[align=center][fancypost borderwidth=0px;][justify][size=8]Sam had been counting down the days until Josh finally moved to WindClan, and the more nervous she got about the arrival of her old friend, the more she began to tirelessly pace the territory. She wouldn't go as far to say that she wandered the outskirts of the territory, considering she was still incredibly hesitant to wander too far from what was now her stability, but she had gained the confidence to move past the crumbling city to circle the imaginary line where the forest met the decrepit metropolis. Sam was once again trotting along the forest line, humming an orchestral bit she had heard long ago that was once more making rounds in her thoughts as her hazel eyes lazily followed the leaves scattered across the road as they danced upon being pushed by a breeze. Her red scarf was wrapped around her neck rather tightly in comparison to other days in an attempt to combat cold winds, and occasionally the lioness would accidentally trip over one of the loose ends. Just Sam's luck, the scarf was beginning to pull loose when her paw wound around and as soon as she took another step, the scarf tightened around her throat to the point where the lioness wretched, tugging harshly at it to loosen it's grip around her neck. "Damn it." She breathed out, pausing her walk to catch her breath after what had nearly scared the sense out of her.

[align=center][fancypost borderwidth=0px;][justify][size=8]Peeling the crimson fabric off from around her neck, a small string of curse words quietly slewed out from her maw by slurred together in an almost unintelligible manner. Once the scarf was splayed out across the ground, the lioness plopped herself into a seated position as a familiar voice reached her ears. Sam's rather upset frown morphed into a small smile as Camerakit stumbled over, noticing how tired the female seemed as she approached. Had she ran over? A breathy, soft laugh slipped from between her maw at the thought. That was sweet. "Oh, sorry about that." The lioness apologized as she realized that Camerakit hadn't reacted too well to her cursing. Sam was relatively good with children, but that didn't mean she had a history with them: she spent most of her time around loudmouthed individuals whose main form of communication typically consisted of dirty jokes, curses, and even dad jokes in Chris' case. She wasn't used to having to bite her tongue when she was upset- the only time she necessarily censored herself more than usual was when Josh was having one of his 'off' days.

Small ears flicking back at the question of what was wrong, Sam's small smile broadened into a grin as her hazel optics fixed on Camerakit, giving a small shrug. "I'm fine, Cam. Thanks." She rumbled warmly, lifting a paw to idly toy with the scarf that now lay haphazardly on the ground before her. She now knew that the scarf was of no threat to her, but that didn't mean she was overly pleased with accidentally choking herself- not that she'd ever mention she was actually scared for a moment. The habit of fiercely denying fear had been hammered into her ever since her friends used to take advantage of whatever spooked her. "I just stepped on my scarf; it tightened quite a bit and it startled me." It wasn't a lie considering how honest she was, but it was certainly a watered down version of the truth. Again, she wouldn't admit out loud that it had scared her. "What are you doing out here, anyways?" The lioness questioned lightly, briefly flicking her gaze toward the woods nearby. Sam found it hard to believe Cam was looking for anyone like she was.

    [align=center][fancypost borderwidth=0px;][justify][size=8]"Josh!"

Her Clanmates weren't the only ones being fooled by Josh, although she had no idea that she was more or less apart of the rouse as well. Josh's intentions were quite different, however- he was genuinely trying to hide himself from other WindClanners, but during his reunion of Sam, he really believed he was in possession of both identities. The feline's stumble over his name didn't go unnoticed by Sam, although it was easily played off- he seemed to have a stutter as it was, and Sam sent a sort of warning glance toward Fireflyspark as she passed the male, unsure how Josh would take it: it was hard to judge how he handled things at times, considering he had his days where he could laugh anything off and other days where things went straight to his heart. Or maybe some days he was just better at hiding the latter. Sam didn't let her thoughts linger long on the subject as the lioness pushed her wait through the small cluster of her Clanmates, moving swiftly toward the feline.

He had changed forms again it seemed, but this time Sam said nothing and only let Josh know her acknowledgement of it by a small nod and a small smile that almost seemed forced. She knew better then to question it- the last time she'd brought it up, it'd been a bit of a sore spot for Josh, and there was no way she'd subject Josh to having to go through those emotions in front of a crowd of unfamiliar faces. After lingering back for a bit, the lioness moved forward to pull Josh into a loose hug, considerably more lax then the first time she had nearly squeezed the air out of him like a greedy child with a go-gurt. "You made it safe." There wasn't so much the fear that he wouldn't come like he had promised, but rather she feared that something would happen to him on his way over. Sam had already lost Hannah and Beth by not going after them, there was no way she'd be able to cope also losing Josh because she hadn't escorted him back to WindClan immediately.

A small smile spread across her maw at the pure scent he had, no longer with the thick aroma of BoneClan: the small amount of hesitance she had that he wouldn't be welcomed dissipated as Jonathan welcomed Josh, her smile spreading into a grin as her rope-like tail lashed behind her, the tuft dragging through the dirt like a paintbrush. Releasing Josh from her hug, the lioness took a seat near him nonetheless, fixing her gaze on Fireflyspark instead, giving a small nod of her head. "We lived together." She answered, pursing her lips briefly when she realized exactly how that sounded. "With the rest of our friends, up on a mountain." That was vague enough to cover their situation without having to mention the disappearance and likely the death of Josh's siblings. Besides, it left enough room for Josh to add any input he might have desired: Josh used to be quite the boy for storytelling, be it listening to stories or telling them, although with recent events she wasn't so sure if he was still as talkative and imaginative as he once was.

[align=center][fancypost borderwidth=0px;][justify][size=8]Sam could have sworn she just saw Josh, safe and unharmed, and- temporarily, at least- safe from the dark recess of his mind. His original form- at least, what she considered Josh's original form- was something that the lioness didn't even bother to question as she approached, the tone of his voice alone causing a concerned scowl to knit her eyebrows together as she trotted over with her held held slightly higher than normal to sniff for anything wrong with the male. "Josh?" The Honorguard questioned as she came up alongside Jax, briefly pausing alongside the African Wild Dog as her hazel gaze fixed unblinkingly on Josh. Jax's question almost made Sam's fur bristle, although she managed to suppress the intimidating urge considering she didn't want to start any confrontation. "He joined when I did, Jax. You weren't there." She commented in a brisk manner, much more interested in returning her attention to the hungover cougar instead of wasting time trying to convince Jax that Josh was fine being welcomed back into WindClan. His concerns were justified, indeed, but it didn't make the lioness any more anxious at the moment.

He had been drunk, amongst God knows what else, and it was written blatantly in his heavy eyes alone. She spent a few more seconds hesitating alongside Jax before finally moving forward to stand in front of Josh with what only felt like a hair's distance between them, as her breathing turned ragged upon the sight of Josh when he was clearly not alright. What had happened? She swore she saw him, Sam swore he was fine- his relapses didn't happen that quickly, did they? God, what other important details had Sam missed about the man she held so close to her heart? "What happened to you, Josh?" She knew better than to phrase that question as "what did you do to yourself"; even if it was the male's own undoing that had caused his predicament, she refused to allow him to believe he was at fault for all the wrongdoings happening around him. Josh was like a chain, only as strong as his weakest link, and if he blamed himself for one thing it wouldn't take him long to spiral down and collect more problems like that of a fucked up snowball effect.

After a few seconds more of hesitation from the female, she presented him with a thin smile that was becoming all too common whenever she was stressed out about something. Her form of a false smile, really, although she'd never be able to completely hide herself from Josh. She knew he needed help, especially after the death of his sisters, but Sam had thought that he was doing well: she was sorely mistaken, it seemed, as Sam hadn't seen Josh quite like this in a long while. Closing the distance between them, Sam settled the majority of her weight on her back legs as she lifted her forelimbs to wrap around the cougar's neck and pull him in for a tight hug. Sam liked hugging this body more then what she perceived to be his housecat bodies, she noted dully as she moved to rest her head comfortably atop Josh's own cranium, her smile not quite fading but growing softer as she casted a sideways glance toward Jax that was almost apologetic in its mannerism. She was sure the last thing he wanted to see was a tender moment, but there was no way in Hell Sam was going to put off assisting her friend. "Don't leave again, alright? I worry about you." She wouldn't blatantly mention that she was fearful of him offing himself, either directly or indirectly, but she figured that her words alone were vague enough to encompass that amongst other fears she had concerning the wellbeing of the mentally unstable cougar.

[align=center][fancypost borderwidth=0px;][justify][size=8]Directly after the 'incident', it was incredibly easy to be angry Emily, Jess, and Mike at the wrongdoings that had more or less caused Hannah and Beth to run off to their deaths. It was so easy to fall to the mercy of blaming someone else for your own lack of effort- Sam could have encouraged them to go as well instead of taking the moment to pop off a sharp comment at Mike. Sam's anger that she harbored toward Emily and Jessica were quickly a thing of the past upon their group breaking up, however: how could she be angry at someone that was very likely dead? That thought rested even heavier on her shoulders, and during her conversation with Ashley long ago, she had come to the realization that she even missed some of the typically undesirable traits from her friends. Emily and her snake tongue, Jess and her conniving pranks, Matt and his passive aggressive comments- God, she never realized she missed the mellow drama between them all until it was completely ripped away from her and she was forced to start a new life entirely in WindClan, desperately grasping at the thin ribbons that remained of the life she had once led.

A familiar voice had reached her ears first, and at first Sam couldn't believe it: and in fact, the lioness didn't believe it was Emily looking for them. She had paused at first to catch a rough murmur of Emily's words, unable to completely dissect them but still able to pull the broad jest out of them, although it was Maelstrom's voice that signified there actually was someone there. Eyebrows knitting together in a confused frown, the lioness emerged from the underbrush with a bit of effort to fight through the tangle of branches as her hazel optics carefully observed the scene before her. Maelstrom questioning... Emily? Sam's scowl was almost immediately replaced with a surprised look as she briskly came up alongside Maelstrom, casting a sideways glance toward the wolf to make sure he was alright. Emily was known to be rather brutual with her words, and Sam really hoped Emily hadn't already tore into Maelstrom- she was rather concerned for him, and at times she wondered how he managed to make it as far as he had considering under any sort of pressure he quaked like a leaf, it seemed.

After lingering alongside Maelstrom, Sam's attention finally returned to the rather unhappy snow leopard, and a smile stretched wide across Sam's maw. That was a familiar expression, for sure- one she didn't know she missed until she saw it again. "Emily?" The lioness questioned as she took a step forward, almost as if she was expecting the leopardess to vanish before her eyes. Sam knew that Emily wasn't big on personal contact- at least, unless she was dating the person touching her- but there was no way in Hell Sam wasn't going to be touchy with her friend that was alive, and unharmed, and here. "Holy shit, Em! We were worried about you, are you alright?" Sam spoke briskly, moving forward to bump her head against Emily, deciding that pulling the snow leopard into a hug as she had done with Josh- both of them, apparently- likely wasn't the best course of action so long as there was a spectator. Emily had a reputation to preserve, Sam was sure, even if underneath that tough shell Sam knew Emily cared since she had sought them out.

Flicking her gaze toward Maelstrom as she was reminded of his presence, she flashed the wolf a reassuring smile. So far it seemed that Emily hadn't been verbally abusive to the wolf, which was a good thing: Emily was smart, but it wasn't too uncommon for her tongue to work faster than her head and the last thing Sam needed was for Em to be barred acceptance because of her sharp tongue. "Maelstrom, this is Emily. She lived with us on the mountain as well." She turned to flash a smile at Emily as she settled down alongside the snow leopard, tossing her head gently in Maelstrom's direction. "Emily, this is Maelstrom: a new friend from WindClan." So far, so good. But God, how would Camerakit react to Emily? The young child wasn't fond of cursing and when Emily was full of piss and vinegar, she was a water fountain of curses and insults.

The weather? What a shitty excuse, although Sam supposed that if they saw right through the lie, perhaps that was better- they'd realize that they had no desire to talk to anyone about what had happened. At least, not talk to anyone that wasn't there. "Uh, mhm, the weather." The lioness confirmed with a nod after a pause, shifting her gaze between Jailbreak and Jax as they spoke. She was completely unaware of their history together, but she knew the Josh part of Jailbreak well enough to know that something was wrong. She didn't exactly come to any meaningful conclusions, however, and quickly shrugged it off as him likely being uncomfortable being surrounded by so many others. Besides, he likely wouldn't want it to be brought up, let alone with an audience. She was more interested in seeing how her Clanmates took to 'Josh' anyways, considering for a while she had been particularly worried about a certain few not taking a liking to him. She didn't expect them all to be friends, but she didn't want him to start off with any enemies either.

When another voice reached her ears, Sam could have sworn she was hallucinating until Josh appeared, looking rather... well, attacked. Sam's eyebrows knitted together tightly in a frown of confusion as her gaze skipped over Josh to land on Jailbreak, rising to her paws upon Jax's words of "there's enough Sam to go around" with narrowed hazel eyes. What did they take her for, a conniving prostitute? Sam was about to comment on Jax's word choice when Josh slung a forelimb around her, and while the gesture she didn't mind, the words that accompanied it burned her ears. "She's mine." What? No, no- that was far too close as to what caused Jessica to prank Hannah. God, if Josh hadn't have been passed out drunk she knew he would have never made the comment, and Sam didn't have the heart to mention the connection. "Mike's my man." The words rang in her ears in an unsettling manner, and her stomach churned at the thought of Hannah's last experience with them all. Sam gave a gentle shrug as a small persuasion to get Josh to let go of her, but she didn't fully pull away.

"Haha Josh, very funny." The lioness commented wryly, flicking her gaze irritatedly between the cougar and the feline. ""Let's mess with Sam by having two of me!" Seriously?" Sam wanted so desperately for her conviction to be true- it had to be true. The Josh next to her was the one she had properly known for so long, but Jailbreak- she had considered him to be the same Josh. He knew, he knew what had happened and how it happened and everything inbetween. This had to have been one of Josh's half-baked pranks, right?

Camerakit's reaction to the question Sam had presented didn't go unnoticed by the lioness, and she quirked a nonexistent eyebrow curiously at the female as a gentle smile spread across her maw. Sam's eyes rolled in a playful manner when Camerakit vaguely answered her question at last, and Sam decided not to pry for too much details: it was clear she was trying to hide something about the issue. "Boy troubles?" She teased gently. It was little more than a guess, but an educated one nonetheless based off of her reactions. "Don't sweat it, Cam: that makes two of us." She doubted Cam's situation was as confusing as her own was, which was bittersweet in it's own mannerism: there was no wall of ignorance to hide behind. Deciding she wouldn't press the issue any more than she already had in case Camerakit was indeed uncomfortable about the subject, Sam instead gave a gentle shrug of her shoulders to signify she was done with the topic.

"I heard about two Joshes." Shit, even Camerakit had heard of that: Sam really wasn't a big fan of public drama. She was no Emily, she didn't want attention drawn to any sort of argument she was in- let alone one that more or less portrayed her as some tramp that had tricked two men out of knowing each other's existence, like a cheating spouse. Sam's lips pressed into a thin line as she gave a curt nod as an answer toward Camerakit's question, hazel optics flicking over the female in search of any sort of reaction. Sam wasn't a self-conscious girl, necessarily, but she didn't want to lose one of the only level-headed friends she had left. Emily was no help considering she'd rather tell all of them to fuck off, and both "Josh"es were too busy feeling threatened by each other to be any sort of voice of reason. "Uh, yeah... That's something." Sam responded in an almost stiff tone, taking her gaze off of Camerakit to briefly scan around them to make sure they were truly alone. God, she was foolish opening up like this to a child, but at this point there was no one left to talk to. Moments like this was when her heart practically ached for Hannah's presence.

"They're... I don't know, Cam. I can't tell them apart, and that's horrible." She trailed off, grazing her bottom lip with her canines as she contemplated whether or not she really wanted to continue. Well, if news spread, it would circle back to one source, at least. "My closest friend growing up was a girl named Hannah. Josh- one of them, the original Josh- he was her older brother. Hannah had a twin named Beth..." It'd be cruel to tell Camerakit the specific details as to what had led to the twin's deaths, subsequently causing Josh to be an emotional wreck regardless of which "Josh" was looked at- one was an alcoholic, the other had a completely shattered self image, and both of them were desperately in need of help.

Both of them claimed to be Hannah and Beth's older brother, the one that was passed out cold drunk with Chris when Emily, Jessica, and Mike had pulled that horrendous prank on Hannah. "Long story short, Hannah and Beth are dead." Sam's eyes turned glassy as she spoke, flicking them off of Camerakit to stare directly over the child's shoulder. They couldn't have predicted that Hannah would run off, but they shouldn't have gone through with such a cruel prank anyways. "That's why Josh can seem... off. And I love Josh: like family, like a brother, like- Hell, maybe like something more." Sam grimaced slightly when she had cursed once more, and offered a small apology under her breath that she wasn't even sure if Camerakit would be able to pick up. It was the thought that counted, at least. "... And I can't tell them apart. I reach out to one, and the other one pulls away. It's a lose-lose situation no matter what I do, and Emily isn't helping." Emily never had been one of fair compromise, however, and Sam couldn't exactly say she was overly surprised. At least the snow leopard was still alive.

[align=center][fancypost borderwidth=0px;][justify][size=8]Similar to Felix, concern was etched into Sam's features as she slowly approached the crowd, coming up alongside Jonathan as she took a seat close to the male, fixing her gaze on Maggot. Nobody had commented on the girl's name, Sam noted dully, although when she was about to say something on Sam decided against it. Perhaps it was for the best that they didn't mention it yet: it might be a sore spot for the newcomer. "Food is a right, not a privilege here." Sam commented, noticing Maggot's growing irritation and deciding not to press the subject any further. She wouldn't nitpick for the female eating just yet, but if the female continued to bar herself from eating, that was when Sam would get more involved in straightening her poor self image out. "I'm Sam." She introduced herself simply, offering Maggot a small but warm smile.

Was that... Icarus? Sam usually didn't intrude on other's business unless there was a need to, but from the tone of the feline's voice alone, it seemed that the Guardian needed some help. Eyebrows furrowing in concern for what could have the apprentice fretting, Sam slipped through the underbrush toward the source of the noise, emerging from a low bush as her hazel optics flickered over a spot in the dirt where some small pawprints were left behind, all of them having a small tail behind them from where they had seemingly been dragged briefly. Lifting her gaze upward, Sam immediately identified why: Icarus was dangling from a rope that was no doubt a trap most likely set by humans to catch wildlife. Considering the slim chances of danger, Sam was actually rather amused by what she had found, and made it obvious with a playful smirk on her maw as she trotted closer toward her apprentice, standing directly under him and inclining her head upward. "Back to your cat body and already getting in trouble, I see." The lioness hummed in amusement, taking a few steps forward to be close to the tree.

Climbing a tree wasn't necessarily easy for Sam, especially considering her species, but considering she had lived on a thickly forested mountain most of her life she had learned how to use her weight to her advantage. Sinking her front claws into the bark, Sam jerked her weight backward as a test to see if the bark would peel away. When her claws remained rooted firmly in the tree, Sam casted an upward glance toward Icarus as a silent sign she was was coming to get him down. With a strong jump she was already a few feet up the tree, and one paw at a time she scaled up to a height just a few inches above where the male's head was. "Land on your feet, alright?" Sam teased, although her tone was breathy from the effort she had put into climbing the tree- just because she knew how didn't mean it was easy when she was out of practice. Reaching out a single paw, Sam aimed to cut through the rope cleanly with a claw. Hope could teach Icarus how to get into sticky situations, but Sam was going to teach him how to get out of shit like this.

[align=center][fancypost borderwidth=0px;][justify][size=8]Unlike the others, Sam was less interested in what Bottleblonde was saying as she approached, but instead what had the lioness entranced was the fact that she had actually cringed at her own voice. That small detail didn't go unnoticed by Sam- considering her history with Josh and Jailbreak, it was almost a second nature at this point to be able to pick up the insecurities of others and find out what they really were. Bottleblonde had more than a stutter, she had a flaw and that usually ate most from the inside out when they looked at it that way. Coming up silently alongside Camerakit to pin the female between her and Sunfang, the lioness settled into a seated position as her tufted tail flicked restlessly behind her. But instead of highlighting the fact that Bottleblonde wanted to explore, instead the lioness offered a warm smile and brought up the lighter side of things. "The world is beautiful. If I wasn't stuck in... well, a situation, I would love to go and see it." Sam commented lightly, skipping her gaze off of Bottleblonde instead to focus on the rolling hills and thick bushels of trees in the distance. Hannah and her siblings would commonly take small trips, although Sam never went with them- she felt as though she had to stay behind and watch the others like some sort of mother hen. She occasionally regretted not going to see the world with the trio, considering two of them were now dead. "Have you given thought to go sightseeing?" She inquired thoughtfully, turning her gaze back to Bottleblonde with a small smile. Her ears flicked back at Peachmoon's words- oh, right, an introduction. "I'm Sam, by the way."

[align=center][fancypost borderwidth=0px;][justify][size=8]Like the others that had arrived, Shiftingallegiances was a familiar face amongst WindClan to Sam. Hell, actually, everybody present was a familiar face to Sam: the lioness supposed that was a good thing, as she came up alongside Camerakit and took a seat alongside the rather excited female, a small smile pulling the corners of her lips up gently. "You know me." Sam teased in a light tone, exaggerating her words with a gentle wave of one of her paws as well as a grin that was slowly growing. Her playful smile faltered slightly when Shift inquired on how they were all doing, and Sam didn't force it to return, instead letting it settle as a small smile. "Stressed, but... You know, going strong. How're you?" The lioness returned the question, deciding not to elaborate any further.

[align=center][fancypost borderwidth=0px;][justify][size=8]Although Shift had been the one to offer, Sam had still decided to mimic the Deputy's actions- the part that involved Icarus, at the least. It was more for her own sake then anyone else's, and she cast the snow leopard a warm smile to let her know that it was nothing personal. Running her hazel gaze down the note as she read it, a small frown appeared on her maw as she casted a sideways glance toward Icarus. At the least, it had been Fidem's own choice to leave: he was not taken or killed. Returning her attention to the paper, Sam decided to paraphrase most of what the beginning the note of said. "Fidem left to help guide his Clan through dark times." Sam rumbled, using a paw to tap a claw under the paragraph she had summarized. "There's personalized notes for Camerakit, Aeris, and you." She tapped her claw a few times directly under Icarus' name, so that hopefully he'd be able to decipher when he was being mentioned on paper in the future. Until he learned how to read, that was. "Let's see... Icarus: "we didn't meet for long but you're one of my friends as well. I know we'll meet while you're a dual-member but I know it won't be the same as well. I want you to keep WindClan safe, and congratulations on your promotion! Also if you hurt Camerakit's feelings I'm gonna come over and slap you, ya hear?"" A bittersweet smile stretched out across her maw. God, watching the two interact reminded her of Ashley and Chris. "Until we all meet again: Fidem, RushingClan Leader."

[align=center][fancypost borderwidth=0px;][justify][size=8]Deciding to break the train of WindClanners that had formed, Sam approached quietly and took a seat directly behind Icarus and Camerakit, observing the joiner over the tops of their heads easily due to the height difference. Looking over the children was much easier then trying to look over Jonathan: they were around the same size, considering she was a lion, but he still had her by an inch or two. She'd likely have to crawl over him slightly, and she could just imagine his reaction. Deciding not to speak, considering none of the vital questions had been answered yet, the Honoguard simply gave a short but pleasant hum of greeting directed at both her Clanmates and the unknown HawkClanner before her.

[align=center][fancypost borderwidth=0px;][justify][size=8]"Both of you, calm down." Honestly. Sam rolled her eyes as she joined the small group, coming up alongside Wingspan and taking a seat comfortably alongside the smaller female. They sounded like younger versions of Mike and Emily: the only thing that would make their "Mike and Emily" facade more perfect was if they were going out and still incessantly arguing. "Learn to share." She commented in a blunt manner, although her words were still warm as she skipped her gaze between Sol and Marius. While she wasn't sure if Marius was into other males, Sam had her suspicions about Sol. Not that it was wrong, but she was at the point where she was willing to place a money bet: she hadn't meddled in his life enough to know that he had likely already committed to a relationship with Broadwaymusical.

[align=center][fancypost borderwidth=0px;][justify][size=8]Sam still wasn't overly keen on the prospect of leaving WindClan to go somewhere else, regardless of how brief the trip was or even if she would be with other Clanmates. After the disappearance of Hannah and Beth, she was rather afraid that one of her other friends would end gone- dead. Sam was in no rush to march off to her own death, either. "Thank you for the invite." The lioness rumbled as she came up alongside Wingspan and quietly observed the dinosaur, not letting her fears enter her voice and instead keeping her timbre soft and warm. This was Touketsu, was it not? Like Wingspan, catching onto the male's displeasure didn't take much effort, although Sam decided not to tackle the problem head on since she didn't personally know him. "I'm sure Coralie is around somewhere." Sam offered in an almost cautious tone, testing his reaction before offering him a light smile. "Oh, and I'm Sam, by the way."

[align=center][fancypost borderwidth=0px;][justify][size=8]Sam had never personally known Sovietunion- Hell, for that matter, she didn't even know of his existence until he awoke from his coma and made a return to WindClan. Sam was filled with questions directed toward the male, but decided against it eventually, instead settling near the back of the crowd and peering over everybody's head. "Hey, I'm Sam." The lioness introduced herself briefly before falling silent, deciding to not meddle any more than she had to and instead let Sovietunion enjoy the reunions he apparently needed. She could only imagine what it would be like to discover Hannah and Beth alive, so she knew that he'd likely appreciate some alone time with those he had been separated from for so long. "Welcome back." She added as an afterthought, a gentle smile pulling the corner of her lips upward.

[align=center][fancypost borderwidth=0px;][justify][size=8]Sam, not unlike Justicebreaker, had not wanted to disturb Wingspan's slumber. Or at least, what appeared to be slumber from afar. Sam had personal experience with her friends stumbling around and waking her up when all she wanted was some damn sleep, although she was no hypocrite: she knew she had tripped over her friends a handful of times, and while most of them grumbled angrily, stumbling over Emily was one of the worst things one could do at one in the morning. Obviously Wingspan was much kinder than Emily, although nonetheless, countless hours of being scorned eventually made habits die: regardless of how hard they went down. "Hey, guys." Sam greeted as she approached, a rather melancholic smile spread across her maw at the strong reminders of her with her friends on the mountains. Taking a seat next to where Wingspan had been sprawled out, the female inclined her head upward to observe the stars shining brightly above them. "Stars are beautiful, aren't they?" Sam spoke after a small lapse of silence from the female, deciding not to butt in on any sort of conversation Wingspan might strike up with Justicebreaker.

[align=center][fancypost borderwidth=0px;][justify][size=8]Sam couldn't believe what she was hearing. Abuse was a disgusting thing: how could somebody do that to another living creature? Sam's stomach churned as she took full notice of the scars thickly lacing the apprentice's body, swallowing bile that threatened to rise up and out of her throat. "That's... awful." The lioness stressed, forcing herself to rip her gaze off of Maggot's old wounds and instead staring down at her paws. Sam was at a loss for words, so instead the lioness remained quiet as both Jonathan and Fireflyspark continued to try to talk Maggot out of her "slave obeying master" mindset, with little to no success it seemed. Sam felt like the more they pressed the issue, the more determined she'd be- like Josh had been. A heavy sigh drifted out from between Sam's lips as she lifted her gaze from her paws once more after Fifly had finished speaking, fixing her gaze on Maggot's gaze alone- she couldn't tolerate to look at the abuse forcefully inflicted upon Maggot anymore. "So long as you're here, nobody is going to hurt you. You can eat as much as you want, because we have enough food for everyone to eat themselves fat." Sam wouldn't mention that Maggot would be eating the product of other's hard work, as Sam felt that'd be more counterproductive. Sam was willing to devote a couple hours of her day to hunting just to keep the illusion of overabundance for Maggot. Her small ears flicked back when Fireflyspark tackled what felt like the elephant in the room to Sam, and a thankful smile spread across her maw that she flashed toward the former Leader before fixing her attention once more on Maggot. Sam would understand not wanting to change her name, but there was no way Sam was going to call her Maggot. "Or even a nickname? Maggie is very cute, don't you think?" 'Maggie' was horrendously close to 'Maggot', but Sam was willing to forever connect the nickname to the nickname to the fly larvae that most wrinkled their nose at.
