    And suddenly, just when the small kitten was convinced that this was how the world was to be - cold and motherless - the warm presence was there again. A warm presence, anyway. Something inside her told her that this was not the same person that was here earlier. But for now, that more than okay for Moonlitkit. Her pathetic mewls subsided somewhat when Blazeheart's tongue rolled over her back, soothing her and cleaning away some of the birthing slime.


    She nuzzled Blazeheart's stomach, appreciating the warmth that accompanied this stranger. She was still hungry, but the smell of milk was nowhere to be found in her small nostrils. Everything was okay now. She was safe. It was soothing to be back in the crook of someone's pelt again, even if the scent was all wrong. She opened her maw and sneezed, the soft wind having snaked its way up her nostrils, before settling back down next to Blazeheart.
