rub the back of her neck at the end as she blushed. This was one of the 'darkest secrets' Narui ever had shared with somebody. And if that wasn't saying much, there isn't much more that would.

She was one of the lucky few that didn't get addicted to coffee, or drink on a daily basis because it just didn't do the trick for her- of course, it's also because she disliked its taste too, but that's secondary if anything. She was proud to at least admit that she woke up with more than enough energy for the entire day in the mornings, and that was just enough for her to be happy.

'Stop rambling so much, idiot... You'll push her away like this.', she thought to herself as her awkward smile began to turn upside down and into a frown, starting to get even more nervous as sweat drops began forming on her forehead. 'You said to stop messing up before, so stop already, stupid... Th-This is harder than you thought it'd be, isn't it...'

    I'm about to fall asleep, so feel free whenever. If you had replied ten minutes or so ago, I'd more likely still be on my PC, gah. All's good thought, bad luck on my part. ^^;

Ethan had been having a bit of a rougher time so far today; he didn't sleep too well because he was too excited and woke up by rolling out of his bed and straight onto the wooden floor of his room, face first of course. It was an important day nonetheless, so the bluehead had no choice but to prepare and be happy for it- and so he did. He put his usual attire on, before slinging his small backpack over his shoulder, having to go through it a few times beforehand to make sure everything was good to go.

And just a few minutes after Mia had arrived out of his house, he exited and looked at her with a small smile, before realizing he had forgotten to take his partner Pokemon with him. Without explaining anything for the time being, he rushed inside and back upstairs to take the Pokeball from his nightstand, before he came back to the front of the house and laughed awkwardly, throwing the Pokeball onto the ground as his Oshawott appeared. "Hey, sorry for being late. Had a rocky start, buuut now I'm ready.", he joked as he crouched and petted his partner, looking up at Mia.

OOC: Where'd you see that Evan again? I only see an Ethan around. :p

IC: Ethan could easily notice just how energetic she was, smiling at the sight but then again, he knew just what she was capable of when she was this energetic. He quietly looked through his bag one last time as she asked, before smiling and nodding. "I'm good. So wait, just a question...", he said and laughed awkwardly before he tilted his head and asked her, as he scratched the back of his head with one hand, slinging his bag over his shoulder with the other. "Since we have no Pokedex, how do we know about new Pokemon we come across..?"

Ki just stayed quiet and eventually moved away from him as Ethan stood back up properly and looked at Mia confused. His curious Oshawott approached Yew, taking its shell off of its chest and holding it in front of the Snivy, chirping happily as he swung it left and right, hopping on each of his feet to emphasise its movements. If anything, it seemed to be cheerful and in the same mood as Mia, judging by its small dance- unlike Ethan at least. "Osha, osha!", it kept on chirping as its tail swung left and right behind it, earning Ethan's attention in the form of another confused look. "H-How are you all so energetic...", he thought to himself as he waited for an answer.

OOC: It's alright, just messing with you. :p

IC: Ethan nodded at his friend, taking a deep breath before he murmured lowly to himself. "Just hearing school makes me shiver on the inside...". He stood there for a bit, looking at her wave her hand nonchalantly as he asked, rubbing his right eye. "If you're this excited, are you sure you even got sleep in the first place?", he stretched after having asked that, looking down at the two Pokemon who seemed to be having a jolly fun time with one another. "... I guess I should cheer up too, it's the start of a horrible day, but a good adventure...", he thought as he chuckled, trying to get in the same mood as the others.

Ki only seemed to get even happier when it saw the Snivy start swaying its tail playfully, chirping until eventually its shell slipped from its grip and fell onto the ground, not even half a meter away. Of course, that caused it to freak out as it quickly picked it up and wiped it frantically, managing to clean it and then fixing it again on its chest. Not wanting to risk its shell any longer, he quietly looked at Yew and sat down, staring quietly whilst his tail kept on swinging left and right, causing small clouds of dust to appear behind it. "... Osha?", Ki said curiously with a tilt of its head, its eyes pinned on the Snivy's collar.

Ethan opened his mouth to ask yet another question, abruptly cut off by her suddenly starting to walk away, yelping out of surprise as he stood still for a second, worrying about every tiny thing. In the meanwhile, Ki was looking at Yew's collar happily, nodding as she explained on and on, before he saw Mia start walking off. Once Ethan was out of it and Ki was walking towards Yew to touch her collar, Ethan quickly picked his Oshawott up in a hug and held it close to his chest as his Pokemon protested, squirming in his grip. Yew could be certain Ki would try again one way or another, in the near future.

Ethan caught up behind Mia as he forced a smile onto his face, panting slightly as he tried to cheer the two on. "Y-Yeah, let's get to the Trainer School hopefully before dusk..!", he said in clearly a worried voice, though he did his best to sound happy, at the time... even if he didn't do a good job at it, at least. "O-On an even better note, I think that our Pokemon are getting along well..! What did you end up naming your Snivy?", he asked her curiously as he petted Ki's head. "I named this little fellow Ki.", he then explained, as the Oshawott followed up with a happy "Osha!"

As Ethan heard her response, he nodded and, as he had already proven to have this bad habit several times, he was about to ask another question, opening his mouth to ask before cruel fate made him trip. Thankfully, Ki could get out of his grip before getting crushed right under him, resulting in just Ethan dropping on the pavement and hitting his head, yelping. "Say, how di- OUCH!", he groaned as he stayed on all fours for a bit before getting up, rubbing his forehead as a small bump was visible, and puffing his cheeks. "F-Fine, no more questions then...", he thought to himself as he let out a sigh.

He coughed to clear his throat shortly after that, hoping he didn't hold them back too long with his little accident as he started to walk forward yet again, keeping his hand over the bump. "I think this is fated to be a bad day...", he grumbled and looked over at Mia, eyeing Yew for a bit before he sighed again. In general, a reoccuring thing with this fellow were the accidents- every time he kept dragging on and on with his negativity, you can guess what happened. Ki followed behind Ethan again, jumping at his left leg to hug it as he latched onto it, quietly climbing until it could grab onto his belt and hang from there, chirping. At least it seemed to be having lots of fun, if anything.

Ethan quietly listened to what Mia had to say, staying quiet until she was over and frowning, before he gave her a nod. "Realistically, one way or another, it is pretty great, sure...", he said as he slowed down his walking, taking a deep breath before he rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly. He stayed quiet for a bit, as the two were beginning to see the edge of the town just a few minutes after, and the start of the first Route to their journey. "Hey, Mia. Look!", he told her, actually sounding excited this one as he grinned and pointed up ahead.

"I checked the map yesterday before falling asleep, and apparently, the first Route is pretty short. The next few are much longer though.", he continued before shrugging, giving her a look to see if she had anything to add to that. In the meanwhile, Ki had managed to pull itself even further up from Ethan's belt, though it was trouble keeping a steady grip. And so, it was pretty quick to slide back down and return to its previous place, sighing as it did and stares at Yew in awe. "O-Osha...", it gasped lowly as its eyes gleamed. By this point, the two were closer to the outskirts of the town more than anything- just a few more steps would mark the start of their adventure throughout the region!

Ethan was following his friend in a rush, in attempts to not stay any further behind as he did his best to stay right by her. As they did, he quietly looked around and nodded at her statement, before reflecting back to yesterday again. "About that, I looked at what information was available on that too... Apparently, waves of Pokemon from other regions have been migrating all the way to Alola, including Unova, meaning that the species pool should be far richer for our adventure..!", he exclaimed as he finally sounded genuinely excited for once, sharing Mia's grin by now.

Ki was doing his best to keep on hanging in the meanwhile, quietly noticing what Yew was doing and feelings it eyes tearing up, as it used its veins as footholds and chirped. Ethan knew well what the two were up to, but he had decided it'd be better to let them bond- if he wasn't too busy being happy to pay attention instead. "Osha, osha!", Ki happily exclaimed as he clapped his hands together, getting a better grip on Ethan afterward as he kept on using the Snivy's vines as footholds.

Ki was happily accepting the Snivy's help as he made his way to his trainer's shoulder, hugging the side of his head which resulted in Ethan having a bit more trouble looking around, as he now had to turn his head to the right. The boy quietly patted the top of his Pokemon's head as he looked over at Mia, furrowing his eyebrows slightly. "H-Hey, I know this breaks the rules of no questions, but... You actually had looked into Pokemon you like that much?", he asked her before turning back in front of him to make sure he wouldn't trip or anything of the like, as suddenly, a shadow dashed right through the path and in front of them, almost in an instant.

With that, Ethan jumped back in his surprise, as the shadow disappeared back into the path's side, causing him to gulp. "What even was that..?", he mumbled to himself before turning over to Mia as Ki was warily looking around, in an attempt to spot what was presumably a Pokemon just now. "Hey, you saw that too, didn't you? C-Could you tell its shape at all?", he continued with his endless barrage of questions, knowing deep inside just how unlucky the day would keep on being for that very reason... He seemed slightly tensed up, as he had clenched both of his fists tightly, looking around to not get startled this time.

Ethan squeaked upon seeing her start running over, quickly picking Ki off of his shoulder and holding him tightly in a hug as Ki cried out in response, enjoying the warmth however. He looked around confused before steeling his courage and beginning to run off right behind her, keeping an eye on her Snivy before he glanced at both of their partners. "H-Hey! Both of our Pokemon barely know how to battle, if they even know any moves at all! What are we going to do, Tackle it all the way?!", he asked her worriedly as he followed right behind, the pair having run for a fair bit.

The shadow of the Pokemon was nowhere to be seen, until it dashed right past Mia, revealing what seemed to be gray fur, and bead-like pink eyes with purple irises. For the few seconds she could take a look at it, it didn't seem that big, actually. It was maybe even smaller than both Yew and Ki. Once it was out of sight though, all that could be heard were bushes rustling, one after the other; and all of them were connected, of course. Ethan groaned and started to chase the trail of rustling bushes, until eventually, before he could even move that far away, an Espurr jumped out of them and looked at the two, seeming confused itself. "H-Hey, that's gotta be it..! It's... Was that really it?", he asked as he glanced over at her, scratching the back of his head with one hand.

Ki looked at Espurr, smiling before it noticed how Yew was acting, slipping out of Ethan's grip as he said nervously. "K-Ki, hey!". It wasn't long before Ki was standing right next to Yew, grinning with its eyes gleaming... and then it realised its shell had dropped a bit further behind, frantically running over and picking it up, fixing it back on its chest as it walked up to the grass type and let out a sigh, plopping down on the ground as it sat silently and watched. "Osha..."

Ethan walked over and picked his Pokemon up, before sitting down a bit further from the other two to avoid getting caught in the crossfire as he looked over at Mia. "Don't stress Yew, alright..? We don't want to put either party in dan-... Wait, are you planning on catching it?", he suddenly perked up as the Espurr looked at them, staying silent for a bit before it took on what looked like a more defensive stance, curling its tiny hands in wards before stretching them out again, holding its right one further from its body as tiny claws could be seen. It let out a low purr, crouching a bit, watching warily. "Prr..."

Ethan nodded at her quietly, not seeming all that confident, unlike her. Sure, she could be serious about this, but he had never seen an Espurr before, causing him to be unsure of just how easy or hard this battle will be. His partner on the other hand held its arms around Ethan's, watching intently as it already kept its mouth open in awe from Yew's basic combo, cheering on as it threw its hand in the air. "Wott, osha~!", it then looked at Espurr.

The wild Espurr seemed to take an even more defensive stance as Leer worked on it, surprised and even intimidated as it saw the opposing Snivy charge right in, taking the hit and letting out a cry as it got knocked back, even flipping once before it landed with its tiny legs, digging them into the ground to stop itself from flying any further back. It already seemed tired, but still ran right in faster than Yew could notice, using Scratch to hit its side as it slid behind the grass type after its counterattack, panting weakly. "P-Prr... Es..."
