She knew not was behind the door, hidden in the shadows. Nor did she care, for that matter - she would cross that bridge when she came to it. It would undoubtedly be better than the danger that hurried along at the rear of the group.

This particular spilt run had brought them reluctantly scavenging in a large town that happened to be quite a way from camp. Unfortunately for the small group, in the seemingly desolate town, sound carried quickly, and a large hoard of walkers - which they frankly should have seen coming - had been the ones to discover them.

When Rae reached the door first, her body slammed into it hard, and she hurried into the building ushering loudly for the others to follow.[/fancypost]

After all, she had been dragging her newly found supplies towards camp for almost an entire day - boy, would Cain be happy to see her roll up to camp loaded with food and ammo. He had better be goddamn grateful. She'd nearly lost her fucking head getting them.

Brittle twigs cracked surprisingly quietly underfoot as she wondered through the trees towards camp. Looking at the clumsy teenager, you'd think she had been beaten to near death. Actually, the clumsy girl had fallen down a flight of stairs into the arms of a hungry walker. Apart from her obvious survival, the only result has been a split forehead and a large bloody tear in the shoulder of her hoodie.

Rae froze when she caught sight of an oddly human shape leaning against one of the more sheltering trees. Upon closer inspection she recognised it as human... Probably not turned, what with the way he grimaced as his hands found the bloody bullet hole he seemed to have acquired.

She liked him already. He was a wounded, and badly, but he wasn't dead and he was certainly not a walker.

When the boy asked about her own condition, Rae was, at first, confused, as if she'd almost forgotten about the gash in her left shoulder. When she realised what he was referring to her face broke into a grin. "Oh, this?" She indicated to the wound with her left hand, narrowly missing the wound with the gun she held there, "Nah, it's nothing, really. Just a scratch. Don't worry, I'm clean. Name's Rae, by the way."

Rae had never been much of a conversationalist herself. She was outgoing and loud to the point of aggressiveness, but always wound up saying the wrong thing, not to mention her... Colorful vocabulary.[/fancypost]

Rae could be a pessimist. A sarcastic little shit, but she still laughed. Probably because she spent most of her time around her comrades in the camp; God knew how long Clayton had been by himself. The months she had spent on her own had been bad enough.

Perfectly capable of laughing herself, the teenager let out a loud boyish laugh, "Normally," She began, "I wouldn't hesitate before finishing you off, Limey. Lucky for you I'm the best scout within a thousand miles." Admittedly she was, to be fair, very proud of the supplies she'd managed to collect. So much that she could barely carry it all, in fact.

She almost laughed again when he asked her about her situation in terms of companionship. Surely he didn't think a kid of her size and stature was surviving whilst lugging around the supplies she currently had in her possession?

"Nah," She scoffed, shrugging her shoulders, "Gor a camp right about..." She spun on the spot as if abandoning her own navigation skills, before pointing her finger North, "Thataway."[/fancypost]
