He remembered being excited for his first birthday; he got all dressed up, and waited for people to day something about it. His brothers, though, had ruined the moment pretty quick for him. He'd only gotten one present that year (bit that was enough compared to the rest- he got nothing after that); the purple bracelet he always wore. And it wasn't from his family. It was from the leader, Trojan, who had forgotten his birthday and just conjured up something and threw it at him. He didn't care though. He loved it anyway, and treasured his only birthday gift over the years.

He was sure that if he was ever truly happy, though, he would cry. It was weird..... But he knew some people who cried when they were filled with joy. Honestly, it would have been a weird site to see parhelion doing something like that, especially if it was karma... No, kim that would witness an odd breakdown from him. they weren't actually brothers, even though that was the term he most commonly used. he never liked to explain any of it. all of his "brothers" were his half brothers. aside from raito and kanato, who were his twins (they were triplets!!!). sadly, they just all had the same father, who they all didn't really like, since they didn't see him much. vandead had been adopted and turned into a vampire by him so he wouldn't die. or, that was just the story he knew. who knew what actually happened between them? helio couldn't say he knew his father well enough to actually know.

vandead didn't deserve anything that parhelion had said to him..... but it was too late to take any of it back. he was gone now. he'd left right in the middle of all the chaos... like he always did. helio never faced any of his problems.... but that was probably why his feelings were destroyed now. the canine sighed, studying the child's face. who knew what he was thinking about. helio was sure that is his mother and father died, he would be overloaded with joy. but vandeadcarnival and evergreen were very nice people, as much as he didn't want to admit it. vanny would have been a great dad to his children. he wasn't sure how he felt about this.... or what he should do. Helio wasn't sure what he was feeling. It wasn't the first time he'd driven someone away with his disgusting personality. He knew that everyone hated him..... But he still tried to make it better. No one here had known him when he was little..... He was so much worse then. Everyone hated his presence, and wished that he would just go away.

Why was he like this? Making himself appear cool had backfired. One hell of an ego had risen up, and he hadn't cared. But now, he did. He could see that no one liked it. He could see that everyone hated him for it. vac then, he hadn't cared. His mother had told him to be the best. And that was what he tried to do. He didn't see why he couldn't be king. He had karma, who pissed him off every day. He had heliotrope, his first friend, and probably the only one who ever loved him..... And he ended up fighting him. he had hayley..... Who he'd turned into a vampire by accidentally sucking too much blood from. He couldn't even tell until it was to late..... And he never saw her again. Everyone hated him eventually, and he'd come to terms with it.

For some of the others, he wasn't sure what he felt. He was sure Kim was going to hate him for the rrest of her life. He was pretty sure karma wouldn't accept an apology without seeing some kind of change first. The poor German shepherd didn't think he'd made enough progress from when he'd known him. He was more conscious of the words he used, but..... That was it. And most of the time, he didn't catch his words in time. It was frustrating to make such a drastic change. After all, he'd been like this for years.....

A mouse quickly scurried in front of the canine. Helio slammed a paw down on it, but light enough to not kill it in one blow. He used his claws to pinch it on the back of its neck, slowly raising it up in front of him. He watched as it dangled above the ground, squirming and squealing as it tried to release itself of his grip. Helio stared at the rodent absent mindedly.

He knew what it was like to be up there. To try and escape the inevitable. There was so many things about himself that he wished he could change........ But he thought it was too late. He was one whisker away from giving up on himself. All of his goals. All of his dreams. They ere starting to mean nothing to him.

He exhaled.

He was practically immortal. How long had he seemed to be 17 months old? He couldn't even remember. The German shepherd never took the time to think about it, but now that he had.... It was weird. Parhelionlogic had never once thought of not being a vampire.... But he didn't think there was any way for a pureblood vampire to change into a normal animal. The only possitive thing to being a vampire was that the canine could see colors with it. He solely relied on his sense of smell for everything he did..... It was the more dependable sense he had. Everything else was worthless....... Meaningless.....

He would have liked to think he made good progress with his egotistical habits and personality... ...
