[hr][fancypost bgcolor=; border: none; font-family: times new roman; font-size: 11px; width: 300px; text-align: justify; text-transform: lowercase;]As half forgotten scent flooded his glands, Merle lifted his head, blue eyes roaming blindly for his clanmate as she drew closer and closer. The tap on his shoulder brought the white tom to his aching paws now encrusted with dried blood and he almost missed Vani's greeting. Hello, he tapped back, be it rather slowly and softly. Am I home?
He hoped he was. Perhaps his mother or even his siblings would be around. The cat he really wished to appear would never come, though. Aes was dead, he was sure he had been informed; died during childbirth, if he wasn't mistaken. Still, Merle missed the creature which had first spoken to him, and thank the gods he had. He didn't think he could have been able to communicate if the deformed creature hadn't snuck into his mind.
Is Lydia here also? Maybe she was still with SunClan. They had been close, last time Merle spoke to her.

[hr][fancypost bgcolor=; border: none; font-family: times new roman; font-size: 11px; width: 300px; text-align: justify; text-transform: lowercase;]And next on the scene was Merle, paws dragging against the unfamiliar flooring and occasionally stopping to either scent the air or to touch the ground. He had been following the walls of the cathedral, gotten lost, then come across Vani's scent. Maybe the gods were looking out for him. Pausing as the heat of warm bodies drew closer, the white tom felt the icy touch of fear clench his heart before he sat down, shoving the uncomfortable feeling away. Vani was here, so these cats were friends and wouldn't hurt him.

"This isn't a silly housefolk pelt - this is my pelt! Do you think housefolk wear their pelts for fun? They don't! They - like I - wear it to keep warm. Not everyone has fur, you know." Huffing, the hairless cat shook himself, trying to dislodge the water which soaked into the pelt.

However, the Empress' arrival soon chased the thought away and Kettle turned to her, light blue eyes wide in their sockets. "Do you have a lamb?"

Wasn't this wonderful, his mother and sister and brother in the same place as him? "Hello!" He was certainly a lot more confident in an environment with creatures he knew.

[hr][fancypost bgcolor=; border: none; font-family: times new roman; font-size: 11px; width: 300px; text-align: justify; text-transform: lowercase;]A new scent became known and Merle shuffled a little closer to Vanillatwilight just as the stranger contacted him. This was not Aes, nor was this a familiar creature penetrating his thoughts. I am Merle, he thought, well familiarised with telepathic creatures in his mind. Who are you?

[hr][fancypost bgcolor=; border: none; font-family: times new roman; font-size: 11px; width: 300px; text-align: justify; text-transform: lowercase;]Instead of echoing Kieren's smile as any other creature would have, Merle clumsily dipped his head to clean his paws up, struggling to remember names that were just out of his grasp. Oh. What happened to... Nidalee? Hopefully he'd gotten the name of one of the old leaders correct and had not just embarrassed himself in front of Vani and the now leader. This isn't the same place, is it? Something smells different. Or it could just be his awful memory confusing the scents.

[hr][fancypost bgcolor=; border: none; font-family: times new roman; font-size: 11px; width: 300px; text-align: justify; text-transform: lowercase;]Murdered. Merle had come across bodies before, one that had been killed by unknown enemies. The deaf-blind had unknowingly stepped in a puddle of blood when he had found the body, then quickly ushered away by Aes. Back then, Merle had been confused and upset by all the fuss and the scents, but now he knew that his friend hadn't allowed him to stick around for fear of remembering his own mother's body. Pausing in his memories, the white tom noticed that on each count of coming across bodies he had been the first on scene, which was quite awful. So to hear of one leader murdered and another demoted was saddening and reminded him of old friends, when times were so much easier. Who did it?

[hr][fancypost bgcolor=; border: none; font-family: times new roman; font-size: 11px; width: 300px; text-align: justify; text-transform: lowercase;]On meeting Kettle, most would think of him as a shy type, slightly boring, often blurting out stuff he didn't want to say. With his family, the young Siamese is more confident, but still with the foot in mouth disease. Still, he enjoyed moments with close family and that was why he was out following a recent scent trail left by his brother. Hopefully he'd catch up to him and maybe the two could play a game or something fun like that.

The point exclaimed, leaping forwards in an attempt to tackle his brother to the ground. It had been relatively easy to find Kellen, but Kettle did not know if this was because they were kits or because he was just that great at tracking. He preferred to think it was the latter of the two options. "Can we play a game or spy on people, Kellen?" He asked, tilting his head a little as he considered how similar their names were. Kinda.

[hr][fancypost bgcolor=; border: none; font-family: times new roman; font-size: 11px; width: 300px; text-align: justify; text-transform: lowercase;]Shaking his head in a manner that was similar to a dog, Kettle watched as a leaf he had acquired fell from his head to the floor. Unlike Kellen, the Siamese didn't bother to clean his pelt, leaving the cream parts almost as dark as the seal. "We could play tree-tag or we could dig holes and try and get prey to fall in or we could spy on an enemy Clan!" PAusing to take a breath, Kettle turned to his littermate. "What do you think?"
