「 he stumbled into faith and thought — god, this is all there is 」

The feline offered all of them a friendly smile as she pushed her gift basket forward. It was nice to see some different faces than the last time she was here for a visit. "We are doing pretty good. How are you guys?" Kate asked.

"We've all suffered." the white feline spoke, still worried about their wounds. But if they still contained a little bit of grace then they would heal up nicely. She was more worried that they would continue to hurt themselves, which would become an never ending cycle. "Suffering is a part of living, part of being mortal." Kate said, not sure if she was the best example to look at. Since she broke almost every code there was to being an angel. But maybe if she could get them to see that being sad from time to time was a part of life they would see how it gets better.

The world of swallow water and endless sky was no longer a nice place to say the least. There were huge cracks in the sky that allowed some unfamiliar light shine in and the cracks on the ground allowed the water to drain away. Kate didn’t know what this meant but had a feeling it had to do with her soul dying. Letting out a sigh she heard the familiar voice of Rain Dancer, ”It’s almost time.” she looked at the black feline with different colored eyes this time. One being a light brown and the other a bright yellow. She really was being cut down on time with facing two colors at once.

”Last chance to tidy things up.” Kate gave the world around her a sorrowful glance before focusing on the other feline. This world, it was her soul's home and now it was being torn apart. Maybe if she had done things differently then she wouldn’t be dying. But she knew that when she became mortal that she would be facing death. Part of her always thought she would somehow live forever. Did most mortals think that way? She wasn’t most mortals. No, she would never get a chance to leave like a normal creature on this planet. ”This place, this world… We just want to be a part of it.”

”I would say we could be reincarnated. But with no soul…” Kate frowned even more, now knowing there was no chance of coming back. Was this how Ventus felt when he knew he would no longer exist on any kind of level. She body would simply decay and be used to fuel other things in this universe. But she would never watch over her friends, her son. Kate would never set paw on this world or any other world again. It was scary but it’s not like she’ll be able to feel the fear forever, which provided some comfort. ”I don’t want to go. Why haven’t you looked for a way out?” she was surprised to see Rain Dancer so upset. It wasn’t like them to show this kind of emotion, that was for her.

”We don’t deserve a way out.” Kate spoke softly, taken aback that they could even hear her. Which, of course they could. They were her soul after all. ”So what! And all those bad men deserve to live? They deserve to breath fresh air, have a family, be alive and well! Why don’t we! We have done wrong but have paid time and time again! Why don’t you see that!” they spat at her and she noticed the crack between them become wider, shaking the world once again. ”Heartbreak is not a punishment!” Kate snapped back, ”Losing someone we love doesn’t make up for the love ones we’ve taken from this world. A world that we love so much and yet we try to keep it to ourselves. I don’t want to die, hell, I don’t want to disappear forever. But I’m not going to hurt more people just because I want to stay.” the black feline in front of her whimpered. She really was broken.

”If the universe allows it, then we will make it out of here somehow.”

The white feline woke up from her sleep with a painful headache. Quick to pop some poppy seeds, she ate what she could. Her body ached and were covered in bruises, plus she got a bloody nose more often. Signs that death was getting closer. But she had more things to do, so she got right to it. Recognizing another eye had opened, the inner ring being a light brown and the outer ring being a bright yellow. Kate let out a tired sigh as she got her books together. At least her knowledge would live on in some way.

Giving away her books was a hard thing to do, since she had spent a lot of time on them. But it was better for them than to be forgotten about and possibly ruined. So Kate gathered them all outside her cabin before assigning them to others. She would give all her spell books to AZASEIL AND KNITTINGTON . They contained mostly things about potions and medical use, but two out of the five contained powers spells. Summoning fire and other elements, along with summoning spirits to aid the user. The female hoped he would use these well and maybe teach someone else one day. Her two vampire journals would go to young Sebastian X. , hoping someone would help him read these. This way he could learn how to eat without killing and about the powers that came with this mutation. Kate even left the cure she used on herself for him, in case he wanted to use it. A single journal about her experiences of losing her grace would go to VIRGASNARE. , wanting to help the once angel. Maybe they would get something out of her life. Her supernatural books and books on travel would go to -elijah . Hoping the shinigami would use these to better fight hollows but also get around to seeing the world.

Kate left shortly after giving all her journals away, making her way to Hawkclan. She had found out where her son had been living and decided to go visit him. Since her time was almost up and she wanted him to be prepared. The feline had taken her time to spend the rest of the day there. Talking with him and about how she would be gone to. There were tears but she felt that he was going to do just fine on his own. She wrote a special letter for someone who seemed close to her boy and made sure it would get to them. Kate said her goodbyes and teleported on home. Though, she wanted to take the long way in order to get in a walk. As the sun was setting she was approaching the border of her home. Her heart felt heavy.

Flashing in and out of it, she found herself standing in swallow water. Which was almost all drained away from the cracks in the ground. No, please no. ”I’m afraid it is time.” Kate turned around to face a black feline with white eyes. ”No, I thought I had more time!” her voice shook and the world began to crumple. A piece of the sky fell down and created a small wave of what was left of the water. ”I know, I did too.” With a rumble, another piece came crashing down, landing directly on Rain Dancer.

”No!” the feline shouted, finding herself back at the border. Her blade had snapped in two and she felt her chest squeezed in pain. She was dying, her body was failing her. Kate could feel that her heart would give out soon and she stumbled forward a bit.

She felt sick to her stomach having this conversation but it was a bitter pill she had to swallow. Watching his face for a reaction, her heart wanted to make him feeling better. But there was no feeling better in this situation. "His name is John and he lives in Hawkclan. He has brain damage but if you could give him a letter for me." she trailed off, wanting to promise to pay him back in some way. But would there be time for that? She didn't know, the clock was counting down but from what number? Kate let out a heavy sigh as she tried to calm her nerves, not realizing how nervous she had been till now. "I'm sorry if I let you down, Elijah."

She had always expected to die by someone killing her, but from a raid. The feline would have never expected someone to get a hire hit, mostly because she was good. That was why she didn't expect that Solsticeclanner kid to kill her way back then. Just like she wouldn't expect Breakout to kill her. Even though she was dying and was sure this was the end. She had a history of coming back, only twice from death but nothing like a soul dying. What would she be without a soul? Kate wasn't sure if she wanted to find out the answer to that. And why would someone want her dead? Maybe for her crimes back in Solsticeclan or maybe because she did murder three angels recently.

The dying cat flinched at the sudden sound of a voice, fearing they would see the truth she kept from mostly everyone. What was the point of hiding it now? If she had more time then she would have told everyone, she thought she did have more time. Universe, she wanted more time. Peering up at her clan mate with seven eyes and a weak smile. "Breakout, I'm sorry you have to see me this way. I... I tried to keep my dying to myself. But I should have known better, about a lot of things." she was starting to feel that panic feeling of death. Kate wanted to cry, scream, beg not to die but she knew none of that would work. If there was a God, he surely was not going to save her.

She made her way over and sat on down, wondering what this meeting would hold. Maybe some kind of update on how their allies were or maybe it was nothing too important. ""

Nothing was fair in this world, that was something she came to learn quickly. From the death of her new born kid to seeing needless violence in this world. Yet, she loved it. Nothing was fair but something about that was fair. It was complicated and Kate was sure she would never be able to explain her view of this place correctly. Looks like she would never get the chance to either. She heard him but the words took a moment to process. What? The white feline felt her heart squeezed and she fliched as they tackled her to the ground. Wait? Kate could hardly believe that they were attacking her right now. Why? She grunted out in pain as their paw meets with her side.

Her ribs were probably cracked, it wouldn't have taken a lot to do so with her weak body. Dying takes a lot on the physical form. Her chest rose with a painful breath and anger replaced her sorrow. She was not going without a fight, these were her final moments after all. Aiming to bite their burned leg, she would try to twist her body to get under their large one and claw their stomach. They were skilled at fighting but so was she, she did start a war with The Skulls once. Plus, fighting in raids after raids helped improved her timing. But she was dying and wasn't in the best of shape to be moving fast. So, even if the bite landed she doubted to would make it in time to claw their belly. Maybe it would hit somewhere else. ""

Good. She did something to him and that was all she needed to feel a little peace in this moment. Maybe now her clan mates would find who killed her and punish him. Kate held onto that thought as more began to clutter her thought process. Breakout was just a kid, another kid that would kill her. Just like that kid from Solsticeclan who killed her because she had killed their father. Back when she was a soul eating skeleton. She deserved it. Did she hurt Breakout in some way but just didn't know it. Had she killed their parent or sibling? Her eyes stared at him and for a moment she pittied them. They deserved a better life than being a murderer. But there was no way for her to help them, not when she couldn't even help herself.

Life around her became blurry and she fell back to the world of swallow water. This was it. And she was not ready. A voice echoed out as the place began to crumple and turn into nothing but a bright light. "We'll be okay. Don't fight it." With that all she saw was light and energy. Kate reforced on Breakout and let out a whimper. She was crying, even with all this time to prepare she wasn't ready. Please, universe. The female begged within her mind as she screamed in pain. Being dragged back to the ground and all she could do was hope someone would here her. "Please! Please! Don't!" Kate cried as she was turned over to face the young demon. There was nothing but blankness and one desire to get this job over with, it was just a job. Her life was more than that right? As they drove to give the final attack that would be her end, her mind started to go blank from the pure panic and chemicals in her brain. Her shouting turned to a grunt as the pain became mind numbing, she could no longer process what was happening to her. With her head now pressed against the cool grass she stared into the dark forest of her home. Oh God, please don't take me. I want to live. I'll do better, I can be better. For John, for Michael, for everyone. Please.

"Michael... please sa-save... m-me." single tears left from all her eyes, even the newly opened black one, as she breathed out her final words.

A black crow landed at the border of Hawkclan, the ground seemed to wet to leave the paper here. So the loyal bird waited for someone to come on by, that's when they would leave the letter. Which was addressed to John Doe of Hawkclan, Son to Kate. It was a simple letter but the bird had also brought a signed will so the boy could gather his mothers stuff back at the Frontier. For she was dead. Letting out a caw, the crow tapped his foot trying to gather some attention.

The crow had dropped a letter off at Hawkclan before going on it's search for the next person. Which was harder than Kate made it out to be, but the bird was a loyal creature and would get the job done. Given a spell to help find the angel Kate loved so deerly. Landing on a branch that was at the border, the bird would wait for someone to come to him. And if not, he would fly in and find Michael their self. The black bird had a letter and signed will, allowing them to split some of Kate's stuff back at The Frontier with John Doe. Letting out a caw, the feathered creature waited. Had the angel heard Kate pray to him in her final moments?
