right, everyone seemed to be more ready than him, but he could do this. "right then, let's go." the vampire said to everyone. He k we the way, so it didn't take too much longer than be necessary for them to find it. A few days of sleeping here and there, mostly stopping to rest was what prolongued it, but they finally arrived at the aged castle whose ivory walls seemed to have faded a but, although it would be normal for some place so old. "this is the place," Subaru told the group gathered behind him, staring back at them.

if he was thinking it once, he probably would a thousand times- Maggie was very, very odd. Her ways of thinking and actions were something he'd never seen before, which weirded him out for the sole reason of him having seen... probably everything. He could closely relate her to people that he used to know if their personalities mixed and had add-ons, but Maggie was still a different person, which made it hard for Shinto predict what she was going to do. The thing about Subaru was that he was always looking for some type of underlying motif or secret, but as far as it seemed Maggie didn't have any, which only made him even more suspicious of her. He his his secrets pretty well and it was obvious whenever he didn't want to talk about something, but Maggie, it seemed to him, laid everything out on the table to be scrutinized. And he hadn't ever met anyone like that, so it was weird. It was especially strange how she took his advice - as though she would do it next time around.

    his ear flicked in annoyance.

though she did suggest helping him clean it, to Which he shook his head, letting his ears flop around as he did so. "it's not a chore for me- at times like this it actually helps calm me down," he couldn't believe he'd actually said that. To someone like Maggie, too. Well, maybe she wouldn't take it how he would think others would. She seemed to at least be pretty decent about not saying stuff that people seemed to be insecure about, so maybe she caught Subaru'a drift about keeping the stuff he did to himself. Even if she didn't seem to understand the concepts he set out.

there was a bit of silence, but the emperor was at a loss for words. he ended up shifting his paws and averting his eyes as though unsure what to say, but thankfully Maggie ended up asking a question although one surprising to him. "ah, yeah, why not?" the vampire responded, tilting his head to the side a bit. "I've done it a few times.... but my brother kanato was the best." he'd never won anything for such a voice, but boy could the small cat sing. Subaru had actually admitted to his older brother how his singing used to help him find peace when he was younger, although in any normal state he'd never have said a word. In other words, Subaru only ever probably told the truth when he was drunk. "he used to sing all the time, can't say I knew why." Subaru mused, red eyes staring blankly at Maggie as he tried to remember, though coming up with nothing. Hmm.

She seemed surprised, although for whatever reason Subaru wasn't all too sure of. "what? who do you think made most of those old temples crumble to the ground?" surely enough he had made quite a few of them fall, although it had been for laughs or for anger most of the times. Subaru could recall a time where someone had gotten nearly crushed inside of a fallinn temple once though, but since the name wasn't coming up he probably didnt care all too much, huh? He was such a jerk all those months ago- everyone would have been shocked to see his terrible attitude back then.

But Maggie's next statement brought him back out of memory lane, and the corners of his mouth tipped upwards in a smirk. "afraid I'll knock the place down? These old walls can take a few hits," the emperor assured her, even though the multitudes of holes from his past strength compared to what damage he could do now actually might be something for someone to be afraid of. But he had missed this place, so it wasn't too likely that he'd be moving from it again as long as he was a still around.

hmm, it appeared as though this small gathering had went over the pharaoh's head, although if he was honest he would say that he hadn't meant for this to happen. subaru was still an awkward loner no matter what he encountered, one might suppose. "some people like sweets, so maybe candies?" subaru suggested, flicking an ear, wondering what he would do or say in action for it.

    [fancypost borderwidth=0px; line-height: 14px; width: 430px; text-align: justify; font-family: verdana; font-size: 10.5px;]
the pharaoh stared down at the girl for a moment, but nodded. "of course you can, but the biggest one you see is mine- i called it." subaru grinned a bit but his smile seemed to be a bit blank.

    [fancypost borderwidth=0px; line-height: 14px; width: 430px; text-align: justify; font-family: verdana; font-size: 10.5px;]
subaru wouldn't know much about people with amnesia, to be honest, but he couldn't say that he cared, either. anyone trespassing or coming close to it would be regarded with the same oddly cold expression, although it couldn't be said whether or not this resting bitch face of his was meant. "what's your name and purpose?" the pharaoh asked simply, blinking his ruby visionaries slowly.

    [fancypost borderwidth=0px; line-height: 14px; width: 430px; text-align: justify; font-family: verdana; font-size: 10.5px;]
oh, alright. so the news wasn't bad. he said it wasn't, but subaru's senses of good and bad weren't the most perfect, on-target thing in the universe. "i see." the emperor flicked his ear in momentary thought. "thank you for letting us know."

    [fancypost borderwidth=0px; line-height: 14px; width: 430px; text-align: justify; font-family: verdana; font-size: 10.5px;]
subaru never came out of his room. he never got the invitation, so he couldn't come. although subaru hardly ever if at all came out of his room unless it was for magically special business of his, he had by some miracle and had come at least somewhat on time. it was odd to see him there anyway, seeing as anything he ever did was purely awkward minus his initial scary facial expression. "nice setup, will," the emperor said, probably having small flash back to something he had seen similarly to what was unfolding for the time being. he didn't know what he would eat. subaru could eat normal food but it wasn't uncommon for it not to be substantial for people like him.

    [fancypost borderwidth=0px; line-height: 14px; width: 430px; text-align: justify; font-family: verdana; font-size: 10.5px;]
subaru himself wasn't that fond of his own lack of self esteem when it came to being the emperor- the only way he at least lodged it into his head was bringing himself back to the place he spent the first half of his life, and even now he wasn't so sure of himself. nonetheless his hearing caught many voices coming from one place and went to check it out, only to see a familiar face. "sutton- it's nice to see you back here. i- uh, us moving flew over my head to tell you about it," the vampire said with a shrug. he wasn't the best at multitasking. the one thing he was great at was being emo though, he was good at that.

    [fancypost borderwidth=0px; line-height: 14px; width: 430px; text-align: justify; font-family: verdana; font-size: 10.5px;]
eh, the vampire didn't know if he could say that he and maggie were close- to be honest all he thought of their relationship was something close to mutuals that only talked if they had to, since that was somewhat what he did. though he did like her, there wasn't really anything behind it and he would rather she stayed away from him, since only trouble seemed to come from him. subaru's grin shattered into his expression of irritation again when will came over, although it wasn't on purpose- he just didn't feel all so comfortable with the canine seeing him smile, though unknowing really of why. he really had some odd reasoning, "what's up?" the emperor asked, blinking casually.

he would have laughed at what maggie was thinking- it wasn't uncommon for him to destroy. one talk with shika and she might have told them that he'd been seen crushing rocks, knocking down whole jungle trees, and a whole lot of things that made holes in walls seem like a walk in the park. though he would never talk about them aloud. of course, he was barely joking when he said that- his jokes were much more cruel, but one would know if he was making them, since he would probably talk the sadist talk. but he didn't joke very often. maggie asked him what he thought of the castle, and the vampire stayed silent to hear his reply, ears swiveling forward with interest. he hadn't had the time really to ask, merely taking looks at the places he remembered so well. he often found himself alone in the garden outside, though he didn't know if he would tell them the story behind it.

he was sure that maggie, with her casually caring appearance wouldn't mind whatever he did as long as it wouldn't hurt himself or anyone, but he didn't know if ever she would understand him if he kept being vague like he always did. he didn't know how she could always be so open, as if she had nothing to hide (hell, she probably didn't, but subaru was too suspicious of everyone for that), but he would have to search the cupboards of her mind to be sure of that first. in the present, though, and at will's response, he felt a little hopeful, although he didn't show it. will was more like a foreign substance to him, and although he hadn't been trying to please him (it was more like... well, he had been trying to prove the new empire to the... castle? he was weird) it was nice to hear that he liked the place where so many things in his life went down.

which made it a little surprising to hear that he was being questioned shortly after how long he was here. "oh god, ah...shit, uh..." subaru raised a paw to the back of his head, seating himself in the process as he stared around in thought. how long had he lived here? he remembered when he joined, perhaps in september a long time ago. a white feline with red eyes. he had been pretty small so he kept himself in a canine form. he had been such a scared little kid, stuttering and tripping over himself. it was weird to remember that of course now, but that had been him. when he got a little bigger he had shifted into the body he was in now and hadn't changed back, but then his brother ayato had changed from his red feline body to a skeleton dog for halloween.

he remembered everyone's birthdays being celebrated, and all the creepy contests of the vampires... but when did they move? it was some time after mary got possessed that she decided to be all creepy and changed the place to an anticlan and tribe. "maybe a little more than half a year? i dunno. my early life was spent here of course, so i know it like the back of my paw." the emperor told the canine finally, after a long bit of silence. he'd never have thought he would have been asked that, but it wasn't something that he wasn't comfortable with answering.

    [fancypost borderwidth=0px; line-height: 14px; width: 430px; text-align: justify; font-family: verdana; font-size: 10.5px;]
subaru hadn't forgotten the rose garden so close to the castle, and why they were there in the first place. he stayed a comfortable distance away from them but held a naturally shitty expression in regards to the flowers that surrounded the bodies of his clanmates. of course, he didn get the urge to just run over and like, set them on fire or something, but he didn't act upon it, only calmly padding over and muttering, "there are a lot of people here, did i miss something?"

    [fancypost borderwidth=0px; line-height: 14px; width: 430px; text-align: justify; font-family: verdana; font-size: 10.5px;]
gifts were pretty cool, subaru couldn't hate. "thanks," the emperor said as he came over, examining them with his ruby visionaries.

    [fancypost borderwidth=0px; line-height: 14px; width: 430px; text-align: justify; font-family: verdana; font-size: 10.5px;]
subaru actually didn't care that much for food. as simple as it sounded his taste wasn't that great- which had showed a long time ago back then they'd had a lemon eating contest and he didn't seem to have that much a reaction to it. he really was some sort of hopeless case, though at will's add on of reading, he had to think for a moment. had he even... read anything in his life...? he actually couldn't recall such a thing. "... .. ... . i think we should just leave it at me only liking two things. three is too big a number." the emperor said a bit lightheartedly but also a bit disappointed if one looked into his eyes. sheesh, he couldn't even think of three things that he liked... what kind of a person was he?

    [fancypost borderwidth=0px; line-height: 14px; width: 430px; text-align: justify; font-family: verdana; font-size: 10.5px;]
he wouldn't be very happy to see her giggling at him, since in his opinion he hadn't done anything funny. but then again, he did have a twisted sort of comedy that may be hard to understand for anyone like maggie. even if somehow she had almost gone rolling at a joke he spewed from his mouth. magically. he wouldn't take kindly nonetheless to be thought of as seeming like a child, especially from maggie, since she was extremely childish to him. the thought would have made him frown if he'd had it, but instead he raised a kitty eyebrow and felt his cheeks heating up. "what?" subaru asked grumpily, huffing.

at her question, he nodded. "that pipsqueak was always weird, but... he got less bratty and committed suicide. since he came back here he didn't have teddy, either. so he had nothing to sing about, i guess." oh yeah, teddy. for some reason the stuffed bear that kanato was hardly ever seen without hadn't been on his back or in his arms. was it because he was a ghost, and couldn't touch anything? maybe that was the case. but he seemed to be slightly at a loss as well as angry, something that was different from his old tantrums so it set the younger vampire only a confused expression when he looked at him. it was nice to be referring to him as pipsqueak again, though- he had always done that in the past. subaru grinned at the memory.

    [fancypost borderwidth=0px; line-height: 14px; width: 430px; text-align: justify; font-family: verdana; font-size: 10.5px;]
    /aaaah sorry for not replying to this until just now! ;____;

there was something wrong. senses of fear hit the vampire in waves and they weren't unfamiliar, so subaru went to check it out. realizing that faith, one of their newest members (that was right, wan't it? he wasn't the best at keeping track) was being attacked. he didn't feel like transforming into something large, so instead the feline charged at it with a howl and with his super strength attempted to headbutt into it's side.

    [fancypost borderwidth=0px; line-height: 14px; width: 430px; text-align: justify; font-family: verdana; font-size: 10.5px;]
this was his second time experiencing a new year, so he couldn't say the festivities were new to him. it was his first time leading a group with it though, so he would think that perhaps he should have a different outlook on it. did he have any resolutions? probably not. he was so boring. anyway, the ball room of the mansion was set up with beautiful red ribbons and even a few black and white balloons (he was so metal) tied to some broken down chairs that were pushed into old tables. they were covered with old white sheets and food as well as drinks was carefully placed on top of them, of all types so everyone would have their chance of going at it. he was fiddling with a music player to try and get it started but in the meantime was waiting for allies and members to start showing up.

    [fancypost borderwidth=0px; line-height: 14px; width: 430px; text-align: justify; font-family: verdana; font-size: 10.5px;]
so he had decided to send the invites himself. it wasn't that bad- the only trace of the vampire was a letter with pretty well written words. they sounded a bit blunt, since that was just like him, but oh well- at least he was literate.
