The question, from Avriel's side anyway, was quite unexpected. He had only really come here to watch, maybe pick up a thing or two - but definitely not to himself spar. The solid-furred feline hesitated. He didn't want to be rude, but he also didn't want to look like a fool up there when everyone saw how non-battle-ready he was. But... he could hope that their attention would be elsewhere, on a different fighting pair.

Getting to his paws, Avriel nodded to Midnightskies. "Sure, I'll spar. Can't guarantee I'll last very long against you, but I'll still try!" He adopted a cheerful smile, unsheathing his claws and lowering himself closer to the ground. That was how you started, right? In a defensive position? Avriel tuned out everyone else as soon as he saw Winston's muscles tense, a wary haze falling over his bright yellow eyes. Whoo, it was time to fight! Or to try, at least. He wasn't really the best at fighting - matters of the tongue was where he excelled for the majority of the time. Stumbling awkwardly out of the way as the other male rushed him, Avriel made a slow attempt to recover but was too late to turn. Midnightskies successfully tugged his hind-legs out from under him and he was thrown to the ground with the sudden lack of support from his back end.
