hole in my soul, don't know how to fill it up

Gabriel had been an ambassador before, so of course, he would know about the benefits of that structure in alliances. Aleksei would give a nod of agreement. "I will be mentioning that in our next meeting," he answered the deputy. "And events--maybe we can task the paladin and paladin trainees to manage one for each group? Or would that be too many?"

Persephone spoke about traditions next and he would tilt his head slightly as he thought about it. "I remember hearing talk about house-warming parties for newcomers moving into empty cottages. Perhaps we could use that as one," Aleksei added. Lucas was another voice offering ideas and he would turn to the young tom next. "Yes, something small for each life event. Maybe one at apprenticeship, one at warriorhood, one at mentoring an apprentice, along with others...?"

"I wish the weather would make up its fucking mind," Aleksei grumbled irritably as he snugged his waterproof windbreaker around him. The city's attitude was volatile and they had expected a nice clear day in the morning until the sky opened up in the late afternoon and drenched the streets. Thankfully, he was prepared in his choice of wear.

He made his way down the sidewalk to the little bar that was their destination. Pushing open the door, he gestured for Miles to get his cute butt inside.

// ah sorry if i didn't make it clear, it's a human au!

Hearing Lucas' warning, he turned away slightly to see who it was. "Hey, Lucas," he greeted the boy, faint amusement in his voice, as he heard the following question. Mayonnaise on burgers was a controversial topic for some, but Aleksei liked that combination. It provided a nice creaminess that helped meld the meat and bun together. Same reason why he liked avocado on burgers sometimes. It didn't take too long for him to answer, "Yes, I do."

Percy was next to arrive and Aleksei frowned slightly at her inquiry. Where had she gotten that misinformation about the magical condiment from? Had Persephone been brainwashed by the anti-mayonnaise brigade? "No, it's made from egg yolk, oil, and lemon juice or vinegar," Aleksei corrected.

    // no worries, echo!

The Thunderlands leader was quick to arrive and Aleksei would nod his head in greeting, standing by Kady. "Thanks for seeing us, Nymeria," he began. "When Regis and I agreed on peace between the Thunderlands and BlizzardClan, it was on the condition that he would reinstate the exile on Feliks for murdering a BlizzardClanner and breaking the neutrality in the first place. When you became leader, you agreed to uphold these terms as well. Recently, I've learned that the murderer is back in the Thunderlands. Is there a reason that the Thunderlands has broken our trust?"

"Yes, I'm here," he stated as he approached the wolf. The dragon would stay quiet as he considered Canoris' proposals. It was certainly a lot to handle--Grayskies given the sole medic position after the disappearance of Melchior and Kebechet and Canoris asking to move to the deputy rank. However, Aleksei didn't find himself too surprised by some of Canoris' words, knowing what she was like. The wolf was a warrior and it was only blindness that veered her to medicine.

"I can inform Grayskies in the next meeting," he answered. There was a moment of consideration before he continued, "If that is the case, then I would like you to move to the paladin commander position--handling the medic trainee team is similar to handling the paladin team, just with different duties. In due time and effort, you can easily step up to deputy should you handle these new responsibilities well."

There was a small snort of amusement from Aleksei has he heard Persephone's comment. "Are you sure about that? There's plenty of rarer sights to see," he offered back. However, at her next suggestion, he almost stuttered in his step. Come mid-summer, it would be a year since BlizzardClan arrived on Agrelos. Time certainly did fly.

"It was similar," he answered, almost a bit wistfully. "Islands, similar...environment. We had a floating staircase instead of boats." The boats were honestly an improvement, since trudging up and down the stairs was a chore in itself.

"Fourthwall," he stated as he stood by Kady, giving the Solaris Kingdom leader a curt nod of greeting. "Because of your past indecent relationship with a BloodClan child, BlizzardClan will be dropping the Solaris Kingdom to neutral." The fact that Fourthwall made excuses about that incident and was unrepentant only strengthened Aleksei's opinion that Fourthwall was still a danger to children and he did not want to put BlizzardClanners at risk.

The tour was done and the families dispersed to attend to their own machinations. There were some mutterings of rain on the wind, but the clear sky and almost unseasonable heat suggested otherwise. That didn't stop Aleksei from insisting he take an umbrella, just in case, the sky opened up while they were tramping around on campus. Better to be prepared, Aleksei had mused, when the storm clouds lingering by the horizon had clouded over and it had begun to rain.

It was a real downpour. Aleksei would attempt to grab onto Monroe's arm and guide him to the cover provided by the eaves of a library building. "So, what did you think of the school so far? Outside of the weather, of course" he inquired with a half smirk on his face.

    MONROE.

"Mhmm," came his short, nonverbal response to Monroe's comment. From his time working in the Ministry, he'd discovered quite a lot of small and relatively unknown fields of magic that were fascinating. It was unfortunate he didn't have the time (and maybe the patience) to study them. What he had was enough for him and he was happy with it.

When Monroe asked his question, Aleksei couldn't help but frown slightly, his brows drawing together as he turned to look at his son. "Probably not," he answered back. The thought of something prying around his head still disturbed him.

"Loveletter," Aleksei answered in greeting at the sight of the tiger. "Feel free to come along." If it could let Loveletter's mind rest easy, Aleksei's opinions of him hadn't changed because of the flour incident.

As Monroe shot back at Persephone, Aleksei was reminded of his younger self's petty remarks towards others. He attempted to give his son a gentle nudge to remind him to play nice before he answered them. "I'm don't know, honestly. And one of those spots, maybe," he mused before he continued with a small huff of amusement, "Boats are safer than climbing up steps suspended in air. Less tedious, too."

Aleksei gave a small nod in return towards Canoris at her assent. "We should talk to Gray privately before the meeting," he added before he addressed her next suggestion. "I like the idea--it is indeed different, but as long as everyone is respectful, it should be good. As for which groups... perhaps we could invite our newer allies? There are only troubles with the Thunderlands right now, so until that is handled, anyone except them would be fine with me."
